All these you made mention of require government policies
That is for the history and taxation. But orientation, doesnt require govt policy n dat cn serve as short term solution

TonyeBarcanista:
My brother, I agree with you on need for national reorientation. But how do we achieve it? It is a process that will take quite a lot of time but can be facilitated if we have good leadership in place.

Buhari has failed us, this is a consensus! We need a new leader and he is Ibrahim Dankwambo
Now that process of reorientation is a long one but will benefit us in the long run. You will agree with me that someone who doesnt know where he's coming from will not know where he's going to. So therefore, we need to reintroduce history into our school curriculum and make dem compulsory just like maths and english, and also make it a necessity for gaining admission into the ivory towers.

Next, the SUGs of all schools in Nigeria should be reinstated, that is the only platform youths have to practice leadership on a political level. But when we dont have dat, its a budding disaster. Student's should also be tot d importance of elections so that even when dey vote in people for SUG, they dont just vote because its deir friend or based on campus popularity. At a time in my school, a gal went around hostels giving lap dances just to get voted in, tel me what she cn do for bigger posts.

Den to d immediate people we have nw, I'd propose that first religious institutions pay tax, dis is to show people that dey av a responsibility to the govt. And u knw that were ur treasure is, there ur heart will be also. Den people need to be taught about elections, dis definitely wont be done by the govt so a group will have to take that responsibility, go to churches, mosques, community halls and sensitize people, tel dem about all political positions, what is expected of such offices and how it affects dem directly or indirectly, den also the people power.

Another that should be done is that forums n blogging platforms should prevent the spread of false information.

By dis, we begin to bring some sanity into the system.

For me, I have come to realise that a leadership problem is d least of our problems in Nigeria. Why do I say so? Whether Dankwambo or Kwankwanso, we possibly would stil have foolish senators like Dino Melaye who will hamper the progress of this country.
Even we as citizens have big issues, most of it being dishonesty.
What then do we need? The citizens need to change their mindset for good and then get some orientation about election. The reason why fools get to the senate is first because people are less concerned about the flag bearer for their constituency, hence, vote the party they voted as president or whoever shares the better rice.
When we begin to count even the post of councillor important, we will begin to record a drastic positive change.
About the protest, please watch 200 million mumu part 3 by lagbaja on youtube, tell me what you think.

Davefirst:
Let me try to inform you on Mapoly first because I can see that you haven't done a background research of the school before this comment. MAPOLY is one of the Foremost Poly with Professor as the Rector of the school. Most of the HoDs in all department are either PHd holder or PHd in view, the departments in the school are well equipped more than most universities in the country; and the school has been independently run for over 6 years now through its IGR. Mapoly has been long due to be have become university. It's a welcome development for the State and the govt of the day.
Maybe you were a student of the school sha. But dyu know the information people outside have of mapoly?
The common information is that if u apply for mapoly, you'll get admission even if you scored very low in their aptitude test. This now shows that the school has a low standard. That's what we outside think.
PoliticsDeployment Of Officers And Ncos In Nigerias Armed Forces by michaelwilli(op): 8:11am On Dec 30, 2016
Late Lt Col Abu Ali has been in the North East before Buhari became president, I also watched a video where a soldier said he has been in the operation for two years.
In films and documentaries I have watched, soldiers from US or UK that have fought in wars did not fight for such long periods, some have a two months tour and go back home except in cases where they want to stay, and I believe this is because of the mental and general health of the soldiers, only a few soldiers who are key to the war stay around that long and they are not usually combat troops.

What is the idea behind our soldiers staying very long in the front lines, because I think after this insurgency, we would have to battle with many cases of PTSD, well, maybe its not a black man tin
EducationRe: Ogun Set To Convert MAPOLY To A University by michaelwilli(m): 7:43am On Dec 30, 2016
I sometimes do not understand the motive behind converting a polytechnic to a university because in real sense, they have different purposes. Universities have Profs as VCs while poly has a Doctor as a rector, there is a deficiency, even though the amount o books you have read doesnt determine the sense in ur head
Most poly lecturers dont even have masters, some are lecturing with B.sc, when you can't even lecture at a university with a B.sc except maybe as graduate assistant.
What should be done is that the standard of education and quality of instruction at this institutions be improvd, not conversion from one form to another. Befor i got admission into the poly, i heard that poly does practical well, but in my department, reverse was the case and many other departments i know of. An HP proliant server that costs millions of naira is left to gather dust in my department, switches and routers we should have used for networking practical are still inside their packaging.
The issue now is not facility, but instructors who have the technical know how to use this facilities to train students.
Other forms of improving our education should be sought, not conversion of one institution to another.

Rupa, 28, has her hair shaved at the Thiruthani Murugan Temple on Nov. 10 in Thiruttani, India, in the hopes that donating it to the gods will cure her daughter’s illness. It is common for Hindu believers to tonsure their hair at a temple as a young child and to mark other rites of passage.

The “temple hair,” as it’s known, is then auctioned off to a processing plant and then sold as pricey wigs and weaves in the US, Europe, and Africa.
