Politics / Re: It’s Treasonable To Deploy Nigerian Army To Niger Without Senate Approval — MBF by MetaPhysical: 5:17am On Aug 13, 2023
MBF is correct, but also wrong.

Correct in the sense that Constitution is specific in saying "except with prior approval of Senate, no member of the AFN shall be deployed on combat duty outside Nigeria".

Wrong in the sense that, this is not Nigeria vs Niger, but Ecowas vs Niger. They also fail to imagine the narrative of peace mission to Niger. The President could declare he is sending a peace contingent, and thus side step Senate. It is not war, it is not combat....it is a peace mission. They are very wrong, and I might say deliberately mischievious in stating that failure to obtain Senate approval is treasonable. The word "treasonable" has become a buzz word lately and everyone is just throwing it, ineffectively, to cower their opponent.

When Constitution use the term " SHALL", it carries force and compliance is not negotiable. It removes all permissible instances under which the restriction could be then waived. So the offense of treason is not even possible, period! So it beats my mind to understand how MBF has found it convenient to attach treason to that statute to begin with. No where in constitution does it make it treasonable if the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces deploys his men and women to combat a foreign threat.

This guy is an idiot on several levels.
He acknowledged the report was rumor, yet he continued to feed rumor to public. He is an enemy of the public, and he has confessed to committing the offense. People like the author hide behind journalism, even though he is not a trained journalist, to manufacture conjectures, use the falsehood to exploit. The proceeds they earn is then used in buying or building mansion and riding very expensive plush cars, to further feed their overall goal of oppressing public.

When they are caught in face off with authorities then they turn to public to come to their aid.

What does this author want the public to do now? Does he want us to troop to the streets and protest on his behalf or what? Why is he calling public to be aware?

I don't get it, do you

The blame should now go to Tinubu.

Any crime in the SW, South Westerners should take the blame.

But any crime in the South East, Tinubu is to blame.

If Tinubu can make Abuja have like 10 companies or factories in his 8yrs, he'd go down in history as the best president Abuja ever had.

I mean, how can a nation's capital be known only for politics and spending of looted funds?

Very useless place for hustle

You missed his point.

Tinubu did not bring owambe to Lagos. He will not bring it to Abuja either. Owambe has its own life. The first white man to write journal about Yorubaland, Clapperton, reported witnessing drumming, music, dancing and celebrations in Yoruba towns. This was in 19th century, we are presently in 21st century.

Owambe follows where prosperity goes. Yoruba is bringing prosperity to Abuja. Period!

This guy is toeing the line of felony. He is conscious of that and his fear of the consequence can be heard in his address, as he keeps reminding himself that he has not crossed the line by demanding for a parallel government.

He also said in 2015 Buhari and APC talked about running parallel govt if Jonathan refused to hand over govt.

So, I have advise to give this f00l.

His perception of events in 2015 compared to events in 2023 is wrong.

In 2015, INEC declared Buhari winner of election. People in certain quarters, Peter Obi included, were urging Jonathan not to concede defeat, and not hand over government. In response, Buhari and APC made public announcement that as the legitimate holder of certificate of return for Presidential Election, they are protected by law to form government, and that's what they planned to do if Jonathan denied them succession.

In 2023, opposite is the case here. INEC declared, and gave certificate of return to Bola Tinubu and APC as winner of election. The law recognizes them to form next government, and Buhari is ready to hand over to a successor. Therefore the call for parallel government will be a truncation of order of law, and therefore a plan to topple government. A dangerous line to cross for anyone not in possession of certificate of return from INEC.

THERE ARE STILL FEW HOURS TO MAY 29TH. THIS GUY NEED TO HURRY UP AND DISMANTLE ALL PLANS HE HAD OF FORMING, AND RUNNING A PARALLEL GOVT. FAILING THAT, HE WILL HAVE HIMSELF TO BLAME.

Indeed. Tinubu will jail this clown and his co-travellers like the UK jailed Ekweremadu without any mention of Rishi Sunak the Prime Minister.

What Tinubu understands better than almost all Nigerian leaders put together is the principle of delegating optimally and effectively.

When you do that then you get competent men and women who will be so strong at their job that no one would dare call Tinubu when those men and women are doing their work.

When the AGF is an Iroko like Akeredolu or Fashola then why would anyone try and appeal to President Tinubu when Aketi or Fash has deliberated on a matter of law on behalf of Nigeria? It ends there.

Same as Sunak cannot even call the judge who handled the Ekweremadu case because he will be an unimpeachable and meritoriously qualified servant of the law the PM cannot compromise or influence.

These clowns should try any noise or disruptive behaviour under BAT. There will be no noise, histrionics and ambiguity as was the case under "charge and bail" Malami.

Just simple, brutal, swift, expert and unimpeachable application of the law that will land them.all in jail with no option of any Ohanaeze-type begging.

Precise and apt!

Obi is an illiterate. The fact he governed Anambra speaks volumes on politics in that state. He kept repeating that his mandate was stolen. Which mandate? Who gave him mandate?

