CrimeAutopsy Result Reveals Late Air Force Cadet Officer, Chidiebere Was Murdered by Metrix147(op): 4:36pm On Sep 11, 2024
An autopsy result has indicated that the death of Nigerian Air Force Tarmac Four cadet officer, Emmanuel Chidiebere Onyeomereneche was attributable to murder and not drowning.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AsXr_ZocP4

This contradicts initial assumptions and speculations surrounding the circumstances of his demise.

A police source, who was involved in the investigation into the death of the late Chidiebere, told our correspondent on Tuesday that autopsy confirmed that the officer was likely murdered at Hotel Royal Damgrete in Umuahia, Abia State, and thrown into the hotel swimming pool to cover up the crime.

The autopsy result was made available to ABN TV by the Father, Mr. Ephraim Onyeomereneche on Tuesday after media chat with journalists.

The result shows that the late Air Force cadet officer died as a result of intracranial haematoma and skull fracture at occipital and right parietal region.

Contrary to report that Chidiebere drowned in a swimming pool at Hotel Royal Damgrete in Abia State on April 9, 2024, Onyeomereneche claims that his son was murdered, citing an autopsy conducted on June 29 which he said revealed the cause of death could be linked to poison.

He believed that Chidiebere's death was orchestrated by one of his son’s colleagues.

However, the autopsy report for the late Chidiebere, issued on August 18, 2024, and authenticated by a team of renowned medical specialists, including Prof. M. A. Nnoli, Assoc. Prof. Jegede O.O., Dr. Chukwuegbo C.C., and Dr. Ogbata S.E., categorically rules out poisoning as the fatal factor.

Part of the autopsy result reads: "We certify the cause of death in our opinion to be: 1a. Intracranial Haematoma; 1b. Skeletal Injury (Skull Fracture - Occipital & Right Parietal Region) and 1c. Soft Tissue Injury (Blunt Head Trauma - Occipital Region).

"Summary of Cause of Death: Following the sudden blunt injury (soft tissue injury) at the back of the neck with consequent formation of subcutaneous haematoma and fracture as stated above, there is likely damage to vasomotor/baroreceptor centres and nerve roots as the area is very prone to injury.”

"These structures control the cardiovascular and respiratory centres and could have accounted for sudden death seen,"
it reads.

The governor of Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti has absolved himself of wrongdoing with regards to unpaid salaries of workers in the state, instead saying that administrations that came before him ought to be held accountable.

The governor in his monthly media chat in Umuahia, the state capital insists that it is unfair to hold him responsible, saying he is cleaning the mess of someone else and should be commended.

"Some of the salary arrears were not disclosed, until not too long ago and anytime I spoke in the past, my predecessors would take me on as if I was lying and the people who are being owed were quiet", he stated.

According to Otti, when he came on board, his administration cleared the salaries past administrations owned.

He said the state government entered an agreement with Abia State University (ABSU), College of Education (technical) Arochukwu, and the state-owned polytechnic located in Aba, some of whom staff were owed between 33 to 36 months.

The governor said the state is paying these arrears of salaries in addition to other debts owed by the past administrations.

The governor while reiterating that his administration will pay up owed salaries appealed that nobody should put a gun to his head.

"I'm not owing anybody, I have not owed anybody since I took over office", the governor clarified.

While describing the owed salaries as inherited, he assured that his administration would clear the backlog as funds are available.

PoliticsChief Fred Idika Sets Record Straight Of Arochukwu-ohafia Road (video) by Metrix147(op): 5:32pm On Sep 03, 2024
To clarify the controversy surrounding the Ohafia-Arochukwu roads, Chief Fred Idika (Ekwueme Ohafia), a renowned son of Ohafia, has come forward to set the record straight on the road’s construction and maintenance.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxMwwVQi62o
According to Chief Idika, the road was initially constructed during the administration of Dr. Michael Okpara, with subsequent administrations carrying out maintenance and rehabilitation work.

