Oga michlins, this is 5 by 3 H channel ? if yes how much is it.
see the quotation i received from a welder in abuja for my water tank scaffold, whats your observation/comment/advise on it? any of the line items that i can negotiate.
Thanks alot Boss
the channel in the picture above is 6 by 3 H channel.

The quotation you sent is somewhat outrageous. Doing something similar for a Nairalander now and am doing it for less. But this is Nnewi and that place is Abuja so maybe things are a bit more expensive.

I wish you luck

Interesting, why people from diaspora are always the victim. Many people believe the pick money on the street. I can assure you even when many of those people that think that way, get opportunity to visit the pity them. Imagine working 2 jobs at the same time, just to survive. People will seat home help you calculate the exchange rate not knowing the way people earned dollars is different from naira. No one I repeat No one gives anything free there you most work extra and more extra to get anything extra, people lives in auto drive day in day out, because their life style is set on bills and taxes that will never stop.
sir the truth is that an average Nigerian is ill or not informed about the true reality of life abroad. To majority of us here in Nigeria, Yankee is a place of glorious tales where money grows on trees.

To most people, you work per hour and you're paid in dollars. You convert the dollars and money don full everywhere. So he or she will have zero remorse in milking his brother or sister based in diaspora.

And you people aren't helping matters with the way you answer to every cry for money. You give the impression that money is packed and waiting to be spent.

It is well sha

Every business has its own tricks o. Buying the equipment won’t guarantee you high ROI but understanding the tricks and knowing how to swim with the sharks.

_____

A lot of people (especially diaspora) jumped into trucking and haulage business because they were told it’s a money spinner. Years later, they regretted it.

Yet one local man Chekitaut has been in the game for decade + and he’s still waxing strong.
you played two entirely different scenario and so can't be compared. Building a bungalow from diaspora is like building a duplex from Nigeria because everyone will want to spend your dollar including people who didn't work for it. They will bill you tire. Baba chekitaut is waxing stronger because he manages his trucks from home and is ready to roll in the mud with the driver if he ever tries nonsense. Abroad people no get that luxury.

Having said that,if you venture in this wood drying business, you need area with good power supply and must be close to the market. You can't site it in Nnewi because everyone buys iron doors. But Lagos has high demand for wooden doors so take it close to them. You see that company, you must be present daily in it to avoid your workers taking the funds home and sending you the bills and salary to pay. Then you need to have access to woods on steady

Which is reasonable......

Except you have a kiln to dry the wood.

that's where the funds comes in. There are very few players in the industry and the demand is high. You will definitely recoup your funds

EgunMogaji2:
This is an industry that I intend to go into later on so I did a fair amount of research some years back.

Sure you can buy ovens and all but the best and least intrusive method is to let the timber dry naturally.

You’ll have a stock of timber’s strategically laid out in a yard. You’ll just test for moisture periodically and select those timber’s that pass the test for milling.

One of the first things I entertain in new business is how reliant it is on electricity. I don’t want any business that’ll require too much diesel purchase.
if you have the funds, go into the industry. Few weeks ago, I was told to buy wooden doors for a client. I couldn't because the furniture maker couldn't guarantee the time of delivery. His main reason was the unavailability of dry wood

Not weld, they just tie the reinforcement irons together.

All these new technologies still need some human touch.
I have seen this machine work and I know how it works.

My own is that they don't build one that will start welding
