i believe the report. the rate of armed robbery in enugu is beyond comprehension. i'm igbo but i must say the truth
Don't come here playing the devil's advocate. You're sounding as if some these ppl saying otherwise don't live in Enugu. Lest I forget, your claim of being from the east is not enough qualification for you to feed us a myopic version of 'Truth' (it's funny how ppl say this word this days as if some of they really understand the meaning)

Arewa Warrior: The Igbos are very innovative, productive, hardworking, have this burning desire to succeed, unfortunately they extend it to illegal means as well, gather all those in prison abroad on charges of armed robbery, drug trafficking, kidnapping... etc I dont have to give a geography lesson on the perpetrators regional extraction GOOGLE it ya'll.
Those qualities you typed are the reasons why some ppl are SCARED of the east. The prospects of becoming the economic skeleton of Nigeria looms in the east. That's why some ppl have sworn that no major project will happen in the east. I guess they didn't see the international airport coming while they were busy trying to block the Dredging of Lower Niger and opening of Onitsha River port. God bless Stella; though they've marred her name with controversy.
This quarter done story on the front page, is another attempt to discredit Enugu the eastern capital, to paint it black and discourage travellers and airlines from operating in Enugu. Like the others before it, the plot has failed.
The easterners have paid their dues fully before God and man, I can see it.

gulfkid: The Bible says in Acts 17:30-31 "The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, 31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”

Everyman will be judged according to the light he received. That is certainly not the same as having the opportunity and totally turning a blind eyes to it.
The Pope is gradually playing out the events in the book of Revelation. Remember he is just but a mortal man and his righteousness is but like a filthy rag before God. So everyman watch and pray, don't be carried away by the events of time. The end is coming and it is sure.
Thanks bro. Bro. Peter Dimond saw this coming. Check out his analyses on Vatican 2 council, you'll definitely see the influence of freemason in it. With Paul VI solemn declaration, that heretic council has eaten into the fabrics of the catholic faith. Catholic church was known for it's allergy to the ever changing world, because God doesn't change, the way u worship him doesn't have to. The catholic church has been the same since about 1960 years ago, until the Vatican 2. this is a count down people.
The anti-christ will not be revealed until the true church of Jesus Christ has been weakened.
* This might be the END of it all, the TIME is counting down, better leave the THINGS of the world and save your soul.*

POPE FRANCIS IS AT IT AGAIN. finally he may have just proven that he is a heretic or worse an apostate. Any catholic who knows the doctrine very well should look into his publication very well, because my basic catholic teaching tells me that without taking the body and blood of Christ which u must believe in to receive, you will have no LIFE.
Sharp Catholics should investigate this ASAP. Thanks.

chucky234: Exporting our perishables to the international market will result in scarcity of such produce in the domestic market.
No, exportation will iNcrease demand, which will lead to more production. more production will draw more labour to the area where the demand is high; in this case AGRICULTURE. I don't know how some of you people draw your conclusions in simple logics like this one, always pessimistic about everything.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Do You Support The Coming American War Against The Syria Assad Regime by mildteddy(m): 10:29am On Sep 05, 2013
US government is strategically removing everyone that opposes them.
They are playing chess on the world. Remove opposition and crown a Pro-'democratic'/ American government at all cost. "Power lies in the barrel of the gun" Hitler said.
"Power lies in the nose of a tomahawk" Obama'll say.
Whichever way Syria is fighting their 'own' civil war and should be left alone while they're at it. If the will of the people is to remove Assad he will end up removed.
If America's interest is just a mere 'humanitarian intervention' like they normally call it, they should find whoever drop that chemical weapon and kill him, instead of destroying Syrian military like they want to, and leaving them vulnerable to external forces (from the Israelis maybe).
But then it's all good, afterall the world is thriving on a borrowed TIME. I leave the rest to team ETT (carry on boys.)

Reptyle: Sentimental hogwash at best! Like Biafranqueen asked another nairalander earlier, until you state here on this forum one motherless babies home that you actively support with your God given resources, you can take this your holier-than-the-pope act and shove it where the sun don't shine.

You are not more Christian than I am and I insist that there are situations where women should be given the legal choice to procure an abortion. The only modification I would make to the law if I had the power to, is that doctors should also be given the choice of declining to carry out an abortion if it goes against their moral code. In such a situation, they must refer the patient immediately, especially in situations where there is an obvious threat to life.

This law only gives a legal backing to a woman who under any of the aforementioned conditions, DECIDES FREELY of her own volition, to procure an abortion without needing to suffer the scathing reproach from the Bible-thumping hypocrites that abound on Nairaland.
You're good with words. Bravo. How about a laud of applause. Reminds me of Obama with his eloquence and rhetorics while he was defending his gay laws.
You're good and I see your point. Good point though if I'm looking at it from your point of view, very liberal point of view which I love most especially when they don't involve taking human lives!
I'll appreciate if u respect my view too, because it's for the love of humanity and God.

