Religion / Re: First Fruits, What Is It All About? by Millena(m): 12:57pm On Dec 26, 2007
In my understanding firstfruits are not necessarily the best of your income. All our givings to God should be the best. So, our giving the best should not be a matter here for God rewards us not by quantity, but by quality (remember the widow's offering).
Firstfruits I believe is the first of your produce. It is the accrued positive difference given to us by God when He moves us to a higher position. This may be the first salary of a new job, the first profit from a contract, the first pay in a business venture. Once God blesses you with an increase, the first portion of that increase is the firstfruits of that blessing. When God moves you from level 10 to level 11, your first salary in your new level (level 11) is your firstfruit.
Many people are of the opinion that your firstfruit in that level should be the level 11 income - the level 10 income (the positive difference in income), but I disagree with the notion.
Firstfruits should be given by faith, with wisdom, for a purpose, as God directs you.
Your firstfruits of the year 2008 is your first income in the year 2008. Your firstfruits of the 3rd quarter of 2007 is your first income in the 3rd quarter of 2007.
Tithes are different from firstfruits as tithes areĀ  10% of our income. This like any offering or sacrifice unto the Lord, is not compulsory. The decree is given by God to us not for His benefit, but for our benefit so that our blessings will be made whole. We are expected to tap into this decree for our benefit.
Proverbs 3: 9 "Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of thine inheritance"
Proverbs 3: 10 "So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thine presses burst out with new wine".
Psalm 50: 5-6 "Gather my saints unto me; those who have made a convenant to me by sacrifice. And the heavens shall declare His righteousness: for God is judge Himself".
Luke 10: 11- 19 illustrates the importance of coming back to God in thanks for his numerous blessings in our life so that the blessing will be made whole.
Sacrifices or offerings unto the Lord should be given by wisdom as we are not meant to give to satisfy humans therby leaving us with so little, hence, we suffer from lack, or by giving so little that it has no significance to our pockets and in God's eye.
2 Cor 8: 11-15 Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a perfomance also out of that which ye have. 12. For if there be first a willign mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. 13. for I mean not that other men be eased and ye burdened: 14. but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, and their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality: 15. As it is written, He that had agthered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack*
2 Cor 8:15 was culled from Exodus 16: 18 by Paul.
Exodus 16: 18 And when they had mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.

Religion / Re: How Did You Come About Your Faith? Inheritance, Studying Or Revelation? by Millena(m): 3:01am On Dec 25, 2007
I got my faith through divine calling. I experienced God at home through a vision in a glorious way. It was an experience I can never forget. It was like being high on a bucket of weed. There I was given some instructions and healed instantly. I often went to church b4 my conversion, but I lacked Christ. God chose me ( Rom 9: 1- 29.). He has spoken to me many times before. He also reveals somethings to me through dreams. I must confess that my dreams come true. B4 I got born again, I never dreamt. I was surprised at the experience of dreaming when I got born again. I now have the holy spirit with me. John 14: 15 -31.

