Babe your uncle hires Julius Berger to build his house
what is the problem, that was the firm a friend recommended that does great work and that is what he chose. No be my problem. Na your money.. nope so wetin be your worry jare!! |
blink182: lol, I won't agree with you entirely though. There are very good indigenous firms like dantata and even gomene a deltan firm. Your uncle didn't sign stringent contract papers with the firm that did his house.for you info dantata and gomene must have foreign help in their office, most likely the foreign people hold the higher positions. what am saying is that "some" are just cheaters, not all. |
this is the reason most of nigerian good infrastructure jobs go to foreign companies and firms like julius berger, because they have morals and work ethics. i hate when some nigerians try to cheat in everything, forgetting they are cheating on themselves. Imagine my uncle paid a local firm to complete his house for him, and they kept on asking for more money, and when the house was done it looked shabby and caved in. My uncle ended up having to spend more money hiring julius berger to come fix the rubbish the local firms had done. Lets stop this half hazard attitude and do honest work for once. ah ah is it a crime to trust your country men to do what is right in their field of work. SMH |
mercylicious: Thank u my brother.yes achara tea( a specie of tiger grass only found in west africa) is a better in caffine and anti-oxidant than green teas... so people can begin big businesses ooo if they really think about it. |
ngozievergreen: Thank God i av graduated frm medicine bfr he said dis. Cant imagine studying herbals- d same thing dat damages ma patients kidneys and liver. Plus increasd workload i could have had.that is why they should have actual practicing herbalist as consultants. |
Richfella: Lol, mimifonwon the herbalist!lol i know some stuff, lol, I plan to do my phd in three years on how native herbs and medicine can change the face of modern medicine- i have been collecting data and i have been taking notes from my grandmother since i was 18tn, now 24, got 4 journals full, but again i havent done the actual chemical breakdown of each potion she makes, but i know they work, and right now i dont have the time, but hopefully when i get married and start having kids i can convince my husband to sponsor my research ( financially) and by letting me stay at home ( naija) for 5yrs with our kids while he stays abroad. . If nigeria had better research facilities, and with the kind of talent there is there, naija could be the cure haven for ailments. |
i so agree with this, for western medicine no matter the developments -it cannot cure all the ailments in africa, for africa must learn to look inward to help itself advance to better nations, am proud of nigeria for this, if it is carried out right. The problem sometimes in naija is that we have good ideas but it is rarely carried out right. There are so many ailments that dibia's or native doctors know how to cure better. For example when am on my period, i drink 4oz onugbu( ewuro), ugba water, and nchawu boiled with 1teaspoon of salt added and i dont get cramps through my period, and it helps with stomach aches too, and if you boil mburogu with ayakata, fish head and aligator pepper and give to a woman who just gave birth it helps her heal faster. Also if you have high fever and you drink ewuro( first rinse) and oha water ( 1 full cup), your fever will go within an hour. ( crush akilu, akanwu( 1/5 tsp), palm oil(1tsp) and oji( kolanut and its fruit and orchard fruit and you drink it while studying it helps your memory and keeps you awake like hell depends on the amount you take. Its better than red bull. (my grandma-native doc makes them). It helped me through out college, and my brother who had what americans called add and my grandma was like, "rubbich, bringi him to nigeria and i will cure him" lol - my mom did as she said and my brother was definitely cured, his now a physicist and i guess it made him too focused. But what am trying to say is that most of our cures we need is in nature and our native doctors are better than most western doctors, and understands our body and nature better, its just ignorant and brainwash that makes us believe that western medicine is better than our native medicine. Yes there are things western medicine can offer that native cant, but its better if they work together. Btw my grandma is a healthy 98 year old woman, still farms and cooks her own meals and take care of herself without anyone's help. So I trust her native medical ways, and she has never been to a modern doctor or to a hospital( she hates western doctors). |
