2smooth2shout: and you confidently typed this rubbish with the hope of feeding it to your fellow ignorant gullible south africans.Your Rolands with the range of 8km,can't create an "umbrella" of protection for your troops and armour in the battlefield. Systems like the Patriot and S300 have a larger range, which raises the factor factor on the enemy's camp. |
buzmani: I knw many are judging our military base wit d B/H issue in d north. Blv me. Dts no threat to our Army because the govt itslf its B/H. Rathr d civilian govt would like to protect military intervention in Nig politics. Nigeria economy might be currupt and not Nigerian Defence. No African country, evn South American countries can triance the cases of 9ja KamoIf BH is not threat then why are you deploy massive numbers of troops, even backed by fighter jets. One of your Nigerian brothers even said,BH almost downed a MI-35 helo. Here's the thing: If your economy is corrupt, that would be troublesome cause your country won't have the money to fund military operations. And buy spare parts for almost all of your equipment since it is foreign made. GET IT ? |
agaugust: https://www.africaguide.com/images/africa_map.gif1. South Africa (This country has the money to produce weapons and fund operations) 2. Egypt( egypt is "broke",and Israel always made them fools) 3.Nigeria (Nigeria has numbers but no quality equipment, and lacks modern convectional warfare experience) 4. Algeria (armed forces of Algeria, are leading a successful against armed jihadists) 5. Morocco(is modernising its armed forces). |
agaugust: nigeria does NOT depend on F-7 jets alone. nigeria has the best air defense systems in Africa even better than Egypt.Best air defence system?psssss Nigeria has soviet era,air defence systems which SA has flown against during the bush war. And without fighters, what will your armed use to intercept hostile jets penetrating your air space. |
agaugust: Nigeria can invade south africa, and may likely stalemate you in war at home if its next year when our 2014 new navy stealth warships arrive. poachers and illegal immigrants flood into south africa with smuggled weapons in thousands and dehorn your Rhinos, maybe some intruder will soon sneak through south african porous borders and by night disv****n the few girls you have left in that categoryYou know I hate talking about stuff from the future. But here: look your stealth war ships won't have the "sea lift capability",and sending them down to SA will require another 1 or even more supply ships. On the "smuggling issue" that would be difficult, weapons would have to come through Mozambique the mountainous area between SA and Mozambique would make it difficult to smuggle heavy systems. |
2smooth2shout: i hope you know the meaning of war. Nigeria has the capacity to rapidly grow it's military to confront any external threat. Here's the thing if your country got into war with another country like SA. It is predictable that the UN will slap both countries with sanctions or an arms embargo. So increasing personnel won't help, unless your countries has the capability to produce quality weapons. But I don't think a country like Nigeria is even capable of producing quality armoured fighting vehicles. |
NaijaPikinGidi: Naval chef can't even do straight battle! You are the keyboard admiral of the SAN fleet! You must have a healthy potbelly to show for your time in the kitchen on deck.Nigeria can't "do straight battle",with 12 F7 fighter jets plus some lead-in fighters. |
sambos994: ...and you didn't bring reinforcementsThat would raise many suspicious questions about, why the SANDF was in CAR. |
NaijaPikinGidi: Are you really serious about your comment above? And don't you think it is an indictment on your SANDF that your SAPS will need to be brought in to do military operations? Do you now see the reason for our correct views about the weakness of your SANDF despite the shiny weapons they exhibit whenever there's a camera operator around? In other climes it is the military that comes to the rescue of the Police ... as such it is very clear why your CAR disgrace happened! Your SANDF were busy waiting for the Police who were rather busy dragging people tied to the back of Police vans. Can Nigeria fight any conventional war against another country? |

And please you don't want me to tell you about the massacres your security forces commit. |
sambos994: Why do they wear military camo? They're trained to execute military operations of needed. |

