This is a false statement. You are only required to serve with a Green card if you were an alien, not citizenship requirements. Besides, if he becomes a naturalized citizen, it can be revoked if he violate his citizenship oath. How do I know? It's because I've been through the same process. Joined the U.S Marine as a green card holder, became a citizen thereafter. I rarely communicate here but was forced to correct some misinformation. Hope that helps. |
engrchykae:On the contrary. I'm one of the few people that sign up when this site first went up many years ago.. It's been a while for me being here. I just decided to log on today and was moved by her story. Thank you for letting me know. This is why most people doesn't like trust Nigerians, but it is shameful that we do have genuine people needing help out there. |
Miracle64:Hello Faith! I came across your story, and was moved with compassion. Although some Nigerians can be hard be believe somtimes, but I have been there before. Send me your cell number number and I will call you. I said that because I live outside the country. Peace. |
bist:You are such a big fool for your comment. So, this humongous gestures deserve no commendations from your myopic mind. |

The bible says whosever is without sin among you should be the first to cast a stone, but nobody could. Why? because their are no lesser sin nor a greater one. This lady has made a mistake, but all she's demanding is a logical and reasonable advice, not castigation. My advice to you is not to complicate issues any further, summon the courage and let the cat out of the bag to your parent. It's just a matter of time, you'll get over it. Do not try any abortion. Remember that conscience is an open wound, only the truth can heal it. |
It is even understandable if it is one jet, but owning FOUR jet is totally absurd. Billy Graham, one of the greatest evangelist ever lived, and whose ministry had impacted millions around the world, both spiritually and physical never had a Maserati, let alone a jet. The foolishness of Nigerian clearly shows that nothing is wrong with Nigeria, but with Nigerians. |
This is an interesting topic of which I'm happy to buttress a little contribution. Of a truth, much of what is said and enumerated above are true, but some are far from the it. Migrating to anywhere in the world is a matter of clear focus and determination; but sad enough, many seemed to lost it or don't even have it before leaving home. I came to America 9 years back legally with $85 on me, scooting with a family I've never known or met in my life for 5 month, upon realizing their intention of wanting to turn a grown up man into a nanny, I took the bull by the horn, I went to a recruiting station, sat for the military exam and signed up for 6yrs in the U.S Army reserve. Trained as an 88M specialist, the career lunched me as a transportation specialist for a couple of big companies, I was making money, but made education as my first priority which most Nigerians never taught of when they come in. At first it was hard combining many things together, but by the grace of God today, I would be through as an attorney next spring without student loan, no car loan and a house without mortgage. The bottom line of my story is that I learn to cut my coat according to my cloth. These I do with a clear cut focus, determination, and desire to succeed. Lot of Nigerians meddle with drug dealers and credit card scams and a host of shady deals to make it by all cost. Besides, most Nigerians are driven by ego, they live above their means and ensnares themselves with what I called avoidable debts. You'll will see them at every parties, occasions and buying stuff a senior official working in banks cannot afford. Castigating or painting America for a trouble we created ourselves, to me, it's unfair. I've been to every single states in America except for Hawaii, I've met people of different class, but what I've learnt if you must succeed in America and anywhere in the world is that moderation and focus is a key factor in a faraway land, because life is in physics and men are in sizes. Besides, there are ghetto everywhere in the world, but not as bad as you have painted it as compared to what we have back home. What you become or happen to you here in America is solely dependent on you, not the government. The ground is set for everything you ever wanted to become, good or bad, success or failure. |
No one believed Noah, until the flood came unexpected. The numerous event happening around the world is a tell-tale indicating the end is indeed imminent. Please send me an e-copy to mike4real201016@yahoo.com. Thanks |
I'm glad to have served in the U.S Military. However, I'm yet to see us replacing the use of a gun to a drone. Though a drone can strike with accurate precision, but its use can never equate that of an MP 16. With all respect to technology, the magic in a printed materials can hardly be rivaled. |
Oohrhii: A tactical move..Stupid people like you, deserve to be thrown in jail. What an arrant nonsensical comment. |
Justice42003: honestly this under age thing must stop. You are right my brother. I wonder how morally obtuse our nation has become with the likes of comment I see on NL. I totally agree with you on age limit, on this forum. I have long detest this forum with such immature trash people spew out without any sense of reasoning. I wonder what the future holds for Nigeria, with these shallow minds. So sad NL is now a forum for jokers and clowns. |
Olas2u or whoever you're, you can watch my post from today; for I'm very much occupied than to trade words like a gopher like you. Your post can undoubtedly tell this. I made it here with the help of God, by sheer hard work, dedication, and education. Besides, I can gracefully give you the address of the Orphanages homes, housing close to 50 children, which by God's Grace, I was instrumental to build in Nigeria; and supported by me over two years now. Not mentioning individuals. I'm contributing to people's lives in my small way before I left Nigeria, and still doing it till God takes my breath. Better go look for something worthwhile to keep busy and stop wasting your precious lives 24hrs on nairaland spewing trash. olas2u: You are self centered and you think of benefits to your immediate self and not society.some people built that place. |
