it seems u guys have left the Super EAGLES THREAD in Hibernating mode. Make our superposters help revive d thread. that's football, you start with Chelsea and end with Manu. I am also kinda disappointed that the Super Eagles thread is going down |

adrainuche: Here's the list ...
Goalkeepers: Daniel Akpeyi, Emmanuel Daniel
Defenders: Muenfah Sincere, Kingsley Madu, Abdullahi Shehu, Saturday Erimuya, William Ekong, Ndifreke Udo, Stanley Amuzie
Midfielders: Oghenekaro Etebo, John Obi Mikel, Popoola Saliu, Okechukwu Azubuike, Usman Muhammed
Forwards: Aminu Umar, Imoh Ezekiel, Oluwafemi Ajayi, Sadiq Umar....
Awoniyi dint make the list and also Godwin Saviour .. Am surprised mikel obi made the list .... seems Umeruo would be heading to beskistas he won't be able to make the team ...obanor wasn't also picked he might be on stand by !!! I think this list is better !!!
I dunno about Saturday Erimuya and udo I hope they are justified !!! Seems we would be playing a 4-3-3 !!!
Attack looks exciting
E. Daniel
Shehu .... Ekong ..... Saturday ..... Madu
......... Azubuike...... Etebo......Papoolo
......... Aminu ..... Sadiq ....... Imoh
We can also play 4-2-3-1
Daniel
....... Seth Ekong Saturday Amuzie
... ....Shehu .. ....Azubuike
........ Aminu .. Etebo........ imoh
..... Ajayi/ Sadiq
It seems sia one head is getting there .... now it's a bit promising !!! I thought Popoola is an Amf? So you want to play 2 Amfs in a 4-3-3? It's destined to fail. And we both know Mikel will start so it won't even happen. Your 4-2-3-1 looks more tactical, ofcourse with Mikel in place of Shehu |

chrisooblog: bros NFF are many things but i seriously doubt they will force coaches to field certain players. was it NFF that said he should not start iheanacho, iwobi or onazi? siasia is too involved in marketing some of his players so his objectivity in selecting our best legs is suspect he did start them in the first leg didn't he? And Iheanacho wasn't so good. His own is not even part, he deserved to be benched. It was Iwobi that I was suprised about though. But I think something must have happened. |

goldfish80: Even last season, La palmas, Real Sociedad, Deportivo had considerable high amount of possession. Truth was that barca were evolving or in transition when he came in,especially when the major component of that ticki taka game was on the wane (Xavi). Its a bit mindless kicking Tata for the short spell he enjoyed at Barcelona. Abi you think Barca will go for someone who has different philosophy to their game? He went 23games unbeaten at some point with Barca.
Which coach in the world wouldn't depend on a fit Messi? Name one.
Did you watch his Paraguay team at the world cup in SA?
If you believe he plays direct football ala Tony Pulis or Sam Alardyce, then you obviously don't know the man or what he is all about. I specifically mentioned Rayo. Rayo are a counter attacking team yet they won the possession game. He has no Plan B, ofcourse you can depend on Messi but you need a plan B. If you have a team with Messi, Neymar and Iniesta and a 22 game unbeaten streak with 9 or 10 draws isn't something to shout about. There are various ways of playing direct football. You have the long ball technique and the direct passing technique. He uses the direct pass technique, where you always want to move forward and that forces you to fall into a more counter-attack based system, it's simple to understand. What Pulis and Allardyce play is called 'route one' football, long balls. |

goldfish80: What's wrong with Tata martino? His brand of high tempo, ticki taka, youthful, high pressing and possession based game is reminiscent of Marcelo Bielsa's. To think he took Paraguay to unprecedented levels by reaching the Copa America final and getting to the world cup 1/4 finals. His Argentina side crushed all opponents enroute the infamous loss to Chile. Frankly, he pisses over whatever Salisu or PLG can offer. You dint coach Barca if ure not one of the best around.
Allejandro Sabbella won't have much language barrier I suppose. He spent more than 4yrs with Leeds and one other team in England.
Personally, I am an advocate for getting the best coach from South America or Eastern Europe since it appears our best heads have kicked the bucket. The system we operate with our burocracy is almost the same with the south Americans and Eastern Europeans, especially the Serbs. I wish the FA are thinking along these lines. Correction, Tata does not play a possession based game. He does not play tiki take, he plays a direct style of football. Under him, Barca recorded their worst ever possession ratio, imagine even Rayo won the possession battle against Barca. He is an average coach, simple as that. When Argentina could not score against Chile, what did he do? Nothing, he has no plan B, either Messi scores or Messi sets up someone to score, he was the creator of the Messidependencia era of Barcelona, look it up. |

tbaba1234: Siasia is not our best local coach. He has just had the most opportunities. Plus he has had many failures..
Keshi and Amodu were much better.
Siasia weaknesses was what made us fail to qualify. He has never had a good defence.. correction, Amodu wasn't better, he just got better results. But if you have to pick either Amodu or Siasia for a beautiful football playing team, there is no argument there, except if you are a chelsea fan. Keshi is arguably but not totally so, I still rate Siasia better. He has never had the oppurtunity to assemble a good defence. His U20 at the 2005 games had the best defence in the tournament, same as the U23 in 2008, our defence messed up real bad at the olympics qualifiers but let's be honest, those are local lads. |

