You know, the major reason for this sensors are to correct pilot errors...as a safety precaution...but when they malfunction....my broda it takes only God and a really experienced pilot to save the day.....the installed software can dabaru the entire structure of a plane no matter how solid the structure is... Then most of this fancy pants pilots cant fly without this auto assistance... again....they become clueless if it malfunction...they will just be following protocol dat is dependant on a system that has already failed.....

Yeah you have a point there.but let me summarize what am trying to say. "remove mCAS from the plane and does the plane have an issue with tilting up? Yes it does so for me not good enough.
Now other Boeing plane models that don't have mCAS do they have this issue of Bose tilting up? No.
Now can you see where I am coming from.?
Boeing had better make sure they implement the right solution cos this plane self even with the upgrade Na still one eye I go take dey look am.

I don't mean hardware as in hardware. I meant hardware in terms of the whole plane Itself. It's total design and aerodynamic behavior. Forgive me for my language using hardware as in electronic hardware jare. I dey vex for boeing. The planes aerodynamics was altered due to to this new engines so why not redesign the whole thing instead of relying on sensors and software to correct it. Software should only come in critical situations.cheers

If they knew they were going to put a bigger engine on the plane that would alter the planes aerodynamics could they not have redesigned the plane to behave normally then MCAs would just be used for extremely emergency situations.

This is what happens when you try to have software to correct a hardware/design fault. mCas should not have to come in beacause the airplane has a tendency to tilt upwards due to the large engines. It should be so redundant that it comes up in critical situations which are of course critical and not as a result of inherent design fault.

Hello I bought some batteries in Ali express to ship to Nigeria. But now the seller is telling me they don't ship to here that it is classified dangerous goods and am confused cos I have seen a lot of batteries bought from Ali express. What shipping company do you think will ship to Nigeria. ?

All I see is a software acting as/like a cheat code to correct a hardware problem. For me o MCAS should not be used to trim an airplane because the airplane has a physical attributes that can make it's nose shoot upwards thereby going into a stall.this means it's a design problem. mCAS shoud be used as a redundant measure or stand by when a plane is in cruise flight or something. It should be a software that says "hey the aerodynamics of this plane is perfectly ok and you as the pilot can take off with no issues and I will only step in if some force majeure were to occur" and not "errrm this plane has tendency to shoot up its nose by design so I am just here to adjust it for you while you just focus on flying the plane. We will be doing it side by side. ".

I think this issue has been addressed many times over the years and the response has been constant. There just isn't a material in existence from which a big enough parachute(s) to cushion the fall of a 300 ton airplane moving with any sort of momentum. Such will be too big to carry and too complicated to deploy safely.

For the same reasons had parachutes for individual passengers been discarded as an unworkable idea. Too many people, too complicated a routine and moreover no two air crashes/incidents are ever the same. It is one thing to have an aircraft run out of fuel and slowly drift to peril over several hours and it is another for an instantaneous and catastrophic failure to the airframe to occur giving little chance of escape.

The world has come to accept that is it better to build better, more reliable and safer aircraft than to dwell on escape systems. Theyhave come to accept the random nature of accidents that no one escape system will work in all cases and if an airplane is in serious distress....you are essentially... done.

You are right.i read it on a science site. The whole idea is so complicated but what if the aircraft was built in such a way that it stores higly pressurised packets of air all around the plane and then depending on which direction the plane is falling or should I say if the plane is falling to the ground just about a few feet or meters this packes of air are release with such force such that it just counteracts all the speed of the fall there by making the plane hit the ground with less force. Think of it as having a engine that provides thrust downwards. I hope you get what am trying to say. Might seem wierd but I feel it may be feasible.

On 29 October 2018, a brand new Boeing 737 MAX 8 flight JT610 owned by Lion Air travelling from Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang on the island of Bangka crashed into the Java Sea 12 minutes after takeoff. All 189 passengers and crew were killed in the accident.

Investigations revealed that the crash was caused by the automated “angle of attack” (AOA) anti-stall sensor that activated the system and was giving a false reading.

A stall is a dangerous situation where the lift from an aircraft's wings no longer is enough to counter the weight of the plane, causing it to lose control and fall.

The malfunction initiated a 12-minute tug of war as the system — called the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS) — repeatedly forced the plane’s nose down and the pilots brought it back up again.

At the end of this wrestling match, the pilots lost control and the jet went into a steep dive, crashing into the Java Sea at approximately 500 miles per hour.

US airlines pilot union say Boeing did not include any mention of the new system in the Aircraft Flight Manual. Further, the system activates automatically with no notice given to the pilot and they have also not being taught how to respond if it malfunctions. The pilots say they actually learned about MCAS after the LionAir crash.

In November, Boeing delivered the ill-fated 737 Max 8 plane to Ethiopia Airlines maybe without informing them of the MCAS system issues or training their pilots on how to handle the system if it malfunctions.

On Thursday March 7, 2019 just 3 days ago, a Seattle personal-injury law firm sued Boeing on behalf of the families of 17 Indonesian passengers who died in the crash.

Today the Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max 8 has crashed just 6 minutes after take off. Could the same system be responsible?

Most likely YES and the rest of the 737 Max 8 and 9 in operation should be grounded until a solution is found and pilots trained on how to deal with a malfuntion of the system to avert another disaster.