IZUKWU: how is your catfish!izu ghi na achum uka ooo... hafu'm aka |
@op, am going to tell you this from a woman who knows someone who used to use that method to her advantage. First of all if after u talk to her and she doesnt change, tell her you would end the relationship, there is no need to be in a relationship let alone a marriage that has no trust. Yes it has no trust. am suspecting that she is trying have control over you, and you play well into her act of guilting you into doing what she wants. the way i see it she has a pet in you, infact even pets dont beg all the time. You better sit her down or end that relationship because if it continues like that into your marriage, na fight una go dey do every night and you marriage wont last, and it would have been a waste of time and money taking her down the aisle. Be wise, grow a back bone. Men like you make me sick, i just want to slap you right now for even posting this on here, such a woman ( as in weak) man.tufiaaaa, may God not give me a man without a backbone like you. |
WHO IS THE MODERATOR HERE< I WANT THE POST CLOSED PLEASE!!!! |
who do i contact to close this post, i guess i shouldnt have let my anger blind me to putting someone's life out there, even if it ended up having to enter mine ( which i had right to share). It was bad judgement on my side to post this and to whom it may concern i am terribly sorry once again, i didnt include any names, but i guess someone figured it out,i shouldnt have called you a catfish. Please moderator can you close this post..thanks. |
jjman2322: Huh? im confused.. all im saying here is if anyone from the states that just got back wanna meet up, they should let me know.. guy or girl.. im in the east.. i just cant relate/trust people here, since i didnt grow up here... so im kinda just working and chilling at home.. looking for more friends..well hit me up, when i visit naija in july we can go have some pami...lol, but i dont go anywhere else in the east but aba.But yeah just hit me up via email. |
coogar: except that if the meatseller had offered to take you to bed, you wouldn't have hesitated....who are you fooling with the whole my mother raised me well mantra? even pröstitutes were raised well by their mothers - they just refused to apply the training they got after a while.guy you are fool, i went home for vacation, not just to meet him, yes i was excited to have th opportunity to meet him, but that wasnt the main reason i went home, chale i wasnt that desperate. |
LastApostle: He never asked to be pitied madam queen Elizabeth. He took you for a ride and its you that was too expectant hence your accumulated disappointment going by the tone in your derogatory words on him.well na you sabi, what might not be possible for you, is definitely possible for others. i am a very trusting person by nature, i like to believe the good in people till they prove me wrong. when you have a crush on someone and most of the things he tells u checks out, i mean not all of us be detectives or wanna see the worst in people. if you feel froggy , then jump, because am very real and people who have chatted with me in the past off this nairaland knows that am not desperate, just wanting to make friends, and i dont think its a crime, and fortunately i always become close friends with men than women. My best friends are guys, so its not my fault that i bond with a guy on soccer and other stuff. maybe you live a fictious life, but my dear i dont. after all to some, ones reality might be your fantasy and to others a nightmare. |
Dyt: U jst made jest of d innocent manno i wouldnt. You know how empathy for ones condition surpasses the anger you feel, that was how i felt. I thought okay since he can lie about his life style and looks, maybe i can help him by seeing if i can use my family's contacts to get him an interview, but like i said, he never gave me his cv, so i just shrug it off. Plus his tooo old for my liking and excluding the character, his looks dont please me. |
mrkels: The OP is not neccesarily a 'take home to mama kind of girl'If thunder doesnt fire you where you are then you know you are a fool. Dude for your info i never went after him to sleep with him, granted i was crushing on him, but believe me, that was not my intention, maybe that is the intention of all the woman in your family, but not mines, my mother raised me better. Yes i had a lapse in judgement by wanting to meet someone i met online, but i went with my brothers and my cousins, so i wasnt stupid. And finally may you become impotent for suggesting i am insolent and so forth. Dont judge me by my posts, because i can be a fire breathing tigress when i want and a kind puppy when i want. And dont make me put a curse on you and your generation. You are a perfect fool. And i wont reply your comment for i know you will come at me that i deserved what i got, well so it is. |