I understand that his selections were funny but he was not under any contract, and we all know what the NFF is all about, they may have hand-picked them for him and since he does not have a contract,he does not have a say. This is simple. Until he messes up at the Olympics proper, I will still believe he is good, he did win the U23 with local lads from academies not even NPFL teams |

If you people can stop celebrating past glory and look at the last 4 years, you'll want to plank him as well. Stop making excuses for the nigga, Amodu was qualifying for tournaments with far worse odds than Siasia ever got, so what are we talking about? Ok tell me what he has done these past 4 years? His U23 qualified didn't they? Sure they did, what has he failed to do? You are basing your arguments on a few recent FRIENDLY GAMES. goldfish80: Honestly speaking, PLG hasn't had much success since leaving Lyon. Naturally, he's quite an authoritarian and loves establishing control, this hasn't won him much friends that's why he hasn't had any gig in Europe since 2008. Even when the Australians wanted to hire him when they binned Pim Veerbek, at the last minute the deal fell through.
The major reason why I was taken by the idea of him as Super eagles coach was because, I believed he would go an extra mile to make an impact to restore his fledgling reputation. He's at an age where it's make or mar for him, I believe it would have worked in our favour.
Salisu Yusuf is just not the answer, I don't know how the press has managed to build him up that majority of Nigerians feel he is the messiah.
Personally, I would want the NFF to get someone like Tata Martino or Allejandro Sabbella (the Argentine coach to the last World Cup). People like these guys could do a good job for us. Their clime and ours aren't much different with the way they do things. It could be a perfect fit Tata??! Lolz. Please, don't ever say that again. The guy is mediocrity personified, the guy won't be able to win the FA cup with the FIFA best Eleven. Sabella I can understand but he can't speak English so it may hinder the deal and lead to extra expenses but Tata?! No! |

safarigirl: Claudio Ranieri's CV did not have any wow factor before Leicester, yet he achieved the impossible with a bunch of average players
Never underestimate the influence of a good coach on his team. That cohesiveness snd bond between coach and players is what wins games. If the players are happy with the coach, they will lay their lives on the field for his honour, look what happened with Keshi snd the 2013 AFCON team, now compare that with what happened to Mourinho with Chelsea last season
All this CV talk is overrated. Le Guen's CV is an eyesore, if he couldn't qualify Oman from a weak Asian federation and flopped with the great Indomitable lions, what makes him better than Yusuf that won NPLF with Kano Pillars?
All we need is a coach the players are happy with and I bet you, Salisu can even win Algeria with Amuneke's boys Ehm, you might want to look at Ranieri's CV again. If he was an average coach Chelsea would have never hired him. Just because Scolari failed at Chelsea does not mean his CV is poor. Recheck and tell me what you saw |

safarigirl: so, somebody is still mentioning Siasia as an option for the SE job even as he's about to bury whatever is left of his CV in a pile of failure?
Honestly, sometimes, I just feel these NFF and their associates should be rounded up and sent to a maximum security prison in China If you ask me,then Siasia has done nothing wrong. Absolutely nothing, he has just been a victim of bad circumstances. The first time, our qualification had already been messed up, he came and if not for some school boy errors and misses we would have qualified(you really need to watch that Guinea game again). Under Siasia we outplayed our opponents hands down, we beat Argentina, and even when they got their starts together, it was a howler by Mikel that and Aiyenugba that cost us the game. For me right now, Siasia is the best local coach we have, maybe soon Amunike will join, but we saw what happened to Manu, so I maintain that Siasia will be the best local coach on a long term plan. |

Obasi or something(he is short, that's how i remember him) he took a square pass and rifled the ball home. Someone got the assist, did that require any link up play? No. Link up play does not mean being able to pass the ball, even defenders get assists too |