2smooth2shout: another f.oolish lie from a hypocritical south african. so tell if the youths in the north fighting boko haram are christians. south africa is as divided as other african countries. we all just have our causes and yours is race, ours is tribal.South Africans have shown on many occasions that we get along much more better, than what some "outsiders" think. What has Nigeria shown?,militant groups? |
2smooth2shout:Is this you agreeing that South Africa is ahead of Nigeria in terms of Technology and Infrastructure?. Your so called "mega cities" can only be compared to South Africa's small towns. |
CraigB: Answer the question: 1 to 4. Which line is untrue, exactly?South Africans come together during major events, like we saw during the world cup. Meaning if we were threatened by some country(Nigeria),all Whites,Blacks,Indian and Coloureds would wear a helmet under the loyalty of the C-in-C. But Nigerians would be divided and eaten from the inside-out by militants like BH. |
2smooth2shout: EMPTYSouth Africa is not a "deeply" divided country,in terms of how we get along. While African countries like Nigeria are deeply divided between "Muslim north" and "christian south". |
2smooth2shout:Next time you post pictures, please let it be your own self taken pics moro..*n. In terms of infrastructure Nigeria is 20 years behind South Africa, you can only "boast or brag" about La_gay-os or Abuja. Which aren't even close to a city like Durban in SA. |
2smooth2shout: good news and great intelligence work on the side of the officers who caught him. no room for impersonators"Impersonating" is what you Nigerians are good at. |
2smooth2shout:LOOL Google images. Let us not compare cities. OK ?? |
Donian007: You are FOOLISH, you smelly gay. Now that you've seen that your SAPS are a bunch of clowns, youre diverting the police arguement to military. IDIOTA!SAPS have put to jail any "terrorist wannabe",but your police failed to "contain the BH cancer" from 2009. It is only a matter of time before, someone says "FREE Biafra!!!!!" |

Donian007: Yes, DSP NGOZI CONCHITABRAIDE-NIGERIA POLICE. Beauty!BY EVELYN USMAN LAGOS — The Nigerian Navy, NN, has arrested a man allegedly masquerading as a commander in the service, at Liverpool area of Lagos. The suspect, Alfred Oniye, who could have passed for a genuine commander to both serving naval personnel and civilians alike, was reportedly arrested by a naval patrol team. The suspect had full naval uniform, identity card and rank. Parading the suspect, weekend, Executive Officer, NNS Beecroft, Captain James Pindar, said Oniye met his waterloo following the suspicious manner he acknowledged salute from the ratings on patrol. Before he was arrested, he explained that following several complaints received on the likes of Oniye, the Navy commenced a clampdown which had led to several arrests. Explaining how he was arrested, Pindar said: “The way he acknowledged the greeting gave him away and when asked to identify himself, he said he was the Commanding officer, NNS Pathfinder, Port Harcourt. That again, gave him away because that post is manned by a Commodore, and not a Commander. He is one among several others who has been giving the Navy bad image. We arrested six of such persons recently. We are therefore, warning others to desist because the NN is not the type of service they can impersonate”, he stated. However on his part the suspect disclosed that he was a Merchant Navy personnel, saying he only identified himself as a Navy Commander to avoid being beaten to stupor by the naval ratings. According to him, “I alighted from my car for an inspection when I was arrested. I identified myself as a Commander on NNS Pathfinder because I did not want them to kill me. If I had not said that, they would have killed me because immediately I said so, the beating reduced and they brought me to their base. “ I am not a fake Merchant Navy personnel. I even told them to take me to our directorate in Olodi Apapa area of Lagos to ascertain whether I am a Merchant navy or not. “I have not committed any crime because this uniform is what Merchant Navy used to colonize us. It was when we were having problem with the Navy that the directorate instructed we changed the appellate to cross.” Asked where he got the uniform from , he claimed to have bought it from an undisclosed person, while Naval authorities said he would be handed over to the police for prosecution. |