touchmeder: All i want to say is that there is dignity in labour. Ive seen so called big boys and girls doing things they would never do back at home. cleaning, scrubbing toilets, degrading care work, shelf stacker, you name it, flipping burger. They would never have done this in their home country but condition makes things different abroad.Truthfully i had a crush on his pictures, he had a to die smile in the pics. Now Liked him more cuz he was so funny and had such good character that is hard to find in many youths in naija( atleast i thought he was a youth). he said he could cook, chai, he had a way with words, very poetic. I confess i liked him, but i wasnt trying to sleep with him-lets get that clear. I just felt betrayed you know. I used to cam up on skype for him, sometimes looking very unkept, but he said he liked me just as i am, so i didnt get why he wasnt willing to reveal himself to me. Like i said i got angry because he lost my trust, i forgave, but didnt forget. The worst part is that he then offered to hook me up with the guy in the pics, and a part of me was like sure, but what i wanted was not only the face and body, but the whole, funny, educated, understanding ethical man that i thought i had gotten to know. So if he was honest from day 1 about his height, physical appearance and age, i dont think i would have even replied his 5th email, probably would have just said " ttylr on nairaland and just stayed cordial towards him. |
chacha3: Hahahahaha pls let me laf,dis is so funny bt at poster dnt be mad at me. Its really the guy's part dat is funny, because I wonder why he pretended to be who he is not imagine all the lies and stories he formulated. Anyways what is wrong about bn a meatseller, so far as what he is doing is not criminal. Hahahaha See packaging, guys are not smiling, no dulling at all. This forum is getting more interesting, shine ur eyes ooooo babes.no nothing is wrong with being a meat seller, just be honest about who you are, i liked the personality and the character i had gotten to know, but i hate being lied to, thats my number 1 petpeeve, he apologized, but the damage had been done. He not only lied about his appearance, he lied about his age, his 13years my senior (smh), but in all he apologized and all i could feel was sorry and pity for him. My brothers said the same thing you said about him having an honest living, but i would have rather i knew that beforehand. |
sdbaba: Your story sounds interesting and i would like to meet somebody like you. I do visit the states a couple of times a year and wouldn't mind you showing me around town. What state do you live in if I may ask? Can I have ur email addy pleasesure, i wouldnt mind showing u around, no wahala, i live in schaumburg,il |
ogtavia: honestly,i av thot about it,maybe she was twice-hoodwinked,there is more to this than the guy has to say,abi is it a mere coincidence that d guy is short, ugly and a meat seller in Oshodi who supposedly has been faking it but out of the blues came out with the truth, somebody is playing or toying with somebody somewhere..IMOfor your info he wasnt that ugly, he was just too old for my liking and he used his nephew's picture ( atleast thats what he said) to pose. Never met his nephew, but i maintained contact with him, condition of unemployment in the country left him to be a meat seller, he has a first class degree in accountancy( according to him), so i told him to send me his cv and see if i can help him, and before i left naija he was yet to send it. When i say short he was close to my height and am 5'7.5 ft. Again life na teacher, no condition is permanent, what pissed me off was that he lied all along. |
jadakiss213: how are we sure Mimifonwon aint no catfishwell its for you to find out, why dont you throw down a good bait, i promise am a good catch ![]() |
achi4u: hahahahalol we met him at the market and he took us to his shed where he works with his aunt for the time being until he gets a new job, and sells meet with her. They were very nice, i was just surprised he had the time and money to come on line, let alone own a bb? I was like am i missing something? But i learned my lesson. |

lol then tell him to hit me up, its good to have friends, u have my email... ttylr |
