Jesus! You will choose microbiology over pharmacy?! Lmao, you are probably among the mediocre students back then. Infact when I was still a student, some of my friends who failed their pharmacy classes were demoted to microbiology, so much for MCB i guess. Just say that you are not sure you can ever study the course and pass, don't undermine it ever. You might as well study Biochem ahead of medicine I guess too.

I do not understand this NFF. We should be thinking of pulling a memorable AFCON and World Cup with the talents we have. Look at the level their thinking.

The members of the NFF should call Bielsa. If he says no, call Sampaoli if he says no, call Leonardo. There is a big chance Leonardo will take the job. He has an eye for talents. Just as he helped discover Pato and Kaka for AC Milan. He helped discover Coutinho for Inter Milan.

Leonardo plays a creative beautiful brand of 4-4-2 that requires creative and attacking players that will suit of creative attacking young Stars. His style of play is similar to that of the great Brazilian team of the eighties with Zico and Socrates.

The NFF should set their targets high.
the NFF won't do listen to you even if they see this your post, why? Because you are making a lot of sense and frankly, the NFF just likes rubbish. I think the agents of these coaches are meeting them specially or something if not can someone please explain to me why a country like Nigeria would ever invite a coach like Berti Vogts for screening talkless of actually employing him, this is criminal injustice!

No matter how good you are, you are not irreplacable, if their teams don't want to release them, Siasia can't do anything, blame FIFA for that not Siasia, so I won't lose hope till the games start. Same people complained when he didn't take Mikel and Osaze, still we got to the final and there really is no assurance that we would have gone beyond that with those two anyways so please calm down people, and wait for the Olympics

For a reminder: The Pope represents Christ on Earth, he cannot ERR!
Sorry to cut you short but i am a catholic too, and the Pope does err, why then does the Pope go to confession? The Pope does not err only when he is delivering ex cathedra... That is when he is sitted on the throne of St Peter and is explaining(not formulating, a pope can never formulate) a doctrine. So you can't say that the Pope can never make a mistake in his personal life, he has his own human inclinations afterall

But you should know I am more humane and even more Christian (if I was) than you that use your religion to preach hate and discriminate against people who are different.
There is a huge difference between people who are different and homosexuals. White people are different, I do not hate them, muslims are different, dwarves, twins, deaf and dumbs, lame people, extremely tall people are all different and i do not hate them, but homosexuals?! If we you support homosexuals then you should support some criminals too because let's be honest, some become criminals due to their blood,so that means they are different and should be accepted too. Heck, everyone can lay claim to his own sin being natural if you want to put it that way, so we all should leave together, there should be no need for any prison yard or court, let's all tolerate

And since it is not a choice, there is no way you as a parent can control it. As far as i am concerned it is a disgusting orientation and you have to be really into it to allow someone put his thing into your thing. Either way, it is their life. Let them live it.
Please, Homosexuality is a choice. Before the NASS decided to ban homosexuality, they conducted a research on it and from what they discovered in Lagos, most if not all primary school students do not even understand what it is, it is when they go to secondary schools that the problem starts since they will invariably meet older people who will lure them away, if your ward lives in a hostel what can you do about it? Nothing, hence the need to ostracize them completely

Please you people should just note that the Pope speaks for the Catholics not the all Christians.

I agree that killing the gay people and hating on them is not good but apologizing to them is.. I don't know... That means the lesbian I spoke to yesterday should apologize to me for speaking ill of my belief ... That means that atheist that says God accepts adultery should also apologize to me because just like you say they have their own opinion to everything and anything including their sexuality and belief . I also have the right to one.. Though some Christians take this homophobia thing over board I see no reason to apologize to them..

That would be the argument of one.

The argument of another person will be that if God was able to apologize to Noah for destroying the world with a flood then we too should be able to apologize.

My opinion is that we should all love each other irrespective of our religion, sex, gender, belief, lifestyle whatsoever.. You cannot call yourself a Christian and you do not exhibit the life of one. When Jesus came he mingled with the poor, the demon possessed, the sinners.. All types of people.. So why can't you.. You cannot change a person if you don't show them love. If you truly want this gay stuff to stop which I know it can't you should show them love.. Show them what the Christian life is all about.
Where did God apologise to Noah? I think it's not in my bible.

Anyways, God only decided not to destroy the WHOLE EARTH again because there are some people in this world who can still be saved, but God did not spare a moments thought when he destroyed Sodom and he didn't even apologise for killing Lot's wife when he turned back, and since I am made in the image and likeness of God, I won't associate with them, although I won't kill them since it's not in my disposition but I will stay away from them hence i suffer the same fate as Lot's wife, Period!

Then by definition, based on your answer, you are the optimistic one, while he is the realistic one.