Leviticus 18: 22 Do not practise homosexuality; it is a detastable sin.
Leviticus 18: 30 So be careful to obey my laws, and do not practise any of these detestable activities. Do not defile yourselves by doing any of them, for I, the Lord, am your God.
Religion / Re: God Loves Me So Dearly! Can You Say The Same? by Millena(m): 2:27am On Dec 25, 2007
No I can't say that God luvs me so dearly. I can only shout it from the roof tops and in the valleys. I CAN ONLY SHOUT IT FROM EVERYWHERE AND ALL SITUATIONS. I cant stop shouting how He loves me. When I look at His mercies and wonderful works in my life, I cant but shout, PRAISE THE LORDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.
Rom 8: 35 - 38. Can anything seperate us from Christ's love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threathened with death? even the scriptures say "for your sake we are killed everyday, we are slaughtered like sheep. No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever seperate us from His love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't and the demons can't. Our fears for today our worries about tomorrow and even the powers of hell cant keep God's love away.
Religion / Re: When Is Jesus Coming Back? Im Tired Of Waiting: by Millena(m): 2:17am On Dec 25, 2007
Are you tired of waiting for the Lord?
Habakkuk 2: 3 says "but these things I plan wont happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.
Religion / Re: Is it a sin for a christian to smoke? by Millena(m): 2:11am On Dec 25, 2007
@ topic
From 1Corinthians 8: 8-9
Vs 8 It is true that we can't win God's approval by what we eat. We don't miss out on anything if we don't eat it, and we don't gain anything if we do.
Vs 9 But you must be careful with this freedom of yours. Dont cause a brother or sister with a weaker concience to stumble.
So you see (in my opinion), what we eat, drink or smoke has nothing to do with our relationship with God, unless we are bound by a convenant to avoid such. God is not interested in your vegetarian nature or otherwise as long as you don't make an idol of the habit or let the habit influence you negatively (like drugs and over the top liquor) and maybe loose your faith. But this requires extra caution. If your breathren does not understand this like you do, sacrifice such food or drink in their presence so that you would not cause them to sin (by their concience) and loose track of God.
However, that should not be an excuse for killing yourself gradually. You should know what is right for you, and applying wisdom, generally increase your well-being for our heavenly inheritance doesnt start from death, but, heaven starts right here with us. Let us live for Christ as He has promised us everything good since He has paid the price. If you lack wisdom in understanding certain issues, ask God for His divine wisdom. For the scriptures say "does anyone lack wisdom? Let he ask and it shall be given", and also it is written "when the spirit of truth comes, it shall lead you unto all truth".
Religion / Re: Is Jesus Christ A Descendant Of King David? by Millena(m): 1:40am On Dec 25, 2007
As the Bible says, "There is a path that looks good in the eyes of a man, but which leads to utter destruction". Do not joke with the Bible, or any part of the Bible. The Bible lives, and will stand to judge you on the last day. A word is always enough for the wise. The Bible is there to guide you in truth. But as Christ said, "who will I find to be faithful on the last day when I come to gather my sheep"? I hope and pray that you will be found faithful when Christ comes.
Religion / Re: Can You Decode This? by Millena(m): 1:33am On Dec 25, 2007
@ Origin,
TomX has already told you what the trinity is. Spiritual things are not understood by human wisdom.
If you believe that man has a soul, spirit and flesh, then you have scaled the first hurdle in knowing the truine nature of God.
God was in heaven, and sent us Himself (Christ) in flesh to dwell amongst us, after which He left us with His holy spirit; another form of Himself after His conquest of sin which bound us to hell (the second death) that we inherited as sons of Adam by birth.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Hence, God = The word = Christ.
This shows that Christ was God made manifest in flesh, dwelled amongst men to conquer sin and restore men in the sight of God. Since Adam (the 1st man) fell to sin (devil), the devil held man captive. It took the divine intervention of Christ in His glory to restore man. God had to come down in flesh to man, to conquer sin.
This is hard to decipher unless God through His holy spirt reveals the truth to you. That is why Christ has all authority in Him, and has the power to forgive sins. He said that if only you believe in Him and confess Him as the Lord, you will be saved.
He also left us with His spirit.
I know that if you thruthfully pray and seek God, asking Him to reveal Himself to you and have mercy upon you, He will redeem you and reveal Himself to you. Mat7:7 Ask and it shall be given, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto u.

There should be much trust in a relationship to get it going, but U definitely cant trust any man 100%. even the Bible says that it is better to put our trust in God than in man (Psalm 118: cool.
So, I cant trust myself to give any man/woman 100% trust. That is foolishness. Thats overtrusting em.

The goal wasnt Adebayor's fault, maybe Eduardo's. I agree with U Mc Omo. Eboue shouldda been removed 65 mins in2 d game for Theo.
Arsenal lacked a lil bit of creativity, and Ade was selfish a couple of times.
The future is bright though. Our players will get well soon.
How the rest of them hate that fact that we are atop, and chase they will, licking Arsenal's bum till the season ends. How Man Utd hate to look up to us for now. How Chelsea hates our dominion over them in London. How Totham hide when we roll past. How the rest of em envy Arsenal's technique. How they pray that AW should come teach them how to pass the ball and play beautiful fball.
Gooner 4 life, win or loose. grin grin grin grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Millena(m): 1:07am On Dec 06, 2007
Fergie is no prophet for predicting that Arsenal will drop points playing 3 matches in 2 weeks without 3 regular midfielders and a regular striker. I would certainly love to watch Chelsea play 3 matches in 2 weeks without Makalele, Lampard, Essien and Drogba or maybe Man Utd play without Rooney, Ronaldo, Giggs and Scholes for 3 matches in 2 weeks.
Even a goat head can predict that points can be dropped in a season with 24 matches to go.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Millena(m): 12:43am On Dec 06, 2007
I must admit that the game against NC was tough. Thank God those Arsenal guys fought like men. It is not easy playing with only 1 first team midfielder and 1 first choice attacker. The regular midfielder (Rosciky) isnt even 100%. Also, the replacements for the missing regulars were awful. Gilberto and Eduardo looked lost angry.
In my opinion, Eduardo looks an average buy (for now). He reminds me of Baptista last season embarassed . Gilberto certainly needs more playing time, but at who's expense? Not Flamini I guess. Diaby would have been of much use today with his body strenght and height.
All the same, it is a great point gained. I would certainly love to watch Chelsea play 3 matches in 2 weeks without Makalele, Lampard, Essien and Drogba or maybe Man Utd play without Rooney, Ronaldo, Giggs and Scholes for 3 matches in 2 weeks undecided. You may agree with me that it will not be plain sailing if that happens. Last season, Chelsea lost Terry, Petr and Lampard and they had ridiculously woeful results. That same season(2006 -2007), Arsenal were 4th playing half the season with most of the regulars injured. At a time 7 regulars were out for weeks!
Let all gooners hope that Cesc, RVP, Hleb and Flamini recover quick. How I miss Cesc and RVPPPPP!!! cry cry