Kelechi Iheanacho was benched by Ibrahim Alhassan during the qualifiers that led to the CAF U17 2013. Even, after Ibrahim Alhassan was lost his place in the team due to MRI Bernard Bulbwa still benched Kelechi Iheanacho.
It was until tafter they left Kelechi Iheanacho then took his chances. Such is life.
Is link up play is bad but he assisted 5 times during the U17 FIFA World Cup. Kontinue. I believe you did not understand what I said. forgiveness: Bros, are you saying the U15 team graduated automatically to form the nucleus of the U17 team?
Or some of the U15 players were drafted into the already existing U17 team?
Then if your answer is the first question, How many U15 players were in that U17 team?
Now number 2 question; If the U17 had already been constituted before Isaac Success came to the camp then;
i, Why was the camp still opened for screening prior to the first preliminary match against Niger?
ii, was Isaac Success grafted into the team prior to the CAF U17 in Morocco or was he part of the team that started the first preliminary match against Niger in Nigeria?
iii, was Awoniyi not grafted into the U17 team from the U15?
iv, which of these friendlies came first between Rwanda and Botswana?
Number three questions,
Do you mean Taiwo Awoniyi was the number 9 ahead of Chidera Ezeh and Kelechi Iheanacho?
Ibrahim Alhassan failed MRI test prior to the main tournament and not before the first preliminary matches that led to the CAF U17 2013 tournament.
Ibrahim Alhassan was the lad that benched Kelechi Iheanacho during the qualifiers that led to the qualification of the CAF U17 2013 tournament. We are talking about the process that led to the CAF U17 2013 tournament. Brother, Chidera Ezeh and Iheanacho were midfielders then. How will they be the 9? Coach Siasia invited Enyeama back but he turned down the chance. He said he was not emotionally ready due to his poor treatment after he lost his mum.
It is understandable about the emotional trauma Oliseh and the NFF caused him. Imagine asking Enyeama the drama that happened after Enyeama pointed Kaduna as a wrong venue for the qualifiers.
All we can do is to keep checking on Enyeama. When he is emotionally ready, we call him back. do you have his number? I need to call him and beg him personally. Like seriously he should be our Buffon, until he is 39 atleast |

goldfish80: I hope he really gets his chance at Liverpool especially now that klop is talking about restructuring their academy.
Personally, I think he is too young to be called up. He's an academy player barely 18. We have a tough assignment in the world cup qualifiers. Its not child's play what we are going to face in Algiers, Yaounde and Lusaka. We should be going with our very best legs who can withstand and deliver under pressure.
Enyeama for me should be drafted back. Dudes like Kayode Olarenwaju for me is ripe for a call up. I don't know why he keeps getting neglected. God will continue to bless you. A good defence without a good goalkeeper is dead! A good goalkeeper is not just about saves, it is about being able to coordinate your defence. Right now we do not have a good defence leader, a strong guy who will spank you if you make a mistake and always keep you on your toes, hence we need Enyeama right now. Omeruo seems like he will develop into such a player but he is not yet there, so bring back Enyeama. And no be today I start that Kayode talk |

Icon4s: Hahahaha bros no go there o.U no sabi d foundation of that team reach me o.
Isaac Success was one of the late arrivals in that team. He was from BJ Foundation, an academy based in Benin. Elderson Uwa Echiejile was also a product of that team.
Isaac Success was never part of the team from the U15. He joined later after d U17 had already been constituted. He personally made himself available(jst like Osimhen) for team selection. That I think was prio to the double header friendly against Rwanda which was played in Calabar and Kigali. This was still even before the commencement of the qualifiers for CAN U17.
Awoniyi was d team's top 9 before Success came.
When I visited the team's camp early 2012 in the company of the a Benin based radio correspondent, Isaac Success was nt yet a member of the team.
I personally told Awoniyi that he was the Yekini of that team.Success was nt there then!
As for Ibrahim Alhassan aka Muazam, he alongside Wilfred Ndidi and 3 others failed d MRI jst the week of commencement of the CAF U17. so it was Benard Bulbwa that was benching Iheanacho at the 2013 CAF U17 and not Muazam. Couldn't agree more, I think Iheanacho case had to do with some alergies he developed prior to the tourney because I know he was a starter in their U15 if I remember well. And Isaac Success is just too good, Awoniyi was the main guy before him, when people were saying that he took his chances and was now better than Isaac Success I laughed, if you are in a team and someone comes and displaces you then you do not even deserve a chance. His link play is poor tbh, he is just a superb fox, Chicharito-style player. Anyways it's pointless arguing about this |

I agree I made a mistake voting him in(although there really is no assurance that things would have been better under Mr Clueless), I will gladly take the blame. Being a houseboy(a doctor undergoing his housemanship o,not servant) almost zero percent of my salary goes into saving or even luxury activities, I walk down the street and I see beggars who probably did not vote for Buhari but are also suffering because of the fact that I voted for him and I can't stop myself from giving them all I have. Note: Am saying this based on the 180 pegged cut off mark for all institutions
Thanks... . Absolutely not. Infact there may not be any vacany for anyone with less that 200 or even 220 marks in any federal university no matter the course, the lower courses will be a dumping ground for people who could not scale through the screening. You are the one making sense here. They may decide to do it based on 2 sittings and all that, maybe not blatantly like the point system, but something similar to that based on waec result.