While you say we have emerged from such in the past, it is not true. This is the most difficult group we have ever been put in for a World Cup qualification. He is right to say that in the recent past we have flunked far easier groups. Therefore judging the future by the past, he is just been real about our chances especially when you add the NFF factor.

I don't see how his sanity is in question here and why he deserves to be hated.
I do not hate the man, just the concept he is propagating. And we have always fluffed the easy group but we have always qualified from the difficult ones. If Nacho plays CF, in a full season for Manchester City, his stats will amaze you. He is actually trained as a top striker, not a SS. He plays the SS role because of Aguero. He excels in the SS role because he is one of the most gifted players in the game. His goal stats is not a fluke.

If Iheanacho could not play as a Top striker, Pellegrini would never let Dzeko go. That is what your missing.

Same goes to the AMF role.
I think it was Jovetic that they let go because of Iheanacho and Jovetic is basically a SS too, although I am not sure but I think so

TheGoodJoe:

I get your point. The thing about this thing is that, when a player plays a particular role for a while, they get used to the pressure that comes with it.

Nacho as a young teen was exceptional with the pressure that comes with the attack midfield role. When the Cityzens coaches switched him, I did not watch him play in his training games but he will have difficulties adjusting.

That is the point. Difficulty adjusting does not mean he would not play well in the role.

Look at CR7 at the Euros. The more he adjusts to the lead role up front, the deadlier he becomes. Aguero would struggle to adjust as a creative midfielder as he was during his Atletico and Independiente days. Today he plays upfront but it does not make he can not adjust.

Putting Nacho upfront might not bring an immediate attacking spark as he does as a Support striker. With time, he would adjust.

I get your point but what I am pointing out is that players like Nacho, Aguero, Suarez, Neymar, Mess, CR7, De Bruyne can adjust to play any where within the creative attack, WF, SS and Striker roles.
yes we can agree on this. My point is based on his CURRENT position but ofcourse he can adjust but he can't just come to Nigeria during a FIFA break and start adjusting, the adjustment should start from his club so let's just use him as a deadly SS for the future but I do agree with your points though

Note: First of all, I was talking about Options for the Super Eagles in the long run... not the U-23.

That is what my post was about.

1) Naah... Wrong! Iheanacho shone as a lone striker in the FA cup vs Aston villa. He got A hattrick. grin

Worse as an AMF?? Go watch the Nigeria vs Luxembourg game again... lol... Nacho still got it. He's a no.10/no.9 Super Hybrid kind of player who can play as a CF, an SS, A false 9, An AMF, and a right/left wing (inverted) forward. His potentials are are still being nurtured but I have seen more than enough of Nacho in various positions across the attack in so many games for club and country to know that what I say is true. smiley

And yes he is also a right wing forward. He even played from the left (as a left wing inverted forward) twice or thrice for man city this past season.

2) Kayode's finishing is the issue. Very poor in finishing and his decision making in the final third is still worrisome.

3) So in the list I drew up, you will pick Aaron Samuel and Aminu Umar ahead of Ighalo??

4) Lolllll.... yeah I saw that... but I still think he is worth the trouble... wink

5) Pace is not what I am looking for here. I seek Technical giftedness if at all I seek forward options...... we have enough pacy players........ Akpom's technical attributes are not hair raising. But like Sir Linked said.... "The More, The ........" wink
Yes I know you were talking about the Super Eagles.

1) you might want to check my reply to SirGoodJoe, i can't really type it all again. Considering the Crystal Palace game in the FA cup against almost their second team, yes he played well there, there is really no striker on Earth who can't play as a lone striker, just that not all of them can play it well. And I maintain that he can't play the lone striker well against the top teams.

He hasn't played as an AMF for a very long time. Playing as an AMF is not thesame as a support striker.

2) Well Kayode is essential similar to Ideye, even does it better than him, so if we invite Ideye then Kayode deserves a spot too.

3) Well, considering their performances for the national team then I will choose Aaron Samuel before him and that's considerable now.

4) Pace is sometimes required. If we are playing against a team keeping a highline, he can come in at the dying stages and exploit their tired legs. He can play as a CF or as a winger if i remember correctly so he is not a bad backup option.
SportsRe: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Mickael2(m): 9:13am On Jun 24, 2016
TheGoodJoe:

Iheanacho can perform very well as a lone striker. Because you have not seen him play there, does not mean he can not perform well there.

Iheanacho can perform well as an attacking midfielder because he gets to drop deep and play as an attacking midfielder when he plays his support role.

In the Egypt game, he played as a Support striker. I disagree with him being poor. He dropped deep and coordinated play when he noticed we were not going to win the battle against the strong Egyptian defenders.

He had two strong shots, One the Keeper saved and the other led to the goal.