GidiNaijaPikin: Mike..ZA, you are groping aimlessly. Now put your hands on your head and and run to bed!!Deadly violence by suspected Boko Haram fighters leaves 20 dead in Dawashe village, military spokesman says. Suspected members of Nigeria's armed group Boko Haram shot dead more than 20 civilians when a vigilante group attacked them in the northern Borno state, a military spokesman has said. "The suspected sect members came armed and fired sporadic shots that killed over twenty innocent civilians," Haruna Mohammed Sani, spokesman for the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) said on Sunday. The violence took place on Saturday in Dawashe village, the army lieutenant said in a statement. He said men from the Civilian Joint Task Force, a vigilante group formed in Boko Haram's bastion Maiduguri to combat the gunmen who have been terrorising the region for years, entered Dawashe to search for suspects. Suspected Boko Haram members subsequently opened fire in the village, the spokesman said, adding that the 20 victims were mostly fishermen and traders. Sani said a dozen other civilians sustained gunshot wounds during the incident but provided no information on casualties among the belligerents. The toll and circumstances of the incident could not immediately be verified independently. The MNJTF, a joint military force set up in 1998 to combat border crimes, consists of troops from Nigeria, Chad and Niger. Its mandate was recently expanded to fight Boko Haram, whose insurgency is estimated to have cost 3,600 lives since 2009, including killings by security forces. |
GidiNaijaPikin: We do our business without seeking undue recognition which is why these SANDF modelling agency boys will think Nigerian Armed Forces are their mates. If as part of our insertion and control strategy we could deceive the Sierra Leonean Army and overrun their barracks, how come the SANDF are permanently out of CAR and not doing any active combat in DRC? Is it a case of 33% brain capacity again? The FIB is not operational yet. Troops from Malawi are having serious logistic problems. And oh No,rebel force is willing to engage the SANDF. This was proven when the Mai Mai attacked the parabats, after realising whom they were up against they ran quick into the DRC jungles. |
2smooth2shout: and can you do yourself a favor by explaining the connection between this your baseless post and mine of SAPS incompetency and failure with all the photography we've seen."SAPS incompetency failures",LOL Are you from that African country, where militants cruise around with weapons(from assault rifles to anti aircraft guns). At times "peppering" innocent civilians with bullets?. If Nigerian police are "that good" then how do this "guns" get smuggled into Nigeria?. DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH NAIJABOY!!!!! GET IT ![]() ? |
sambos994: Oh boy, did he hit a nerve? I thought we were talking hostage situations and you start talking about conventional warfare. Face the music son, don't run away from it.No,here's the thing: 1.Foreign nationals are still getting kidnapped today in Nigeria. 2.Boko Haram is killing your soldiers. If your "elite police" were well trained Boko haram wouldn't exist, weapons meant for BH are smuggled easily deep into your country. This shows a huge gap in the capabilities of your counter terrorism units. But the South African special task force, has proven its capabilities by putting to jail any "terrorist wannabe". |
2smooth2shout: WOW!!!The devastating flood that ravaged most communities along the banks of River Benue in October 2012, not only washed away houses and farmlands in Duguri district of Alkaleri local government area of Bauchi State, but also brought with it some species of dangerous snakes which to date have killed more than 200 people in the district. Duguri district is 136 kilometres away from Bauchi, the state capital, and 120 kilometres from Alkaleri, the local government headquarters. According to the district head of Duguri, which is surrounded by villages such as Geji, Yuli, Shafa, Gamu, Dogon-Ruwa, Bogos, Rimi, Kukuri, Keffi, Talan, Geji-Gamu, Kunzum, Yalam, Sabonlayi, Kungimbar, Gyel, Anguwar-Gebi, Bunn, Sabon Gari, Yumi, Bayek, and Gobir, Adamu Mohammed, "we have lost over 200 people in this district since the floods of last year to date." In an interview with PREMIUM TIMES last Thursday, the village head of nearby Shafa village, Adamu Abdullahi, said, "even yesterday, someone was bitten by a snake while working on his farm and he died on the way to the hospital. In fact I also lost my daughter, Sadiqa, after she was bitten by a puff adder (an African viper specie) while sleeping in her room. She died in less than 15 minutes after she was bitten. She was 14 years old." A resident of Duguri, Abubakar Umar, told PREMIUM TIMES that the snakes have killed and