He listed the administrations of Professor Chimere Ikokwu, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, and President Buhari as having contributed to the road's development.

Chief Idika also disputed the claim made by the media office of Governor Alex Otti regarding the road's length, stating that the distance between Ohafia and Arochukwu is approximately 27 to 30 kilometers, not 41 kilometers as claimed.

The Ohafia chief commended Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for his significant contributions to infrastructural development in Abia North, describing him as one of the finest senators in terms of quality representation and infrastructural development.

Chief Idika emphasized the importance of giving credit where it is due and called for collaboration among governments to make Abia State an exemplary state. He noted that no administration can fulfill 100% of society's needs, likening administrations to passing soldiers, while the state remains.

A stalwart of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia, Chief Ndubuisi Emeh has accused the governor of the state, Dr. Alex Otti of deceiving the people of the state with the recent flag-off of the 41.2klm Ohafia-Arochukwu expressway.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5piydiSiyv4
Speaking with ABN TV on the sideline of Ohafia North stakeholders meeting of APC on Saturday, Chief Ndubuisi said the project had already been flagged off by the immediate past administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that the claim by the state government is false.

He said the road cannot be flagged off twice, advising the governor to instead find out why the pace of work is slow and not to claim to have flagged off a road already being handled by another contractor.

The APC stalwart challenged the governor to demonstrate his eagerness to transform Abia infrastructure by focusing on other roads, order than one already being handled by the federal government.

"Abians were crying, saying they're looking for messiah or angel, or whatever thing they can call who they were expecting. The man has come now, Abians have started crying again", he said.

CrimeImo Widow Who Lost 2 Sons Within 3 Days Seeks Assistance To Hold Their Burial by Metrix147(op): 2:55pm On Aug 21, 2024
A 60-year-old Imo widow, Mrs Josephine Nwaeze has urged Nigerians, government and non-governmental organisations, faith-based groups and individuals to support her in offsetting the cost of burying her two sons, Chisimdi Peter Nwaeze, 32 and Chimezie Nwaeze, 30 who died in a space of three days.

The distraught widow who had single-handedly raised the two sons, along with their sister identified as Amarachi Nwaeze after losing her husband Joseph Nwaeze about 15 years ago said the pain of losing her two grown-up sons is unbearable.

Narrating to ABN TV the circumstances surrounding the painful death of her sons, Mrs. Nwaeze who spoke through her only surviving daughter said her first son Chisimdi has been very sick since last year.

She said the illness affected his legs, making it difficult for him to walk.

She added that after several efforts, he started manifesting good signs of recovery in the village where he was being treated but could not walk.

Things however took a new twist earlier this month when everyone returned from a church programme one fateful day and found him lying on the floor, purging and vomiting without any prior signs of ill health.

She further said Chisimdi was immediately rushed to the hospital same evening.

Things however got worse, as his health kept deteriorating. He could not make it back alive as medical workers on duty pronounced him dead before the following morning of Sunday, July 21.

"There was no need of taking him to the mortuary because, to begin with, there was no money for that, so we buried him on Monday".

On how her second son died, Mrs. Nwaeze speaking further through the daughter said that it was also shocking to the family.

"After the burial of Chisimdi, we started cleaning up the house, because visitors were still coming for condolences. It was even the younger one, Chimezie who was doing it, I was only assisting him.

"Before 8pm, he started behaving strangely and everyone was surprised and shocked. He started purging and I invited my sister, a nurse, so she came and administered medication on him and the purging stopped", she noted.

According to her, things however took a new twist when his tummy started swelling and going down, along with his muscles.

A ray of hope that came could not last long, as he later died in the morning of Wednesday, the second in a space of three days.

The widow and her only daughter are therefore urging for assistance to help in giving Chisimdi and his brother Chimezie a proper burial.

