Online application, 14th April 2015, Biometrics 16th April 2015, UNB, PhD Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering. Passport requested 29th May 2015.

Four months' SOA with a balance of 4.4m
Scholarship award letter by my state government
International Differential fee Scholarship from UNB worth 4200+ CAD for three years

Employment:
Letter of appointment
Letter of promotion
Letter of introduction

Quick question folks:

There is an instruction in the letter that was sent to me that: your passport must be valid for the duration of your expected stay in Canada. Please note we cannot issue a visa beyond the expiry date of the passport.


Please can I renew my passport now before handing-it to them because my passport expires in February 2016 and I am going for a 4 year program.

Cos I intend using my paternal uncle(a distance one) who doesn't share my surname as sponsor. I grew knwing him as my dad's brother not same parent though and he's already sponsoring is kids in canada. My worry is how do I prove our relationship?

So true, I see this as the devil's handwork and the VO's aint smiling from the look of things. Their really looking for ways and excuses to limit Nigerian applicants. It is well!

We sudnt restrict ourselves into thinking only ppeoplee on heere apply for TRV.
And the guy that did supply chain...U said it urself MASTERS...dis VOS believe u cnt intend to do apply for a masters just for d ssake of it.
If he applied for a diploma he myt nt have gotten d same reply.



All in all let's just try to put ourself in best favorable position we can while packaging our application and be positive and believe in God

Nwanne my tuition na 14,200 per year ooh for University of Manitoba. Also Brandon gave me admission and their tuition is cheaper at 6k per year but I no sure say job go dey the city. The huzle wey i mean na normal working huzle to work and study and pay fees and bills.

Lol, that's an area where you have lots of blacks, but bus 8 don't work till 1am, and the 400$ houses are they all inclusive? for me I stay out late, so I always prefer a place that has bus 95, or at least not far from bus 95 bus stop, St. Laurent is fine, you have lots of blacks in there too, and relatively cheap.

Blair area is cool too, Montreal area is fine, bus 12. But let him states his main preference, hopefully I can give better suggestion.

Just to clarify something here, even 400$ at fairlea is super difficult, maybe it was easy when you were here though, but I feel he should not plan on 400$ so he doesn't get stranded. That's my view though.

Although I know this is based on the individual, how much do you think is ok for personal expenses for a year in Canada, excluding accommodation? A range will be fine.

Also, I'm heading to Ottawa. Is 800 CAD too much to pay for accommodation per month? It is a campus suite which I will call fully serviced: heat, water, laundry, gym, furniture, Internet, full bathroom but sharing room with 1 person. Should I look to get lower? I hear housing in Ottawa is generally quite affordable.

@Kepner you're heading to Ottawa as well right. Any thoughts?

Brother, I agree that you were trying to help. The incident that happened was a clear case of miscommunication. I know you have lived most of ur life in Canada. Advise from me that I've lived 26yrs in naija and 5 in Canada I would advise that u choose your words carefully before addressing Nigerians lol. Nigeria na one kind country wey textbook no fit truly analyze, we believe so much in respect. So take am easy my brother it is well. Just talk softly and tweak ur words make people feel comfortable. You are blessed.

I work in an engineering company as well and u are right the p.eng makes a lot of sense as it translates to higher salary and more respect in the industry. You are blessed sir. Have a wonderful day

I don't get why people are getting their panties in a bunch, I never insulted anyone and even said I don't think you are lying. I gave you my opinion and told you exactly why I think that way. Your replies does not refute those points in anyway, or explain why, you just said again that another people also got those admission.

Only insecure people start going personal, I am here to give my opinion and help people from my motherland with absolutely nothing to gain (especially people that want to stay and excel here). I am in energy, you need your p. Eng to be in certain positions. If you think I am wrong, you can respond as a grown up and move on.

I don't deserve to be in Canada? Haha, I've lived 3/4 of life in Canada. I know more about Canada than I do of naija. I am also man enough to say I do not know about a certain topics when I don't, as a I've already done on this thread a bunch of times.

I am not sure.Might be possible. I know with my qualification(MBA n work exp), sometime ago, i wanted HR but i was told i didnt qualify for that except i first do a one year diploma in HR.
So, i'm just not sure.
I suggest u send a mail to whichever school u are interested in, and ask what your chances are.

A lot of people have been passing opinions as facts, Do not apply for things you can't afford. Masters is way more expensive and honestly a naija B.Sc does not hold up to a Canadian B.Sc, everybody know that, including the people looking at your application. A post graduate diploma is still an upgrade to a naija B.Sc. People here even do post grad diploma after going to university. If you apply for Masters you might have a better chance, but it puts a higher burden to prove that you can pay your fees and day to day living.

People are being denied on a case by case basis. It might be that you are not among the top choices during the period you applied and they have met their quota or many other reasons. Again thousands of people apply from almost every country in the world, including the states that is next door. Apply to what makes the most sense to you.

Lets not confuse people.

... @mevisbleek ... U funny sha ... College no mean say refusal.... Visa app is case by case.... Plus u have to keep in mind VOs are humans... they make silly decisions at times... U have no idea what mood the VO is... I can bet u that she will reapply with same documents but a better written SOP and secure her visa...

Note that not everybody can get admission into masters. That is the reason why majority tend to go for colleges.


I personally feel it boils down to having a simple case.
I feel this VOS are done assessing complex scenerios.

There is no point doing that, I'm basically saying to you to avoid asking people to contact you privately for chat, if you want to contact people feel free to do that.