Rooneyboy: oh your cousin being 6'2 and a model dont mean nothing to me, am sure his full of himself. The truth is i dont go for pretty-model type boys, because they are narcissistic, and not trustworthy( maybe your cousin is,idk) and they have a tendency to flow between streams, plus i dont like to share.those celebs must be ashawos, and without morals. and my dear dont ever compare me to any celeb, its an insult to me. and its sad you agreed you cousin travels between streams cuz what it means is that he bleeps what ever he sees, man or woman( hopely he travels down stream more than up stream ). no vex, na my opinion i dey yarn. |
Rooneyboy: there she goes again, infact lemme tell u the truth dear , he wld hv swept u off ur feet had it been u agreed then.i dont keep close friendship with people who lie to me at first, but i told him if he is ever in the usa, hit me up and i will show him around..lol. But jokes aside i pray he gets his life together. oh your cousin being 6'2 and a model dont mean nothing to me, am sure his full of himself. The truth is i dont go for pretty-model type boys, because they are narcissistic, and not trustworthy( maybe your cousin is,idk) and they have a tendency to flow between streams, plus i dont like to share. i dont get my heart broken, cuz i haven not fallen for anyone in such manner before and i doubt your cousin will my heart go kedike. am sure his a nice guy, but as they see beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and for me, it goes past looks, but into character and morals. but like i said before thanks for considering me, but i would have to decline the offer. ![]() |
How many movies have the so-called A-list actors featured in in the past 3 years? Listen, only a few of them can boast of still being relevant in Nollywood, hence why most of them are trying their hands in music. Secondly, you should have known that AGN has about 3 factions, and each actor pays allegiance to the faction he/she belongs to? Thirdly, a lot of Nigerians especially actors have not come to terms with the idea of having an ex convict in an elective post. Hence why some of the A list actor may not show up for the party. As for Tonto, she's never been known to be an outdoor person or into groupies. She drinks and smokes but that's just about it. Pay little attention to her media rascality. @Ibinabo She looks happy and younger than ever. Thank goodness for her. However, electing a person of her social status should not be encouraged. Its no different from allowing the likes of Alamesiegha, Ibori and Bode George back in elective posts.
actuallly that is where you are wrong, it is different for she served her time and they didnt. she didnt knowlingly plan to murder someone of take someone's life, it was an accident. As for those political thieves u and i know they planned their thiefing ways and carried it out without a care. So talk something you know, not just what sounds good to you. |
Rooneyboy: see this my long lost buddy ooo, I remember u vividly, we were very close sometime in November 'I guess', after a while I stopped hearing from u, "and wasn't bothered anyway" .lol i was not looking for a boyfriend, just a friend to hang with in naija when am home other than my relatives, but your cousin is in the usa, and i dont think he would be my type anyways if i wanted to date, i like mature men, not old or too young, but thanks for the offer, and rooney it takes two way communication and patience to make any friendhip work, and i dont like being the only one making contact, its not lady like.. i hope you had a great new year... ![]() |
seedord247: Now the westerners are learning from us... This act is usually praticed in igbo land.are you okay what part of igboland it is an abomination to marry a mother and child... please spk something you know and not rubbish that enter your mouth... insignificant corpse!!! |
So i was in naija recently, i have met some cool people here on nairaland, and some have emailed me, i just wanted friendship and someone to hang with when i got to nigeria. So i met this guy ( will not name him cuz i really feel sorry for him, if he will go to such extent to be someone else, he was one of the contestant for mr.nairaland). Anyways i thought this guy was hot, ( na me be the mugu), it wasnt like i was trying to do him ( am a good girl, wasnt looking for that). Anyways this guy and i had been emailing and even skyped, but he always said he couldnt cam up, but always asked me to cam up. I have to admit he was funny, handsome and was everything i liked in a guy, and he said he just graduated from uni in uk and relocated to naija for nysc. I was really taken away by his patriotic spirit, anyways, fast forward we had been chatting with eachother for 4 months until i got to naija. I gave him my number and invited him to come to my uncle's house where i was staying in lagos and he kept giving some excuses, i was getting angry, one time he said his car broke down and the other time he said he just got robbed on his way to