Hello mamas... been a while here, lots of rollacoaster but glad toinform you that my baby boy came on 24th May 2022 as against 31st May after 36hrs of induction/ labour.

Please bear with me as BS may come late Had to relocate to a new country so settling down with baby and family hadn't been easy. We just also got discharged today.

BS will definitely come abeg just take this my BA for now

I like the warm cloth pressing, maybe because it helps me sleep well and makes my body feel so relaxed. but that sitting on steam is not easy

I learned we should run away from that steam o. Instead do a sitz bath with just warm water mixed with salt and dettol/purit. It makes episiotomy heals fast while steam aggravates it.

I was pressed with hot water over two weeks and I don't know why the bleeding stopped so quick. As for the belly wrinkles, none of the women in my family experienced it, maybe that's why I didn't too.

I just remembered that at ATG (ask the gynecologist) group on Facebook, the doctors says pressing is not needed and that no need for hot water drinking or pressing too. They say the uterus will go back to its normal size as long as you do EBF. There have been so much debates over it.

I have hormonal imbalance, maybe that's the reason the bleeding stopped early? I don't know.

I read that too on ATG. I'm thinking it could be body differences because after bleeding stops I usually don't menstrate until I wean my babies.

Its stretch marks that causes the wrinkling, I used hot water but since I had no stretch mark on my tummy, it didn't wrinkle. As for the second question, I think it depends on what went down during the delivery, no blood was scooped out of me or evacuated after birth.I was given only a small cut which healed within a week and bleeding stopped on the fourth day after delivery.

Stretch marks does not cause the wrinkling. When your belly is overstretched by 2 or more pregnancies and you exercise to lose the belly fat, they'll be wrinkling though not everyone experience it.

Bleeding stopping 4 days post delivery is not good (I stand to be corrected though). They say the bad blood needs to be expelled and that's why the belly is pressed with hot water. I blend for 6 weeks after VD of my first. Second was via CS and I bled for about 2 weeks.

As for strecth marks, some people say shea butter works. I haven't had it on my belly before just black ones on my back that clears by itself after pregnancy.

What a detailed BS mama Omakraid. God who has started this good work in you will bring it to completion.

Birth Alert!!!

I gave birth to my handsome Prince on 20th May at exactly 8:20pm through vagina delivery with plenty of tears weighing 2.9kg after about more than 12 hours of labor.
May the God of perfection who has done it for me and other mamas surely deliver our remaining mothers in prefect conditions.
BTW, my labour was rigorous and painful as hell maybe because it was my first time therefore, I'll be dropping my BS much later.

The Lord blessed us with a beautiful princess yesterday at 8:15pm via VD in about 3 rigorous hours of labour.

Hmmm...you see this sex thingy after CS, I did the do even before 6 weeks post partum check up after CS. Just ask your doctor dear.

This same sugarcane I heard widens the vagina....dunno if it's true though.

@mama vivi01, talk to your doctor about the way you feel. You can resume bedroom activities when you are mentally and emotionally ready but you have to use protection since you have to avoid pregnancy for now. Eat lots of oranges, the vit. C therein helps heals the wound faster. Don't carry anything heavier than your baby. Don't pound using mortar and pestle due to the pressure it'll exert on you. Take lots of rest and don't skip your medications.

Mamas I told my dr I sometimes feel light headed and dizzynso she said I should stop pregnacare and start using Astyfer and vitamin c once daily.

And Is it advicable to take anti malaria drugs at 35weeks? I thought we can't take it after 34;weeks.. lol, am just looking for excuse not to take this fansidar drugs because e dey show me sheygeh

Astyfer is safe. Maybe it was prescribed because of the high iron content. There was a day i almost fainted in someone's shop due to dizziness, i couldn't drive myself back. Got to the hospital, blood level checked and it was good, my crime was i didn't eat much food...hmmmm now i don't wait to be hungry before eating bevause it was not a nice experience at all. So eat well if you are not already.
I also treated malaria at 34 weeks because it was double positive.

Not safe. I will recommend using only one bike that will be coming to pick you everyday. Pay him double and tell him you just had an operation. He'll ride you gently (now why does that last line sound weird )

How about the Govt Hospital at Barracks road? Any review?

I haven't heard of them having facilities for child delivery. Premier is a private hospital and so is St. Luke's Hospital Anua, not much difference in price compared to Premier. I would have recommended uniuyo medical center (inside uniuyo along Ikpa Road). I had my first child there but I didn't like the fact that there was no doctor in attendance during the birthing process but the nurses were super good, infact they changed my perception of nurses. Another downside is lack of bed space. Dunno about their prices now though but in 2015, I paid 30k for normal vaginal delivery.