It is no doubt that the quality of a nation, is dependent on the quality of its people. Most Nigerians are morally obtuse in their reasoning. And until this is changed, I doubt there can be a meaningful change. Can't we reason for goodness sake? With some of the immature comments on this thread, I doubt if the future would be anything better for Nigeria. I suggest the moderator should be sifting through some daft and illogical comments for deletion. How insane should a sane person drum and dances to the oblique evil state of our nation. Just four years today, I left Nigeria with $85 to U.S in a nation I had nobody; not even a friend. But today, I had cause to thank God. The same nations some retards out here condemn, gave me an opportunity to serve in their Armed forces without nobody's connection, but solely on merit. Now working at the State department and preparing for my LSAT when I can barely survived back then. My fear is that Nigeria will remain this way, unless there's a shift from mental foolishness, to logical reasoning, and holding these parasite leaders accountable. |
I was crying watching this video; and it's so appalling how bad we've traveled after 51 years. Rather than criticizing and bashing each other on this forum, I think it would make sense asking ourselves how we can make a change. I lived in U.S, served in the Army, and right now, I'm working with the state department but it was saddening, how degrading we're being looked down on. Please, let's go beyond this ethnic bigots, racial sentiment, tribalism, and stand for a positive change. The purpose of education is to effect a meaningful change; no matter how small. |
This is purely a myths. I lived and work in a key branch of US government.Texas is a population of 24 million and its needs 2/3 of that population to secede. This is just gimmicks by some selected nuisance. Nothing like it would ever happen. |
Having read all the post above, it is obvious that no one is immaculate. We all struggle with one weaknesses or the other, and that is the basis of Jesus death at Calvary. Unlike everyone here, I've struggled with masturbation thinking I can fight it alone, but the more I tried, the worst I become, until I lay everything at His feet. Besides, get a good Christian brother or Sister you can confide in and pray together. Lastly, occupy your word with the Word of God, for it is a lamp to our feet, and a light to our path, Psalms II9 VS 11,105. Shalom. |
Understanding the Bible is the key to transformation. The bible does not establish killing in battle as a sin. Deliberate killing of a fellow human being is what resulted into sin. As an American soldier, and according to geneva convention, the only way a soldier can be subject to military court of justice is to kill an enemy noncombatant, i:e an unarmed enemy. In a nutshell, killing as a soldier is never a sin because you signed to defend, and die for your nation against any external aggression. |
Youve reaaly done a great work out there. God bless you. Toks2008: He’s the King of the Jews |

Going through all the comments so far, it is appaulling and sad to imagine how nigerian youths thinks. There should be pride in whatever brings you dignity. I was a Second class upper degree holder in accounting before moving to United States, guess what; I took up odd jobs i would never do in Nigeria all because of our pride and our ways of thinking. I joined the Army a year later, but today, i'm proud to choose a career in truck driving. I earned a week, what shell worker will earn in a month and i'm progressively pursuing a law degree. One thing leads into other when you have a vision. Do you guys know that having an experience in truck driving and owning one in Nigeria could earn you fifteen million in a month. My advice to you all is to learn to be productive in anything you do. Education in itself is not a means, but a means to an end. So, it's all about innovation and being industrious, 2/3 of of U.S work force comes from private businesses and not dependence on the government for job. Besides you must be very inteligent to get certified as a CDL driver in America. It entails knowing all the parts, the brake chambers, the air system, correct backing and packing techniques, how the transmission works, proper knowledge of geography and understanding international road signs. |
Mr. Globe Sacramento is California's capital and Springfield is Illinois capital as a point of correction. |
It's now obvious and sad to envisage how corrupt and deceitful we are as a nation. I was forced to reply this post after a year on these forum. I'm sorry whoever you may be, you're a blatant liar to come on this forum trying to portray who you're not. I have an account with TDAmeritrade & Schwab respectively & live in America and still serve in the U.S Army, yet i had no access to this IPO. I can give you names of BIG investors that were given a stake in this offer and how much was allocated to each. Just to correct some misleading trend on this forum. You can look me up on my facebk, i'm not anonymous. Let's try to be honest in everything we do. Nigeria is in a pathetic situation today because of people like you on these forum. playboy19: I just signed out of my Schwab account now... i bought some. And Yes i'm a Nigerian |
Is beta u pack all your money without sparing kobo, i lost more than 10 million naira on shares in intercontinental alone. Useless country. |
God will deliver tinubu into my hands oneday. All he owes me is just a trigger of a bullet. |
may be there should be minister for kerosine 2 regulates the prices of kerosene. |
This is absolutely nonsense, tambuwal or not, it's still the same crop of people. If we can air our views in this forum, why not began a mass mobilization of "Arab Springs" style of protest via the internet to liberate our nation of all these "aninis". |
fantastic idea. |
This is absolutely irresponsible. It's called (DUI) driving under influence in U.S, & it's a grievous offence with a minimum sentence of 364 days in jail, plus $25000 fine. |
Ithink he was right going by the millions of thieves his eight years had produced. |
To further buttress Daddy Adeboyes' integrity & contribution to his society and the world, check Vanguard Monday June 6, 2011 and see how he respectively had given 50 million naira as educational endowment fund to UNN and some numerous varsity in recent past. This is just to mention but few of what most credible men of God has been doing to better the lot of many around the nation, compared to your corrupt officials who goes about bragging even after looting everything. I'm not in nigeria, yet i keep abreast of current trend in nigeria. So, always think before posting comment. |