Remember Iheanacho's first Premier league goal against Crystal Palace. Even though it was for a few minutes, he played as the top striker, Replacing Bony. Aguero injured early in the game.

The Reason Nacho is so good as a support striker is because he can comfortably slip into different positions in the attack and midfield areas. He also packs a nice curling cross when he is on the left wing.
You once said something, that if someone starts playing as a SS, he has that freedom to roam. That's the thing there, playing as a SS is far far different from playing as a true AMF. Some fullbacks can attack better than a winger but when you play them solely as a winger they flop, examples abound. He can roam as a SS, which means he can enter into any position that he wants so that he can duly influence the game, but if he is the AMF, he is relatively rigid which means he can't drift into anyother position and he has to be part of the main press, so you get my point?

To be frank Ehn.... I don't think Nigeria needs Akpom.

Check out Nigeria's Options in the centre forward position:

(present and near future)

-Odion Ighalo

-Brown Ideye

-Isaac Success (yet to be capped)

-Victor Osimhen (we saw him at U-23 level)

-Sadiq Umar (yet to be capped)

-Aminu Umar (some don't even know he is a CF)

-Kelechi Iheanacho (anytime any day a whiz player in the CF or SS or false 9/AMF roles.. beast player).

-Aaron Samuel

-Fanendo Adi (yet to be capped)

So how is Akpom ahead of any of the above listed players?... The NFF should not waste time with Akpom please. Can they just focus more on Odubajo, Dominic Iorfa, Ehizibue, Ebuehi, And even Adarabioyo and Kigbu?

These are defensive options and defence is Nigeria's archilles heel now. We are well stocked for the next 10 yrs plus in attack and more will still rise and keep rising.... wink

Besides, he didn't consider us all this while till now because he knows he got no chance with England in the long run.

Akpom may eventually agree to play for us but he finds himself behind so many of the above listed players talents-wise.
I have a few issues with your comment.

1) Iheanacho CANNOT perform well as a lone striker, and he is even worse as an AMF. He hasn't played as an AMF for Man city ever, the day he played as an AMF for us against Egypt he was poor. He can only perform extremely well as a SS and a false 9, I am not too sure about him playing on the wings but that is yet to be seen.

2) Why are you guys not considering Olarewanju Kayode? The guy is just a more athletic version of Morata. He has a better work rate and plays better, just that he is in the Austrian league and yes, I have watched his full watches, not just highlights.

3) Odion Ighalo should be in the bottom of that list, does anyone know where Sani Emmanuel-our super sub in the 2009 U17, is?

4) I don't want Iorfa junior anywhere near the SE. Did you hear what his dad said? He said his son isn't going to represent us at the Olympics, and that his son is only going to represent us if he is yet to be capped by England when he turns 23, imagine the arrogance! Is his son the best player in the world? He should go and burn, let's treat him the way we treated Onuoha Nedum.

5) Chuba Akpom is a pacy guy. I think he can function as a good winger. Although well, Simon Moses, Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa, Isaac Success and some other young guns, I think he can add something there.

DONE DEAL: AS ROMA SNAP UP UMAR SADIQ AND NURA ABDULLAHI By Aanu Adeoye The Nigerian youngsters spent last season on loan at the Giallorossi, and the Italian club has now confirmed their signings on permanent deals Italian club AS Roma have announced the signing of Nigerian duo Umar Sadiq and Nura Abdullahi from Spezia on four- year contracts each. Sadiq and Abdullahi both spent last season on loan with Roma's Primavera squad in the Italian youth league, helping Alberto De Rossi's side to win the Italian championship. Roma have now confirmed they have exercised the option to sign both youngsters permanently, paying €2.5 million for each player. The 19-year-old Sadiq made his first team debut in November away at Bologna, scoring his first senior goal in a 2-0 win over Genoa in December. The highly rated striker scored twice in six appearances for the senior side last term. Abduallahi made 18 appearances last term for the Primavera, scoring two goals from his right back position. The duo was discovered by Kaduna- based Future Africa Football Academy and then transferred to Football Academy, Abuja, where they were sighted by scouts during a tour of Europe.

Nerd for standing up 4 Nigeria football,Mikael2 and co should be reminded that Nigeria almost defeated Italy in USA '94,just 2' + 3' added time that denied us that chance,Italy went on to play in the final,Bulgaria team we trashed 3-0 went as far as semifinal, even Argentina had to struggle to defeat us, what would have happened if we had succeeded, only God knows, perhaps we would have been would champion, and we would have dominated world football at least for 5ys.
Sir, read my replies well. I even said that the nigerian team of old were considered dark horses for the world title. I did not say that we were not good back then, no sir.

My point is that he said we would dominate in the coming years, then I made mention of the fact that other countries have good players coming out of their academies too
