Everybody was tensed but I wasn't. I always knew the game would be close and immediately we scored a goal it was over.
Where Goldfish dey, 3-0 right? The Zambians played well and they should have been a goal up, exactly what I expected them to do but God was totally on our side, they became less clinical unlike when they met us and we managed to hold out |

forgiveness: Shehu is not good.
On a good day, wing backs are suppose to support the attack but our wing backs are just defending. probably because we are not playing wingbacks but fullbacks. Will you ever see Abidal in an attacking position? But he was one of the best fullbacks ever. Shehu is doing his job perfectly well |

Slimydude49: You people always calling for the head of Onazi will see his importance in the super Eagles today the problem isn't the absence of Onazi rather the player that was subbed in. Etebo or Ogu in for Onazi was a no-brainer but somehow you sub Mikel, you bring Agu, you sub Onazi, you bring in the same Agu and he is always poor. Poor decision from Rohr is the problem not Onazi's importance |

goldfish80: I feel good about today's game. The Zambians have no chance whatsoever to take away even a point from this.
At the 2013 nations cup the Zambians came in as defending champs, all pumped up and very boastful against an uncertain Super Eagles side, they only managed to pull a draw courtesy of a free gift from the referee. It must be said at the time, Kalusha Bwaya was a strong man in CAF. Anyone who follows African football knows how muddy the CAF political climate can be.
These days, Kalusha's influence have weaned, we have seen the rise of Amaju Pinick to the CAF high table. Our last game against Cameroon, I saw more than a few 50/50 calls go our way. Today won't be any different. We are beating Zambia by a 2-3 goal margin qith Victor Moses opening the floodgates from the penalty spot.
Someone bookmark this. I will be happy to be called out if this doesn't come to pass (very much unlikely). I will bookmark this because I know that the scoreline will be a difference of just one goal or none at all. 8 hours to kickoff |

Icon79: Brazil rest players in the final world cup match at home? Did you watch Brazil yesterday? They played their first team and did everything humanely possible to win that match, but were just unlucky coupled with fantastic goalkeeping. Trust me, Brazil would like to finish the qualifications match at home with a big send forth so Chile better be prepared to lose that match. And in addition, players like Neymar is playing for history so he would like to score especially at home.
Is it gonna be an easy match for the Argies in Ecuador considering that they would be playing in an altitude but I think that they would be prepared. Of course anything is possible but I still think that they have a better chance of qualifying than Chile, and even Colombia and Peru (expect a bloodbath on this one). And even if the Argies can only secure a draw, they might still make the playoffs depending on the results of Brazil/Chile and Colombia/Peru.
O pari I never said they do not have any chance, I merely pointed out the fact that there was no reason for you to call him a 'mugu'. It's gone though, I too want Argentina at the world cup |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 3:39pm On Oct 06, 2017 |
Joebie: why the "mugu" na?
Argentina still has a strong chance of qualifying. However, they have failed to win 4 matches in a row. And that could happen again.
We have a bigger chance than Argentina.. Even a win for Argentina will not guarantee qualification. I stand to be corrected E pain me. Like insults have become a part of the thread, sorry I had to use the word. You are right, they may not qualify even if they win I think so too, so saying that we are in the same boat is false |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 3:15pm On Oct 06, 2017 |
Icon79: You're a fulltime mugu! How exactly is Argentina going down? Or you do swallow everything you hear from the so called pundits on TV?
Right now, Argentina has exactly the same chance of qualifications as Nigeria, OK. They just need to beat Ecuador (who incidentally are out of it) to qualify .... the same way we just need to beat Zambia to qualify. We can qualify tomorrow and the Argies can qualify on Tuesday, that's just the bottom line.
The truth is, only one country (brazil) has qualified in the South American group. Four places are still open - that mean, even the second placed Uruguay can still miss out, same with Chile, Columbia, Peru, and Argentina. Tuesday would decide who goes to the world and who stays home amongst the 4 nations.
If I am a betting man, I would put my money on Argentina ahead of countries like: Chile who are playing Brazil away and/or Colombia who are playing Peru away. So my prediction is that the Argies would finish the job by beating Ecuador, but if the worse comes to the worst and they fail to beat Ecuador, they can still qualify via playoffs - depending on the results of the other fixtures. So the talk of Argentina's demise is very premature, IMHO.
As a matter of fact, they were very unlucky not to win yesterday. Lionel Messi hit the post in the second half and created numerous opportunities that his team-mates were unable to convert. Sergio Aguero would've probably buried some of those chances, if he were available yesterday.
O pari so you called him a mugu for saying the truth? Do you know the meaning of that word? Argentina are not in the same position with us, if Chile beats Brazil(highly possible because Brazil will rest players) and Peru beats Colombia then Argentina can kiss the world cup goodbye because Colombia is 3points ahead with a far superior GD, so the bottomline is that you are the actual mugu for letting your 'love' for Messi blind your sense of reasoning |

Joebie: So what we have here is the Zambians studying our tapes. We are also studying theirs. Are you saying the are no deficiencies we can exploit in the Zambian's?
I'm sure just as Rohr pulled Moses Simon away and gave him special instructions before the Cameroon match because of the lapses he saw with him against SA, Rohr has also studied our weaknesses. He will correct them accordingly.
They have tapes. We have tapes. They have deficiencies. We have deficiencies. They have team psychologists. I believe we do. I still don't understand why the fear. The fact remains, we are determined to seal this up. We have the players to deliver. We will have our strategies. They will have theirs. On paper, we are still the better team. So why the fears? I was asked to analyse the nigerian team not Zambia. I just pointed out what they can exploit, not that I am scared of them or anything |

EEGA: Our LB is our weak link.
You forgot to add that V.Moses plays the LW and just like S.Moses was instructed to track back to help Shehu,V.Moses can also help Echiejiele better because he plays as a wing-back for his club. in the first 5-10mins against Cameroon Moses was playing RWF. Still on still, an overload can still be created, just that one of their Amf will come into the equation. Moses will be too concerned with the opposing RB to notice |

Who is watching this game between NI and Germany? Germany are missing like 7 starters but they are still teaching NI(the second team in their group and a team that has won their last 5 games) a serious lesson. God please don't let Germany come near us atleast until the semifinal so we can bow out with a lot of pride to the eventual champions |

Mujtahida: Regardless of the scoreline predictions all I'm saying is we should give them the moral support. If you were a Zambian having to face this squad of Eagles how would you measure things? I will fancy my chances. If I can beat Algeria(the number one team in Africa)twice in 4days, be it a fluke win or not, I will fancy my chances against any team. I do not think they will be low on confidence |
