please i will like to know if the Canada immigration visa is real, and how can i process it with no Bleep up, cos i learn t that i will have to travel to Ghana several times before the visa can be granted, please enlightening me, thanks
Yes, the Canadian visa is real. No disrespect, I disagree with the back and forth travel to Ghana. To process the visa without a bleep you would have to submit accurate and truthful documents. For a list of document you would have to read through this forum because people have posted the relevant documents in the past. I'm sorry this might seem convoluted for you but don't worry u will be just fine trust me. Oya start reading from page 200

@mevisbleek, i guess u should be addressing this to @Fhemmy. I was asking if the whole "..some people pay 50% tax" on Phemmy's post was necessary, as it did not relate to the issue on ground!
I'm so sorry sir. Don't be upset sir

I'm just saying to console my brother na. Why u getting all upset. Max tax in Alberta is 38%. I haven't heared of any canadian province that collects 50. I carefully chose my word. I said lots and not all na take it easy of me. I'm not trying to discuss income and all I was just trying to make him understand how here can get difficult sometimes. Of u pay 50% thumbs up, u must be a high roller, short collar big boss. No disrespect lol

Manover's application looks great but I did see a slight ish there.
His bsc and his intended course of study correlate, computer science and info tech, but does it match what he does at the moment?
He has 5man diesel trucks and a business he runs, does d business match what he's going to study?
And who will look after it while he's away, the business is a good home tie, but is he coming back to it?

Just my thoughts tho, no one has to agree.
Who will look after it shouldn't be the Vo's problem. The main thing is he has good travel history, academic progression and solid home tie so Whatelse are they looking na.

@oyeleye well said
@oyeleye well said.i think the problem V.Os hve is the difficulty in believing who is truly going to canada to study.i recently peruse the cic's site sedulously and some of the reasons highligted for limiting visas is the actions of past applicants that have used student visa as a cheap means of entry into canada to carry out illicit acts such as prostitution&drug trade.
So i think the onus lie on applicants to present truthful explanations and documents where necessary.Tho grace of the almigthy speaks volume.
Moreso,i also think applications are reviewed at first by Niajas working at the embassy while they transfer to their superiors when they are satisfied on an app for approval. So naija knows well wen an app aint speaking right.
God help us all.shalom
I think I agree with u about apps been reviewed by a Nigerian before been transfered to vo. U know say our people can feel so privileged when them dey work for oyinbo Lmao. Just saying

I guess it's better to say , if u hold a canadian pr you are likely to get a 10yr US visa.
It increases the likelihood but I've seen Canadian permanent residents (Nigerian and otherwise) refused a US visa and was given a 2yr visa first time I applied (as a PR).

It always boils down to the same thing: each case is different.
Hmmm ur own case must really be different cos awon goons mi all got 10yrs. Wow thanks for the info now I know. Thank u sir

I'm new in the forum but I have enjoyed reading the wise counsel of many on here. Having completed my Masters abroad myself and now currently in Canada, I would like to encourage you not to be discouraged.
It can be really stressful applying and waiting following a returned application but like someone quoted earlier on here, "what is in the heart would soon be in the hand".

In applying though, it is important to note a few things:
1) Your application is representing you. It is standing in your place in the VO's eyes. It is your first and only impression thus you have to make it count.
2) Applying for the student visa, it like attending a job interview, except this time, you aren't there to defend yourself. You can't read the interviewer's expression and adjust accordingly, that is why the lovely people here help by giving insight and counsel on how your application looks to an outsider.
3) Having a very wealthy sponsor with lots of documents is not enough to convince the VO, remember, they have seen so many applications. I won't be surprised if there are only 5-10 VOs responsible for processing all the applications from those on here (and others who aren't on here).
4) The whole picture has to match up, the course, the school, and the funding. E.g. if you've a masters already and are going for a PGD, or anything less, it doesn't add up. If you've over 5yrs of experience in your field and are going for a diploma, it doesn't add up. If you have a >=N=100M and you're applying to a $5,000 college with no standing, it looks fishy.
5) Try not to blame the VO too much, it is others who have gone before you have muddied the waters thus making it more difficult for those coming behind them.
If u earn $300,000 a year and drive a Nissan sentra, does it add up?

The truth is that these guys work on a quota system and when it's approaching they try to scale down and it's also based on Luck.
Someone might not be mentally ready for a 4yr phd after his MBA and might decided to do a diploma just to acquire additional knowledge.

The truth is that our economy is bad and these guys prey on us. When I applied for us visa, the VO didn't ask me any question, he was only suggesting some restaurant I should try out when I get to Baltimore. After all said and done he gave me 10yrs visa. If it were to be in naija they will just do anyhow.

I pray buhari govt does something better cos these people called vos are just messing with us. Sorry tho I'm kinda sounding harsh but I'm super upset with what is happening to my fellow Nigerians. Inukwa

This denial abi delay as we call it is becoming ridiculous. There is no way to know what a perfect application should look like. When people ask me for suggestions on how to reapply I find it hard to give I proper answer cos I dunno what to say.

