when you have a birthday and a surgery to carry out the same evening you don't party even once, even in the morning you don't party or drink, that's one of the work ethics we have here. So it is too for these boys, the work ethics condemns partying a couple of days to a crucial game, I don't care if they party by 12am on Tuesday after that game but let's just wait till after the game.

and about your formation, I'd say let's experiment a little, change a lot of faces there.

somehow Etebo the main workhorse we have in the team isn't going to start this match and we have an impersonator at LWF. I pray Ndidi will be able to do what Etebo did for us in the middle

Honestly u played d game,first choice always undergo special drill b4 full training session.I remember Eagles camp at papendal in Holland then,Rufai was always going through d special drill while Agonavbare and Agu going through normal training.

Hope Akpeyi rise up to d occasion coz we don't need fumbling goalkeeper in this match and with new goalkeeper trainer,i believe psychologically there w be an improvement on d side of goalkeeping aspects

all we can do today is pray. while we were watching the training session yesterday some of my colleagues were saying that he has been dropped, they don't understand that what they are saying is the opposite. I have been praying since then sha, hopefully Akpeyi will channel his inner Enyeama and save us on that day

He is the first choice goalkeeper, he was going through special drills with the GK trainer on the far side of the pitch. yesterday confirmed the fact that he will start the match

the simple truth here is that Etebo is going to play in midfield, Mikel too. The last spot is between Onazi and Ndidi, I don't need to tell y'all who my choice would be but the coach decides anyways so not my problem really.

the two wingers will definitely be VicMo and Musa/Moses, Musa will most definitely start, take that to the bank.

Nacho will still start as the CF. in fact we are going to see that formation against Algeria all over again with the same players, well maybe except for Onazi and Iwobi but the rest will be the same. I wouldn't be surprised if I see Ndidi at right back again, remember the Cameroonians are tall and do score from set pieces, this was the main reason why Ndidi started against Zambia anyways so I don't think that will change

that's exactly my point. As an SS you should score even more goals.. Simon played a few times as a midfielder.

For me Moses Simon has an edge because of Europa League and past decent performances in the SE.. Basing it on Jupiler League alone, Onyekuru has a better stat.

14 times as an SS --> 3 goals, 3 assists
2 times as a LW --> 0 goals, 1 assist
2 times as a CF --> 0 goals, 0 assist

ONYEKURU
In the Jupiler League alone:

34 as LW --> 19 goals, 8 assists
3 as CF --> 1 goal, 2 assists
3 as RW --> 3 goals
1 as SS --> 1 goal

I think we totally agree on this. last season Moses Simon didn't really light up the Europa league but just like you and Icon4s said, there are a lot more that will be considered first.

all that aside, I really want to understand why Moses Simon still plays as a winger for us. he literally played the whole season as the SS probably because Samuel Kalu benched him, why then is he a starter for the SE when we have tons of players who can play that position well enough?

I think it.actually makes it worse. as a SS you are meant to score some more, I don't really get your position in this argument. so a SS with a return of 5 goals and 7 assists is good enough for you?

he was the attacking midfielder, which makes it worse. at least for a winger playing in a 4-5-1 you can argue that he stays too far away from the goal to actually score goals like Samuel Kalu, but this is an AMF with only 5 assists all season long. Even Iwobi, Aluko etc etc made more impact than he did, so your point is?

yes, he may have his reasons. my point us based entirely on potential output. I'd rather have Onyekuru one on one against the goalkeeper, maybe the coach doesn't like a winger that doesn't provide width because Onyekuru likes to cut in, that's for the coach, like I said my assertions were made based solely on my own perceptions

Let's not forget Moses Simon did very well at the Europa league. And Simon have been in SE and have had decent games. With the national team,
changes need to be done gradually, of course as long as we are winning. However, Onyekuru is better, based on recent club stats. Again, we can say based on other factors it could tilt the other way. Let me say again, coaches make decisions based on various factors. Let's not say Simon has past glory alone. If you ask me who I prefer, I will say Onyekuru. But to say there is foul play in selection, that's another matter. You are not the coach, you don't know what he is looking for. He has ran the rule over Onyekuru as well.

when I said Onyekuru should be there, it was based entirely on my own perception. in fact sef, I never called for the inclusion of Onyekuru but Kayode remember? and if you ask me from today till tomorrow I will still say that both deserve that spot more than Moses Simon

I said it clearly that I am only addressing those who believe Onazi, Simon Moses and Ahmed Musa were called based on past glory theory and that I wanted Iheanacho, Iwobi or Onyekuru to be dropped. Simple.

But I am surprised how people here reacted and are still reacting on top nothing.

Nevertheless, I asked you to provide me with facts on why Onyekuru is better than Simon Moses but until date no tangible fact.

Onyekuru scored more than Moses Simon this past season and this season neither of them has registered any goal but at least Onyekuru has created an assist from one if his rebound strikes, please tell me how Onyekuru is not better