FamilyWoman's Public Plea For Sewing Machines In Abia Sparks Investigation (video) by Metrix147(op): 5:46pm On Aug 17, 2024
On August 16, 2024, a woman, identified as Mrs. Simon Amina, was spotted with a placard in Umuahia, Abia State, soliciting help to acquire sewing machines. Her sign included her account number, prompting ABN TV to investigate further.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O67wrpsYSc4
Upon interviewing Mrs. Amina, it was revealed that she runs a sewing training program with 15 students and aims to empower young women by teaching them a valuable skill. She claimed to need additional machines to expand her training capacity, stating, "I want to take a lot of girls out from the street" and provide them with an opportunity to learn sewing.

However, the investigation also uncovered that Mrs. Amina already possesses modern sewing machines, leading some to question the authenticity of her plea. Critics argue that she should donate her existing machines to those in greater need rather than soliciting more.

The incident has sparked a debate about the legitimacy of public pleas for assistance and the responsibility that comes with soliciting help from others.

While some see Mrs. Amina's actions as a genuine attempt to make a positive impact, others view it as a stunt or an opportunity to exploit generosity.

PoliticsProtest: They Will Waste You, Deputy Speaker Kalu Tells Ndigbo (Video) by Metrix147(op): 9:48pm On Jul 31, 2024
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has warned Igbos to stay away from the planned nationwide protest against hunger, high cost of living, and hyperinflation, warning that they will be wasted.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdCd6Sfkd8U

Featuring on ABN TV's Political Perspective, Kalu representing Bende federal constituency of Abia State said the blood of Igbos have been spilled so long a time and must henceforth be avoided.

Some groups across the country have been drumming for support on social media to draw the attention of the federal government to what they tag as escalating hardship, increasing cost of living, and a drastic reduction in living standard, as well as insecurity.

The federal government in response to the planned protest has however urged the organisers to consider dropping the plan, saying the President Bola Tinubu-led administration is making efforts to address their demands.

Recall that the federal government had approved the release of 20 trucks of rice to each of the 36 states of the federation for distribution among needy citizens.

Additionally, the government has also approved the N70,000 minimum wage bill brought before it by the National Assembly for commencement of implementation, a policy believed to be aiming at enhancing the take-home pay of workers across the country.

Also, the federal government said it has set up centres for citizens to purchase 50kg of rice at a 50% discounted race to help families have more to feed.

The Deputy Speaker however believes there is no need to embark on the protest, as the federal government is making efforts to address the economic challenges facing the country.

He therefore urged Igbos to stay away, because they would be wasted.

He told Igbos, "Igbos stay away, Igbos stay in your houses, they will target you and they will waste you.

"Igbos you have died enough. Our blood has filled the street enough. Allow those who feel they can do it, let them go and do it. We will be strong enough, for this protest, let us be weak, let those who are strong stand in the street.

"Igbos be weak now, it is the only sit-at-home that will be effective, not the one you do on Mondays"
, he stated.

He said, "They are looking for opportunity to slaughter you", without specifically mentioning who the "they" were.

Many Igbo groups have said they will not be part of the protest, including Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council.

PoliticsSenator Kalu Advocates For Part-Time Legislature To Cut Costs (Video) by Metrix147(op): 7:34am On Jul 21, 2024
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, has suggested that the National Assembly and state legislatures operate on a part-time basis to reduce financial burdens on the government.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiKt2LerCRk

In an exclusive interview with ABN TV in the US, Kalu proposed a constitutional amendment to enable lawmakers to sit for only three months, with four sessions per year, and emergency sittings when necessary.

He argued that this move would help streamline government expenses and promote trust among Nigerians.

Kalu, a former Governor of Abia State, noted that lawmakers' salaries are modest and do not justify the current full-time arrangement. He emphasized that this change could be part of a broader strategy to improve government efficiency.

The senator's proposal aligns with recent calls for a part-time legislature, aiming to reduce costs and enhance effectiveness.