My fellow NL's I think it's better to apply to some other country if you are delayed cos this is getting ridiculous. Looking into countries like Australia won't be a bad idea because the economy is pretty much the same if not better than canada. Please let's think about this for a second I beg. I'm now taking this whole delay stuff personal.

The elders in my village will say "them no dey stand one place dey watch masquerade".

twizzie:
Just a question I think the VO may ask..
Why will a company you started work with last month give you a study leave for a year or more? Why then did they employ you? Make sure that reason is addressed in your SOP...My opinion!!
Hi Crich. I agree with twizzie. Why will a company hire u knowing that u will go for 1 year, that mean they will have to hire someone else to feel ur space for that 1 year period. To me this makes no business sense for the company. It's also a daunting task for hr to hire. Considering the fact that the world is becoming an employers market.

Hmmm I'm thinking. Is there no way to leave out the study leave story cos it doesn't seem 100% solid. If u were truly given study leave then I guess u can put it. But before God and man if u were not given study leave let's all brain storm and look for a stronger story.

My text might seem kind of rude but trust me I have no intention of been rude. :-) I'm just trying to help.

Good evening everyone. Please can someone tell me if a Nigerian Law graduate can study for masters in Canada without doing any additional program before the masters, seeing as Canada is also a common law country? I don't know if I captured the question well but pls I need an answer. Thanks.

I'll also appreciate it if anyone can suggest a University apart from unis in Quebec. Thanks in advance.
Greetings Mam/Sir,
I hope this message meets you well. I guess your question is regarding Pre-masters. I would say it depends on your Nigerian grades tho. If its not quite up to what the school wants they might ask you to do a Pre-masters to better evaluate your educational capability.
If you don't mind me asking, what course are you coming to study? Also, I would appreciate if you can tell me your budget. With both information in hand I can advise you on some schools to apply to.
I see you a law grad, have you thought about applying for JD (Juris Doctor)?

invincible2006:
Hello all,

First of all i will like say i'm very lucky with my application and i know it's just prayers. I did not submitted much documents since i don't have much to submit.

I must say must of the times when i see the list of docs people post here asking for a review before they submit there application, or the docs people have already submitted, i always get scared that my visa application might be refused since i didn't submit much docs. I have no travel history, in fact i never travel outside the Nigerian border, my longest travel is to Lagos for my Biometrics cheesy. I never had any work experience since i'm still a corper undergoing my NYSC, i have no other home tie expect my Mother, Siblings and my long term Goal(which i clearly stated on my SOP), i have no other sponsor apart from my Mom who earns a pretty good salary but has nothing in her account since she use the money for day to day activities.

But some few pages back, a brother here classifies visa applicants as "Simple" and "Complex" applicants, after seeing that, i consider myself as a simple applicant, this help me so much in reducing the tension, i just keep praying and hopping for the best.

But my application is unique in a way, i was giving a full scholarship from my faculty covering both tuition and living expenses. also i was going for masters in Computer Science which is the same course i did during my B.Sc, i graduated last year. so with all that being said, here are my docs.

I submitted online on: April 11 and did my Biometrics on April 16.

CIC Docs

- Application Form
- Family information form
- Letter of Acceptance
- Request for medical exams (which i uploaded in the place they ask for "Request for medical exams"wink

Financial documents

- Scholarship letter from my faculty indication full scholarship in the amount of 17500 CAD per year for two years and an opportunity to apply for teaching/lab assistantship which i can earn more money.
- My personal SOA with balance of about 1m
- My mom payslip and SOA
- Letter of consent from my mom
- Two certificated of land owned by my mom
- Mom work ID card and promotion letter

Supporting documents

- SOP (A very detailed one)
- Two letter of referees from my B.Sc. lecturers
- B.Sc Cert
- B.Sc Transcript
- NECO result
- Cert of my Industrial training during B.Sc ( which i did in an IT department of a Bank)
- Cert of IT related conference i attained during my B.Sc
- An award i received from my undergraduate faculty as the Best Software Programmer
- Cert of birth
- Police Character Certificate
- NYSC Call up letter since i don't have NYSC discharged cert
- Letter of introduction from my NYSC PPA since i'm doing my NYSC at the IT department of a government organisation
- Study permit questionnaire

That's all guys, Thank you all!
Sorry about my long essay grin
Congrats bro, this your case be like wetin immigration canada dey use as training manual, it's too clean. Thanks for sharing ur timeline as well

My oga, good morning for that your end. if it is possible for him to renew from Nigeria that might be fine, but I disagree with you on the bolded.
I heard alot of bad stuffs about the Ottawa embassy, but I renewed my passport there in less than 2 hours, and I have had dealings with them 3 times this year, all my experience with them was first class, far better than any service I got from any Nigeria agency even while in Nigeria.

Maybe they were bad before now, but things have changed for the better. I am proud of them.