He should instead be saying his prophecy was stolen. All these fake prophets had spoken of their dreams where they saw the biblical Peter sitting on a throne on the right side of God. To reinforce it, he would make trips to churches where a throne is placed in front for him to sit, amidst loud ovation. W

You are right, nobody, elected or not, is above the law. Kanu will therefore answer to the law.

Please speak intelligently. Courts don't interprete constitution, they interprete law. Law and constitution are different.

The court has not ruled on him jumping bail. The court has not ruled on charges of terrorism against him. What the court said is he was apprehended wrongfully. But he is in custody now, and his pending charges are not yet dismissed, so he will remain to answer those.

There will be new charges filed for his role in turning peaceful Endsars protest into violent riot in Lagos and giving explicit orders for assassination of a citizen.

I appreciate prominent people like Ohanaeze President, Chief Iwuanyawu, and Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, asking Buhari to release Nnamdi Kanu

However, this is no longer necessary. Nnamdi Kanu has already secured two court judgments that awarded him billions of Naira compensation against the federal government, as well as a court of appeal judgement discharging and releasing him

How can you be begging Federal government to release someone already released by the courts? Buhari is too lawless to obey court order

What people should be demanding for is adherence to the rule of law and the courts.

Stop begging the FG to release Nnamdi Kanu and demand the enforcement of court judgements!

The Court is an arm of government, it is not THE GOVERNMENT. Court officers are also not elected. President and NASS leaders are elected, and through these leadership the people voice and desire is acted and implemented.

It is the people desire that Kanu continue to be held.

If you want him released you will vote in Leadership that will express your desire for his release.

What do you think if Tinubu decides to do the same to Kanu now?

Is it only Kanu that can pronounce death and destruction on people without facing repercussions?

The judge that passed that judgement needs to be picked up to explain what grounds he has to release Kanu.

It is on record he directed his followers to destroy properties in Lagos, to find Tinubu and deal with him. New charges will be filed against Kanu for his leadership of a mob that hijacked peaceful Endsars protest and turned into violent looting and destruction.

FG is not done with him yet.

The only way out for his release will be an arrangement and acceptance of a referendum to exit Ibo territories from rest of Nigeria so the rest of us can progress in peace.

This scam called train tunnel has spiral staircase and glass window. grin grin grin

The video is put together to swell heads and boost ego in Anambra. What the author showed there is not a part of any bridge at all.

The first bridge by Julius Berger in Nigeria is Eko bridge. The bridge design had carriage tunnels for cabling and drainage. It was a success. In addition, there were two observation towers, one at each end of the bridge to monitor and control traffic on the bridge, as well for continuous survey of the area because there was fear the reinforcement anchored into the marshland could become unstable, but that has never happened. Ever since, JB has been building bridges with same concept in mind.

They create a end-to-end pathway for cabling and infrastructure for lighting, for drainage, for survey and periodic inspection. It also serves as a very secured conduit for power lines between cities or towns on either end of bridge. If there were water pipe, you could pass that through as well. In a nutshell, it is right of way for installation and maintenance of utilities for the bridge itself, and by extension neighbouring towns. If the tunnel has standing room with high ceiling, it is part of the future planning to sell space for parties looking for right of way access. Example - electric distribution, cellphone providers, and so on.

, limit videos like this to biafra news channel. Stop bringing scams and falsehood to Nigerians. You hear me? grin

Edited:
I forgot to add that a pathway for pedestrians could also have been integrated. This occurred to me after I saw what hammert wrote in his input

the whole of Southwest is not as developed as it should be and you are thinking like this it is the wish of those people to marry ladies from different places, what distanced me from grv is some of his speech which did not aligned with a true compatriot and I doubt his competence also other than that he is home and dry.
please change this your thinking it is too extreme
by the way why are you trying to make sure only a Yoruba man is in control of Southwest and don't tell me it is because other regions wouldn't agree what if that is what is impeding development in Nigeria does that mean that Southwest should follow suit on that path of destruction.
And lastly for all the yorubas remember that true is determined based on what you achieved according to their resources and not according to the growth of other states.

All the talk about suffering under bad governance is nonsense. You guys are not thinking.

The best examples of good governance in modern time Africa is represented under Ghaddafi of Libya, and independent South Africa under black leadership. Nowhere else in Africa has any good governance in those ranks...and still when you look at Libya or SA today they are no different than the worst governed places in rest of Africa. So there is really no sellable differentiator to argue support and advocacy for good governance, other than rhetorics that in effect is just a scam . You can swallow the rheyoric down your throat, i am too advanced in my logical reasoning and critical thinking to be duped by such simple jargons.

For me, native identity remains my grounds for patriotism, nothing else. Id take a poor government by a Yoruba person, over a good government by non-Yoruba.

Yorubas living under a poor leader can self-reflect, self-correct and self-calibrate new standards and guidelines to tweak successive administrations until such a time that good leadership is a default. With pains and suffering of today, we can steer gains of progress into our future.

In contrast, Yorubas living under a good leader have no comparative advantage in which their society can build excellence.

Get sense!
