No, it's not compulsory to make a transaction. As long as the funds in your account don't go below what you require within your 28-day count, you're good.

Note that from January '24, masters students aren't allowed dependants so factor in the time of your wedding and the turnaround time for visa applications in your calculations.

Usually, yes. The schools usually want to be sure that you've held the money for 28 days as stipulated by UKVI in order for them to reduce your chances of a refusal.

Check the rate on Oanda for today. If it's sufficient for your fee balance and upkeep, submit your application so that you have peace of mind that the exchange rate wont affect your funds.

I am presently putting documents together to present for 8 years study gap (2015). Kindly help me review the following situations below:
1. I believe I can tender my NYSC certificate as part of my proofs

2. I completed a postgraduate Diploma in Management(2019) in a different university in Nigeria. However, my B.Sc was in Health science(Physiology) and my M.Sc I want to pursue now is also in Health science (Biomedical science) but the PG Diploma is in Management science. Hope it won't bring up issues that I didn't have focus on career progression at the visa office. I just want to use it to cover for my study gap.

3. I have an appointment letter from a Private school (2021). The payment was a meager one but the appointment letter was properly typed and presented on a letter head and signed. Also, the salary was not stated as it came on a different letter (or payslip). Can I submit this as well?

4. I got a job last year july(2022) for a 6 month contract in a reputable Non-Governmental Organization. The contract expired in December and yet to be renewed as at now. The appointment letter is a 3 page document. However, the salary (#150,000) was stated on the 2nd page. I am concerned on the salary relative to just the 6 months contract and it was recent appointment(last year). My question is can upload just the first page of the appointment letter as it contains virtually the necessary information except signature which is on the last page and back it up with work reference letter from my line manager or should I just ignore the appointment letter and just get only the work reference letter?

5. Can just these 4 items be enough to cover up for my 8 years study gap?

1. It's feasible but you'd need to provide a sole custody document ir death certificate of their father for you to take them with you. You'd also need to provide evidence of arrangements for them - communication with schools and childminders for when you'revat school/work.

2. Provide all related documents for your application including birth certificates and evidence that they've been living with you and being your responsibility.
If you have someone on ground to help sort your accommodation needs, that would be helpful and help you ease in faster.

3. This is tough but doable. Getting a childminder or someone to do school drop-offs and pickups as well as after school clubs or breakfast clubs will help but this usually requires adequate funding as the rates can be quite dear depending on how much money you have in a ddition to your maintenance costs.

1. Use your UK address but note that your tenancy agreement would show that it's a shared and that has the potential to be an issue because you're supposed to show that there are adequate accommodation arrangements for your kids to join you.

2. You can use that since that's where they would call if they need to clarify any info via a phone call. Using your Naija number can be prone to network issues.

3. As long as there are sufficient funds in it. You can also use your UK account.

I got a US denial in 2018, I applied together with my brother. We were both teenagers so my dad went in with us. My dad doesn’t recall us collecting any refusal letter.
I applied to the UK in 2019 for visit visa and i was given. My dad didn’t submit any refusal letter for the application he only answered yes.
We’re still looking for the document. He’s asked me to inquire because this is a student visa and he doesn’t want any issues for me

In addition to duchess90's response, chats/calls and marriage certificate + any money transfers (upkeep) to each other - verifiable on your account statement will help but the ECO might or might not request for more proof.

Pictures help so make sure that you have pictures of the wedding amongst others.

In the past, UKVI didnt ask for too much proof but with the rise in sham marriages, it's become increasingly regular for UKVI to ask for more proofs to ascertain that a union is real.

Yes, joint account if you have one. The ECO might want to see historical transactions to prove that it wasn't just opened for the visa process but then, if submitted along with other documents proving a genuine relationship, it might not raise brows.

You can buy a sim from the airport or once you get into town. Alternatively, you can connect to the airport WiFi or the WiFi where you will be staying - most houses have WiFis.
There is also free WiF in some locations/trains/buses but I'm usually wary of some free WiFi due to security concerns.

Another option is to roam your line but the cost is dear vis-a-vis buying a PayG sim, calling app (Tesco/rebtel and the likes) or using WiFi for WhatsApp.