So u'll allow ur wife 2 endanger her life because of religion, Jeez. islam xplains this kind of abortions in details. Plz seek knowledge for ''my ppl perish because of lack of knowledge''
Grow up bro. When the law wasn't there do you know how many teenagers and adult females that abort babies daily? You're in Africa bro, don't be naive. This law to 'the people means that every Chy, Funmi and Aisha is free to get abortion at any time they want. Don't be deceived by the English in the NL page look at the real thing man.

When I said that humans are too selfish this was what I meant:
lorretta u: If I am rap.ed,I'll have an abortion
If I get pregnant legally and it poses a health risk to me probably endangering my life making it impossible for me
...to live and achieve my other life goals,
lorretta u: I'll have an abortion
Very likely impossible but If I get pregnant for a man who doesn't care about me or the coming child.exposing me to emotional abuse and a life of suffering as a single mother with slim chances of ever finding love and my own man and building a normal family life,
I'll have an abortion
Pls forgive me.I'm a murderer cry
Yes.
But we forget who put the ladies is such difficult situations in the first place
I'm sure if men would stop molesting women
If men will start taking responsiblilty for the their fockery
If we don't have to be such hypocrites and understand that some things aren't worth ruining a woman's life over.
Maybe the rate of abortion will reduce
I'm wearing my steel armor right now. Judge me all you want,
We might still end up in the same department in hell. undecided

Reptyle: Seems to me like the law is specific about instances where abortion can be procured. What's the fuss?
The law made a list of the conditions that have to be met before a new life form (a human being) will be terminated. Who told you that you have the right to do that? Can you be able to manufacture a single strand of DNA in a foetus. If you can no problem go ahead and abort as many as you like, but if you can't why terminate a life formed by God, of which we have no idea as to how or why He did. Abortion is Evil and a crime against infancy.
I'm disappointed in Rochas for this, but what can I say... Ukwa ruo oge ya odaa.
We humans are just too selfish, that's why most of us will lose this war against evil.
Literature › Re: What Is Nigeria To You? by mildteddy(m): 10:27am On Aug 22, 2013
Since you bothered to ask, Nigeria is a Boundary sketched by the British colonialists, to serve their idea of a nation, existing against all the odds emanating from the diversity of the people constrained and confined within that boundary.
Nigeria is an experiment. A laboratory rat, just like Sudan, But unlike Sudan because Nigerians are different; Patient, smart, hardworking and mischievous lot. They have a wry sense of humour, hard to understand at times but effective.
Nigeria is an Illusion, but the people confined by it - called Nigerians are real.

This was the kind of thing Americans were witnessed in the '60s. Look at America now. Free thinkers. If pastors continue like this, Nigeria may end up like America or Europe (EU constitution is the only one that never mentioned God for once). Then we won't be worried about just our economy alone...

gerrardomendes: who shall bring a charge against God's elect? God shall judge. go and find out wot happened to miriam wen she spoke against moses. Aaron was wise enough to keep quiet. Moses was wrong but the annointing on him fought miriam. Even when saul was wrong, David even in his capacity couldnt judge him.(numbers 12: 1-10,2Sam. 1:1-14).

....and why does everything about pastors make frontpage?. God can still smote pple wit leprosy.
This is exactly how you "pastors" threaten your subjects. You make them FEAR. You quote a bible passage where fire and brimstone will rain on the person that doesn't 'give' to God. God is watching you all.
Somebody just brought the truth to light, tell the ppl that it is not true that most pastors are seeking their pocket far more than they are seeking the well being of their congregation. You're busy making threats in the name of God. God forgive u.

According to the OP or whatever, The point I believe she's is trying to make sincerely is that our country, Nigeria, is not where it is supposed to be, because of (should I say) the short sightedness of us (I may sound offensive, but all I want to do is say my mind, if You feel offended, don't expect any apologies.)
The governor of a state where I stay was just awarded the best governor in Nigeria by Bill Gates foundation, but the fact is to the majority of his people, besides the fact that there's no visible proof that he has stolen their money, he is the most under-performing governor of all times. You know why? Because he embraced the future. Drawing future city plans, constructing things that will be needed as time goes by, which are of economic importance. I'm not trying to advertise anybody, mind you, try and get my point. We live in the moment, we like things that happen immediately, too darn impatient for development, and that's what the leaders have been bringing; things that last for the moment; call it ecstasy if you like.
