This is a variant of the mamba snake . |
Clearly a 2004, Not an 06. |
eeewise:. An 07? I hope your balance shaft is okay though. You need 8Litres of 0w 40 or 5w 40 synthetic engine oil in addition to an oil filter for servicing. I am not familiar with benin so I can’t recommend an mb mechanic there. When parking on hills or other areas which aren't well leveled, engage the parking brake first before putting it in park (your ISM will last longer if you follow this routine). Check the roof/boot drain seals for cracks/leakages... So that water ingress won't ruin your Rear S.A.M and other electrical bits. Get a portable scanner so that u can do minor diagnostics on your own. Don't drive it like a maniac, the suspension bits are a bit pricey. Overall, you will enjoy it if you take care of it. The fuel economy is very reasonable for its size, i used to get about 18mpg combined in mixed driving conditions,21mpg+ on highway trips. |
awesome9ja:I have owned two w164s. There’s no such thing as a two wheel drive 2006-2008 Mercedes ML. RWD became optional on that platform in the 2009-2011 model years. The prefacelifts were all 4matics as standard from the factory. |
The 6.7L powerstroke could be challenging to use here because of it’s emissions system. TheCarWizard on youtube made a video about these generation of Ford powerstrokes. I still think cummins makes much better diesel powertrains (their old V8 diesels are highly sought after). It’s just a pity that only few dodge and Nissan trucks have that engine option. Sourcing parts will likely be a problem for the powerstrokes, I sincerely hope you have a trusted contact abroad who could source parts for you quickly once the need arises. |
He probably recognized one of the kidnappers.. |
This particular info is of interest to me because I am planning to get a another vehicle next year, unfortunately, the brand seems to be a SARS magnet so I am very worried. I don't want to have any encounters with those thieves. |
mrbenjame:yes oh! |
mrbenjame:In the unlikely event of an accident, you simply document it by taking pictures/making a video and notifying ur insurer so that your claim can be settled. Most people here opt for one off yearly payments and the rate is determined by the market value of the car. Policies vary from one insurer to the other - it’s usually between 4% to 5% of the vehicle’s value. |
Ben404040:Done ✅ |
HeavenlyBang:I love the performance of the GS350. my main fear is the cost of the body parts - I guess insurance will be the only thing that will Make me sleep well at night. |
I am contemplating getting one of these as my next car. I need owner reviews from individuals who use these vehicles in Nigeria . My main concern is the availability/pricing of parts and the ability of the vehicle to stand the daily challenges of daily use in lagos traffic. I already have a competent mechanic that can handle all these. In order of appearance: 1. Mercedes c350 (w204) 2. Hyundai genesis (1st generation) 3. Lexus Gs350

1. Total Qwartz 5000quartz 5000? The weight of that oil is 20w 50 - way too thick for that engine. U made a mistake by using that kind of oil in the first place. I think ur recommended oil weight is 5w 30. |
Looks clean but this is NOT an 09, kindly cross check your details. |
STANTOOLS:it’s a V8. |
freekick:Jesus! Are you for Real? Is this your idea of dark humor? |
mimimiles93:you won't die well... Vultures will feast on the remains of ur corpse. slowpoke! |
FortifiedCity:that was my first assumption...lol |
And this dude is still alive? One of the reasons i am hustling to make money is to get my own brand of justice when the system fails - like it does 90% of the time. Forgiveness is for God, My own job is to set up the meeting. |
Antoeni:they are paying lip service to the whole thing, they have been talking about reforms since 2016! I am fed up! FSARs is a state sponsored kidnapping/extortion syndicate. I do a legitimate job but i always have to delete my bank alerts because of these rogues. I have been harassed/beaten,dragged out of an uber and even had my car shot at by these animals. There’s zero accountability! The last resort for me if this fails is to leave the country permanently. |
Antoeni:na turn by turn, don’t worry. It will reach you eventually... |
U didn’t list model years |
diportivo:I didn’t really badmouth the Volvo in my case; i have owned an 05 Mdx Which is identical to an 06 mdx. I won’t recommend the volvo to someone who isn’t meticulous with vehicle maintenance, I used an 05 2.5t with AWD extensively in a family house in the east and i simply listed the challenges we faced. The Mdx is the easiest to maintain here and it’s parts are readily available. The V8 is better suited to the driving dynamics of the xc90 - it is a heavy vehicle and it doesn’t fail to remind you of that in corners. I actually like volvos and i am familiar with them- been eyeing a 2009 S80 Awd with the 3.2L NA inline 6 for sometime now. I drove a 2001 european market S80 T6 With the controversial GM 4speed gearbox for 2wks some years back and i loved that car, the owner told me he has had it for 5yrs and ironically,it has been the most reliable car he has ever owned. I like being objective in my vehicle assessment, Nigeria is a peculiar market with different variables. |
cloud:please! Don't! There's a very high chance that it will react with the hydrocarbons In your fuel tank and congeal into a gel like substance which will in turn ruin your fuel pump and injectors. Don't take that bait! Been following one simple rule since i started using my car - i dont let it go lower than half tank and my car has been doing just fine. |
valarinz:An 05 Xc90 2.5T with AWD, we kept one as a daily driver in the southeast, the parts were hard to find and expensive when compared to the other run of the mill Japanese suvs. We only had one volvo specialist nearby and the guy used to misbehave because he knew our choices were limited. The SUV drove like a tank though, I noticed that it went through tyres Like crazy because of its massive weight. Fun fact; i could park it almost anywhere without any fear of theft/vandalism. |
The mdx can stand the most abuse here but it’s a bit thirsty in stop and go traffic, the volvo only makes sense if you have a good technician that can handle it. |
AshipaEk0:lol, I don’t get ur armchair analysis. In the case of my own car, it doesn’t make sense dropping my engine... a single drop every 5 days which equates to about 0.1 litres every two months, i have been checking it for 5 months and counting, and it’s been the same. I am not dropping any driveline component until my transmission fluid is due for changing. I used an Acura ZDX which had a similar case in 2016, it had a negligible case- the engine was finally dropped less than a month ago when the transmission needed servicing. That car was in use for 4 yrs! I made that decision after weighing the pros and cons, I didn’t want just anyone to handle that procedure. This is NOT a one size fits all approach, that’s why I asked about the intensity of his own leak. My present car is still in near perfect condition with no check engine light. |
tatax:you will need to do a lil maths; do you use up to a litre to top up biweekly? Calculate the monthly oil top up cost x 12 months Versus the one time cost of changing that gasket with the associated labour cost/lubricant replacement cost. My car leaks oil too...a gasket seal cracked underneath when I parked the car for two Months but it drops once every 5 days or so. It doesn’t make economic sense to drop the entire engine for me when I can easily top up once every two months. Weigh the pros and cons. |
tatax:how significant is the oil leak? |
Samtobh:did this car at any point overheat during ur 'honeymoon' period? |
double3:na gazzuzz go answer this one. This is beyond my paygrade. |
ibbkiddsx:Go and find the recommended 5w 30 oil. Don’t USE 20w 50 on that engine. |

same issue still
