TimeTraveler369:
You misunderstood.

Both VI and Mushin are in Lagos so the comparative dynamics you elucidated is a misnomer on the context of my commentary. It was a comparison of Economic Supremacy between two cities and as for his Tinubu remark, that was uncalled for.

Stop being silly, do not bring dispute between two tribes because of characters of two different people whose lifestyle and political clout have nothing to do with their tribes, but more to do with using politics as a vehicle for power and wealth. You too can do it, instead of being a cyber tribalist.

Be guided.
Your commentary is flawed!

The residency of Ngige in VI is the effect of a economic deficiency back in Anambra, the state he administered as an executive governor.

If he had done in Anambra what Asiwaju did in Lagos there would be no need of a VI vs Mushin compare in his narrative....

He failed to make a VI in Anambra. Thats why he is in a VI in Lagos.

It exhibits the incompetency of governance in SE....for an executive Governor to say publicly that he is resident of VI and better privileged than a resident in Mushin....both in a foreign land.

Should I go buy mansion in NY and blast Americans in ghetto that I am better than them? Look at my own country Nigeria....what chased me to America in first place, could the mansion not do me a lot of good in Nigeria?

TimeTraveler369:
Your analogy does not resonate with the TKO. VI is Cosmopolitan, Highbrow with towers owned by Corporations and Individuals from all over the world.

Mushin boy in all honesty must have respect for a VI boy, even after politics. The class of people are different, and even politicians are considered touts if you are in VI, they can not measure up intellectuals running corporations in VI. VI is owned by Intellectual Elites.

Intellectuals with cash is not a match for an ignorant Mushin politician.

So Ngige knows what he is talking about.
Ebenezer Obey, Fela Kuti, just two examples of people whose wealth and fame Ngige cannot touch....both lived in Mushin.

VI is just name popularized by colonial legacy. But it seems Ngige would rather have the name as a badge of honor anyway....even as he serially looses election after election in his homestate.

If Governor Tinubu in Lagos, who he mocks, has been as incompetent as Governor Ngige was in Anambra, Lagos State....whether VI or not, would be inhabitable and all its elites would flee as Ibo elites have all fled home and relocated to Lagos to escape kidnappers and assassins in SE.

DO YOU DISAGREEhuh

Faleke may live in Mushin but he is not running from kidnappers and nor hiding his daughters from baby factories.

Get sense when you talk!

God bless Asiwaju for making Lagos habitable for all. Can Ngige get a praise from his kinsmen at home?

Kaai....dont make me talk. My Alhaja is from Anambra. grin

What is this brouhaha about presidential candidate? I believe if kastinans had known that current happenings now is what Pmb presidency would bring to them, they would have preferred Jonathan.

Osibanjo is the vice president, Femi Gbajamiala is the speaker of house of reps, Fowler was the Chairman of Firs -I am still looking for how these have bettered the lives of the Yoruba masse.

You deny Igbos presidency,(true, only you do not have the capacity to so) thinking you want to hold them down still, some of you will still go to some Igbos to borrow you money. Is that not a shame?

After the shouts and positions in 2015 and now, the south west/Yorubas still have the highest numbers of suicides and suicide attempts, which are all as a of frustrations. Even if someone from the region becomes president, the case will still not change.
Apart from bragging rights, what does the ordinary Yoruba man gain?

You need sense Mr Op to think on how to generally better the lives of Nigerians rather than condescending your mind on regions.

We are looking forward that this great party, APC, can offer Igbos an opportunity for the presidency after our National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu might have gone there and spend eight years.

If you look at it, the South West is more prepared for the presidency in 2023 and we are believing that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has a better chance. We are still waiting for him to declare his intention and we are trying to prepare the ground for him and we are willing to support him. By the time he is through, he would look at how he could support the South East. The people of the South East should know that positions are not just given, they must struggle for it, we are not struggling enough.

Before you cry too much about this your obvious pain, remember that your people never got any better because of the presidency after 8 years. The current president has lost over 30 000 of his brothers to avoidable deaths even as he is the man on top, so who presidency epp?

Opening 10 threads about Igbo affairs daily can only contribute to your remaining in your low position.

Maybe you should first chew on that and cry for you own people first. Charity begins at home.
Anambra people should not comment at all on Igbo presidential ambition. You are no longer eligible.

I dont want to hear from you on any topic discussing Igbo 2023 presidential interest. Allow eligible sub-Igbo groups to contribute.

Imo, Ebonyi, Enugu, Ikwerre, Anioma.
These are eligible people and is where the PDP Presidential candidate must come from. Not from Anambra, not Abia.

I agree.

It is absurd and insulting for Igbo to ask for APC ticket.

Each state has 2 senators. A total of 10 senators in SE and none of them is a organic APC. The only one, Orji Kalu, in Abia is a donation from Fraternal Order of Looters of Nigeria.

Out of 5 governors, the only one, Hope Uzodimma, in Imo is a donation from Supreme Court to save grace for Igbo APC.

What is the use of Igbos in APC if they can't even score a goal at home?

Who in Yorubaland or Hausaland or MB will vote Igboman in APC when he is a reject in APC at home?

I need cogent reason to support giving APC ticket to Igbo in 2023.

Above is a quick list of Igbos in top APC membership, they have been in the party since its formation in 2015.

Notice that I did not include defectors like Andy Ubah, Arthur Eze, Orji Kalu.

For the legacy Igbos that were in APC in 2015 and till date.....are these people capable of winning votes for APC in their homeland?

There are five States in SE and APC failed to convincingly win Imo last election. It had to struggle in court to reclinch the State.

Ten Senators, only one is APC.

All the Igbo APC leaders are performing at below 20% in their own turf. They have failed to clinch additional state and even struggle to hold on to the one they won originally in 2015.

APC did not win any state in SE in 2019. The only APC senator from SE, Orji Kalu from Abia is a defector.

So the performance of Igbo APC in SE is a very sorry outcome.

If they are unable to win home States, how are they able to win away States?

It is a huge risk for APC to give its Presidential flag to Igbo....the loss will be a landmark across the nation.

The best opportunity Igbo has is in PDP. The calculation is not in your favor at all in APC.

Inputs are welcome.

Politics › Igbo 2023: A Blowout By Isa Funtua Before He Passed. by MetaPhysical(op): 7:12pm On Jul 21, 2020
Before we unravel the many thoughts of Nigerians about the trend that have sparked a debate on the chances of an Igbo president come election 2023, or the idea that the Igbo people feel marginalized in the country when it comes to politics, let us first talk about the origin of this Twitter trend.

The Igbo trend on Twitter ignited after a video of late Ismaila Isa-Funtua surfaced on social media. In the video, the business mogul was addressing a question that called for his opinion on the alleged marginalization of Igbo people feeling. Isa’s answer suggests the Igbo people are somehow responsible for their own alleged marginalization – he said in the video: “If they deserve to be president of Nigeria they should belong to a party… It is not turn by turn Nigeria…”

The post spurred serious debates on Twitter. Many people are now exploring the idea of having an Igbo president (or not) in the coming election. While some called for Nigeria to be restructured to accommodate the Igbo people, others pointed out that Nigerian elections and the presidency is not a matter of ethnicity but a matter of National Politics – They seem to share Isa’s point that claims Nigeria not to be a ‘turn by turn” country.

At every slight opportunity, these debates come up. Ismail Isa Funtua’s death and the video that went viral is the latest trigger for this one today on Twitter and Igbos will continue to trend and make their case known every other week until the Presidential Primaries take place in 2023
