ty4real123: Ex-First Lady Turai and late ex-President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Madam Turai Musa Yar’Adua, wife of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, has lamented that Nigeria is in a precarious state today because her husband’s regime was cut short by his sickness and eventual death.
She noted that Nigeria would have been much better if the late President had finished his tenure but for the lingering sickness that eventually terminated his vision-driven life.
“The situation in Nigeria would have been better had my husband, the late President, survived his ailment because he was a focused, committed and determined leader.
“Although my husband was sick for a long time, he did his very best for Nigeria. Also as governor of Katsina State, he did his best for the state; he is an honest man who believed in service,” she said.
Underscoring the humility of Musa Yar’Adua, she said he once told her that his relatives would quarrel with her after his death as they would think that he had left so much money.
The former First Lady, who spoke at a recent memorial lecture in honour of the late President in Katsina, also said: “The late Yar’Adua was not a materialist leader who believed in accumulating wealth. In fact, he shunned material things as his slogan was service to humanity.
“There was a time he said to me: ‘Turai, I pity you because when I die you will have quarrels with my relatives because they will think I have so much money in my possession’.”
Extolling his virtues as a leader, Madam Turai said the late President would not give out contract without having the money to pay for it.
“There was a time I approached him that people are complaining that the government was slow. But he said to me, ‘people can say whatever they like but I will not give out contract if I have no money to pay’.
“The late Umaru was a kind of leader that would go out and monitor projects. I could recall when I used to join him to supervise hospital and road projects,” she said.

she picked just 3 things. When we got to the counter the cashier said the bill is 870. I was shocked again that she didn't get more things for herself. With joy, I gave the cashier 1000 and told him to keep the change.

A customer care officer of a first generation bank, which was attacked by armed robbers last Saturday, Larry Ehizo, has stated that he began planning how to carry out the operation in October 2019.
Ehizo, who recanted his earlier claim that a barman, Ernest Ewim, blackmailed him into carrying out the attempted heist, said he started nursing the idea having monitored the security system and the processes in the bank.
The customer care officer said, “Everything Ewim said is true; he didn’t threaten me. I willingly collected his number and I called him and he said I should give him a few days.
“When I called him, I simply told him how they would go in, where they would see the riot policeman guarding the bank and how to disconnect the CCTV. On Friday night during our meeting, we had issues with getting a driver.”
When asked the motive for the crime, Ehizo simply stated, “I was just greedy; I thought it was something simple that I could just pull off. I had taken time to study everything; I started thinking about it since October.
“Maybe, because I work inside, I felt I could take the money. So, I gradually mapped out where the CCTV is, where the police officer stays, his movement, how people are stationed over the weekend and how the ATM functions over the weekend. I took time to map it out for over a month.”
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command had arrested the sixth member of the gang, Ewim, at his hideout on Wednesday.
Wearing dreadlocks and dressed in a light blue denim jacket and matching blue jeans, the suspect sustained injuries in his legs.
Blood oozed out of his right ear as he spoke to PUNCH Metro in Abuja on Thursday.
The police had earlier gunned down a member of the gang, identified as Patrick, and arrested four others during the failed operation.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, had on Tuesday paraded four gang members including Ehizo, 30, as well as Timothy Joe, 21; Princewill Obinna, 24; and Elijah David, 19.
Ewim, who doubles as a barman and disc jockey at the Ever Ready Hotel, Mpape, explained that he organised the gang that carried out the foiled heist at Ehizo’s request.
Narrating how he became involved in the attempted robbery, the 29-year-old said he met Ehizo at the customer care desk of the bank when he was having issues with his account.
He explained that after addressing his complaints, the bank official took his phone number and called him two days later, promising to give him a job.
Ewim stated, “After two days, I received a call from Ehizo, who identified himself and said he had a job for me. Two days later, he called back and said he would like to see me.
“He said he wanted to attack the bank branches in Mpape and Mararaba. I said I was not a robber. He asked if I could provide boys for him, so I told Obinna, a photographer, about it because I learnt that he was very stubborn and could fight.”

lavylilly: So your man tells you he is not planning on having kids or getting married anytime soon as he is still sorting out his life... He tells you he wants to have his second degree, a proper house and a bigger car first. You sit there smiling with just a birth certificate thinking how 'lucky' a wife you'll be? With the little he has, you ask for Brazilian hair and designer shoes. He goes to work and then straight to class after work. He leaves you in pyjamas in the morning and returns to find you in the same pyjamas in the evening. While he studies you watch 'African Magic' and 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'. He comes back home to find pap and chicken in the microwave. The only serious conversation you ever have is about the type of groceries you guys need.
The only advice you give him is "Babe you need to buy a new pair of socks, the ones you bought last time are torn." Nothing intelligent comes out of your mouth. No plans of making your own life better. Yes you're are pretty but this days is all about what you are made off not beauty even pretty ladies don't marry handsome men if their pocket is empty, no doubt about that. But so is every second girl passing by.
Don't you realise that you're not doing anything a maid can't do? When he finishes studying, the first thing he will do is REPLACE HIS MAID. Because then he would be able to afford a maid and have a PROPER WIFE who has brains. That's when we are going hear your infamous last words, "I was with him through thick and thin when he had nothing, now that he is successful he thinks I am nothing."
Truth is, yes, you're right. You've always been NOTHING but a maid to him.
My dear, empower yourself to be the woman a successful man wants to be with... a woman who would be able to sustain her home if anything happens to his job or his health!