continue to kill residents of the affected villages but added that the villagers have also intensified efforts to "hunt the snakes and kill them," after realising that government help is not forth coming. "The incident of snake bites has reduced a little, because we have intensified in killing them. The Cobra specie is the one that has been killing our people since last year," he said, adding that, "I can confidently tell you that over 360 persons died from snake bites in Duguri and surrounding villages from last year to date. That is not forgetting those who lost their limbs. Most of them were amputated at the General Hospital, Bauchi," he said. Speaking in similar vein, the Galadima of Duguri, Mallam Yusuf, said over 200 people in Duguri alone lost either a hand or part of their leg. "The story is the same in all the villages in the district," he said. According to the district head of Shafa, "Since this disaster befell us, there is no family that has not lost a loved one to these snakes and I am talking of about 10 villages with a population of over 14,000," he said. According to the district head, victims of snake bite who survive are usually taken to the General Hospital in Kaltungo, Gombe State, where the hospital had dedicated a ward for the treatment of venomous snake bites. "Whoever is lucky to make it to Kaltungo is treated in only two days and then they return home," he added. The district head of Shafa, Mr. Mohammed and the Galadima of Duguri, Mr. Yusuf, told PREMIUM TIMES that the residents of the districts are predominantly peasant farmers and the snakes' invasion has made it almost impossible for them to cultivate their farms. When former information minister, Dora Akunyuli led a presidential subcommittee on flood relief and rehabilitation to Duguri district in November last year, she promised the people that samples of the snakes would be taken to determine the appropriate anti-venom vaccines and appealed to the villagers to exercise patience but the Galadima of Duguri said, "we have not heard from the federal government till date and just like she said we are in danger now. The snakes have killed over 200 of our people since her team left us." Repeated efforts made to speak to the Bauchi State Commissioner for Health, Sani Malami, were unsuccessful. After several calls and text messages for one week, Mr. Malami responded to a short message on Thursday, saying, "I am travelling from Abuja at the moment, will speak when I get to Bauchi". Several calls to his mobile phone since then have been unanswered." We can wipe out all formations by dropping snakes(cobras) LOOOL |
Augustine Again: ignore the Type 056 for next year...answer the current challenge of today from the shaldag and stealth NNS Zaria. dont run away from our 300 world class coastal boats...bring your own out-dated 1980's dwarf fast attack force for exercise in lagos. That's a fast attack boat, the South African Frigates are equipped with the Umkhonto missile to deal with such threats. And during hostilities,a single Lynx helo will keep an eye on any approaching enemy vessel. |
2smooth2shout: my people, the other day i asked for achievements of SANDF and they bragged that their special task force is rather better by posting achievements of the said special task whatever.Get this to your head: Nigeria has no experience whatsoever in conventional warfare. It would be fair to suggest that this, country(Nigeria) can struggle to defeat another country. Regarding you saying that the Special task force, has no current "success". They arrest a bunch Congolese man,in Limpopo last year planning to overthrow the DRC government. And i will say this again: Ni-gay-ria can't go on an all out conventional warfare, against another country. Cause that would cause a security vacuum, for insurgents to destroy your country from the inside. |
Augustine Again: dont be in a hurry bros, tell your south african admrirals to come to lagos next year 2014 and engage two nigerian navy stealth guided missile Type 056 warships in an exercise.Let us not talk about "things" from the future, cause that would be giving me right to mention systems like the Marlin missile, the two french assault amphibious ships,Seeker 400,ARHLAC and many other systems. For your info the South African navy,is the most experienced navy on the continent. I think sooner we will see,an exercise between NN and SAN,only then will it be proven that Nigerian Navy is decades behind SAN. |
CraigB: I refuse you answer your question. It's irrelevant.. He should just give us the name of the major, whom was killed by BH. |