meet me so he ended up not coming. Anyways i offered to have someone come pick him up, but he said no, that his gateman lost the key to open the gate, so he has to wait for his sister who had the spare key to come back,i believed him( abi na me be mugu). This guy man, was so kind in his words and reassuring that i just related everything to bad luck, but the day i was about to go to the east to visit my grandmother's village he calls and askes me if i would still be his friend if he wasnt so handsome and had all the money he claimed he had. I was like sure, why not, i didnt befriend you for your money, yes i was attracted to him, but it was his character and words that won me over. Anyways he says i should come to oshodi and that he will meet me there, and so just curious i convinced my brother and my cousins to follow me there, when i finally met the guy, he was a meat seller, and yes he was a graduate, but i was amazed how well he fooled me, even his british accent he faked was good. He told me how much he liked me when he saw my picture and knew i wouldnt talk to him if he didnt play big boy. I was shocked, but i forgave him, no he wasnt even cute, he was 37 year old guy, and short, nothing like the pictures he sent me, but yes i learned my lesson, and that is why i am done befriending people on nairaland, i dont like to be deceived. So if anyone has had similar deceitful experience- what we in america call catfish experience" please feel free to share.. Yes btw i know i was a big Fool X infinity to trust a guy i met online, talk of Nairaland.. I felt so useless... i saw a documentary today and it was like dejavu https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwSvwAQxvBs so does anyone have a catfish story? |
This is the reason i say nigerian youths are so gullible. Look at this nonsense this ewu of man called orji, pdp, and his family have done to abia state. so you see pictures of .00000001/100 of the roads needing to be fixed and you all are happy because you see a fix in one area.. rubbish. First of all let no one come at me cursing me and telling me how well orji and his people have done for abia state cuz, the only thing they have done is ruin it. I was recently in nigeria, abia state, eluama umuama village. Now if you really want to see how neglectful this so called government have been on their duties, you will cry. In eluama ( my maternal grandmother's home), which is also where abia state university is located, the roads are like death trap, erosion, slowly forcing people to run away or die of land slide. This is the things government could truly invest in, i hate people who only talk and you never see result or progress. I swear that is why i have put a curse on all of the governors in nigeria when i went to the dibia in my grandmother's village this past november. If they dont do right by the people, they will not live past 2years to enjoy anything in their lives, bet me, and dont be scared am not a winch..lol, i speak the truth and voice of my ancestors and they are angry. I believe in God, but not in a forgiving God, mine takes vengeance. Welcome to 2013, if by the end of this year if 7 or more of these thieves and their families dont fall deadly sick or leave office by force ( p.s i know atleast 8 of this governors families very well, so i know their atrocities), then call me a mugu and reverse the curse on me. So i have said it, so it has been done, unless they do right by the will of the people justly. P.S. I dont give a sheitttt what anyone says on here, the deed has been done. And as we can see youths like franchizy who have been paid to lie and construct fiction about state of things in abia state is our problem, some youths without morals and integrity. If you dont know franchizy i know the likes of you they put up to do propaganda this this shit, my brother was approached by a newly elected southwest governor to do propaganda for him, and my brother said " uncle no disrespect, but i dont work for the devil," the man got angry and had my brother escorted out of his premises, made his daughter to quit her relationship with my bro, why, because he refused to do his bidding. And may the sickness and bad omen befall anyone that knownly help these people achieve their deceit of the people. So it is said, and so it must be done!! |
Freiburger: Or Afghanistan?stop being ignorant, if you dont know arranged marriage still happens all over nigeria, so whether its afghanistan or nigeria, it happens... such myopic ewus... infact more arrange marriages last longer than love marriages if ya dont know. |
. If nigeria had better research facilities, and with the kind of talent there is there, naija could be the cure haven for ailments.