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of N131.237,800.00 and multi-million Naira property bought with funds allegedly stolen from the Federal Ministry of Power by seven persons and two companies.
Justice Taiwo Taiwo made the order on Wednesday (December 18, 2019) following an application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The defendants are: Bilikisu Fatolu, Fatolu Shuaib Gbolahan, I. I. Ikwuegbu, Nwachukwu Ogbonna C., Elvic Hotel, Abdullahi Aminu Hamcheta, Shamia Exclusive International Ltd, Abdullahi Abubakar Danburam and Dada Matthew Olugbenga.
The properties are located in Abuja, Kaduna, Kogi and Nassarawa States.
They include: A unit of three bedrooms, two units of shops, a shop in an open space, a plot of land, Elvic Hotel with an events hall, generator house and appurtenances, a piece of land, eight units of shops and restroom.
Others are: A plot of land, one unit of two bedroom detached bungalow, two units of shops, two hectares of land and bank drafts and cheques bearing the sum of N131.237,800.00.
The sums and properties were first forfeited in the interim by Justice Dimgba J on October 19, 2018, pursuant to an ex parte application of September 28, 2018, filed by EFCC counsel O. O Adeola.
Granting his prayer, Justice Dimgba directed the EFCC to cause to be published in The Nation Newspaper so that any person or corporate body who may have interest in the properties and the sum of money, may within 14 days of the publication, show cause why the properties should not be forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
But, following Justice Dimgba’s transfer to another jurisdiction, the matter was assigned to Justice Taiwo.
At the hearing of the motion on notice on Dec 16, the EFCC informed the court that it had complied with the instruction and published the said order in The Nation of November 5, 2018 and that the EFCC had succeeded in personally serving all the defendants.
Granting the anti-graft agency’s prayer for final forfeiture, Justice Taiwo said he had established service of the processes against the defendants as can be seen from the records of the court.
He said: “It means that none of the defendants can deny that they are not aware of this suit which has to do with forfeiture of their interests in properties, the subject matter of this application, jointly or severally.
“I have gone through the affidavit before me which remain unchallenged and uncontroverted.
“I have stated above that the defendants are aware of this suit. They filed no counter affidavit to show that the properties and the huge sum of money found in the accounts of some of them are not proceeds of crime.
“These defendants are said to have stolen money from the Ministry of Power by fraudulent schemes and that they were arrested and they all volunteered written statements.
“They were said to have acquired properties with the stolen money, yet they filed no counter affidavit to these very weighty allegations of criminality. In any case they were said to have admitted during investigation to have stolen the funds from the Ministry of Power.”
The judge noted that he would be failing in his duty not to act according to the law and in line with judicial precedent if he did not grant the application for final forfeiture.
Justice Taiwo added: “I hereby order final forfeiture of the properties listed in the schedule of assets and properties attached to the motion on notice to the Federal Government of Nigeria. It means that this application is meritorious.
“All the orders sought vide the application on notice dated the 19th day of November 2018 are hereby granted as prayed. This is the judgement of the court.”

Kwanza: The Federal Government has ordered an investigation into the Friday invasion of the Federal High Court, Abuja, by the operatives of the Department of State Service, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, has said.
The DSS, in their bid to rearrest the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the February 2019 general election, Omoyele Sowore, had invaded the court, during which the judge fled the scene.
Malami spoke to reporters on the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, after paying a courtesy visit to the Chief Judge of the court, Justice John Tsoho.
He evaded question on the reason for Sowore’s rearrest, which had drawn criticisms locally and internationally.
Fielding questions from reporters, he said he did not visit the Chief Judge over Sowore’s case but to congratulate him on his confirmation by the Senate as the substantive Chief Judge of the Federal High Court.
Asked if he was not appalled by the DSS’ conduct, Malami said, “Whatever affects the integrity of the court is a worrisome issue for us.
“I can never be preemptive of an incident over which I was not a live witness to.”
He added, “But one thing I am certain of is that the government has put in place mechanism for investigation of the reported incident.
“So, I would not like to be preemptive in terms of a conclusion, one way or the other, without allowing the consummation and conclusion of the investigation process.”
