It isn't the man that wants to come to the UK, it is the lady and if the lady doesn't have a visa that allows her to live/work in the UK, she can't make an application in and from the UK. If she lives in Nigeria, she has to apply in Nigeria.
RubyOgex:
The man being a UK citizen, doesn't he has the right to go back to his country and apply after the wedding in Nigeria. or it must be where the lady lives?

Yes, the rate on the date of your online submission is what's used.
Damdad:
Good morning, please I want to confirm , The rate used by UkVI for proof of fund , is it the rate as at the day you submit your application? Is that what they use to gauge all the 28 days ?

That's the right thing. Some will even ask you outrightly during the interview and make a note of it so that once you start, those dates can be blocked out for you on the system. Would you advise that the person lies if asked and turn around after getting the offer letter to say that "actually, I have a planned holiday which I forgot to tell you about during my interview"?

I have always declared my holiday/leave plans at the interview stage and it never discredited me. One time, I went on A/L 3 days after my start date because this was something that had been pre-planned; I've also had collegues going on A/L few weeks in their employment because they stated this during their interviews.

You're not expected to put planned events on hold irrespective of the impact on you. When you have holidays, surgeries and the like coming up, it is always better to state them upfront except you don't have firm arrangements by the time you have your interview.

After you start, you need to be sure that your A/L dates are approved before making plans but this doesn't obtain at the interview stage so it is understandable that you have some planned AL with firm commitment and bookings already.

If you feel more comfortable not disclosing this during your interview, then that's your choice to make, not mine. Just keep in mind that it might or might not come back to bite you in the a***.
davide470:
You people should be calming down with all these advice na. Why would you tell a recruiter you have extended holidays for yourself during interview?

Please do all you can to get the job and after signing the offer letter, tell them you have holidays already planned.

As long as it doesn't dip below what you require within your 28-day period, you're good.

What does your situation allow? It is not about what's more preferable but what's more realistic. If you live in Nigeria, the logical thing is to apply from Nigeria, If you live in the UK on a visa that allows you to live/work in the UK, then you apply in the UK.
If you live in Nigeria and want to apply in the UK outside these two scenarios, then you need to be unmarried and apply for a fiance visa to the UK, get married within 6 months of getting to the UK and apply immediately after - this is more expensive as you'll be pay more in visa fees.
RubyOgex:
but which is more preferable? applying in UK or Nigeria?

Telling an employer about your leave is the right thing to do especially if you have made firm plans that can't be changed before you made it to the interview stage. If the job isn't given, then they wouldn't have given it even if you didn't have holiday plans anyway.
ugoonuoha:

what is the goal in your application? To get fulltime employment right? Then it's better to align your answers to what the decision maker would want. Put yourself in their shoes, would you employ someone now for a Jan 2023 start date that intends to go for extended Christmas holiday or is in full time studies and it will clash with work duties. Even if you have plans or need some days off, when you resume you go navigate am. I know a friend, that took job in a city 100miles away and employer thought it was same city because it was hybrid role so the guy was commuting and Airbnb'ing. If the person told them he was in a different city na rejection letter for end am. Wisdom is profitable to direct

Getting accommodation of £700 for the 3 of you in London will be like finding a pin in a haystack. Rent in London isn't playing and the houses are taken up quite quickly; you will most likely need to up your budget except you get a good samaritan who's willing to charge you less but that's gonna be tough.
Typical rent for a 2-3 bed flat is anything from £1,300 and above; some 1 beds are from £1,000 upwards depending on the area. You might be lucky to get something lesser but all I can say is try.
The further you're from London, the cheaper your rent might be but this will mean an increase in your transportation costs.
Use your school's postcode to review distance and house rent so you have an idea of how much it will most likely cost you.

Nothing more to add. You nailed what I would have typed.
koonbey:

Message her politely (just because you said 'challenge' - make you no go offend your helper cheesy) with a coherent, succinct summary of the points you want to make and then link to the Home Office guidance documents (and if possible cite specific sections). This is because your message may likely be forwarded to a 'higher-up' manager who'll have less time sifting through long messages or documents.

Most of these people (unless they are in HR) aren't familiar with these things and once you make it clear it's quire straightforward, they'll typically be more amenable.

Best of luck.

What kind of job is it? Is it an HCA role because I know that HCAs are sometimes sponsored at Band 2? Is it on the shortage occupation list? Why is the person not looking for jobs with higher banding now or after spending a few months in this role if the person is just trying to get NHS experience? It is very easy to get stuck at lower bands with low pay in the NHS if desperate. Aside sponsorship, will the person be willing to remain stuck at that level for a while as it can be sometimes difficult to move up bands in the NHS if the current role doesn't give much room to take higher- level responsibilities?
Gloriouscrown:

Hi Mimi, someone I know got an offer with a particular trust, band 2 but 10.10£ per hour. He tried to ask for sponsorship but the Hr said they don't sponsor unless his line manager endorses him. He is yet to start the job but his tier 4 visa expires mid next year. He is keen on this job because it's a stone throw to his accommodation and he is not planning on moving anywhere else for now. Any advice regarding sponsorship?

Cc rayralph, everyone with any pointers.

Thank you

Most jobs don't because it doesn't meet the minimum pay except the person is being paid at the top pay point. The only other reason that band 2 jobs will be sponsored will be if the jobs are clinical and/or on the shortage occupation list.
Gloriouscrown:

Are you saying nhs doesn't sponsor at band 2?

Thanks

Wow! That will be a problem except a miracle happens because the required funds MUST be in your account the immediate 28 days before the date of your online submission or 28 days which ended not more than 31 days before your online application date.
Baggiomarrio:
that what am saying it was not upto 28 days before the online application
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by mimilyrics: 2:53pm On Nov 29, 2022
That's not necessary. You made your application within 31 days of your closing balance print date. If it makes you feel better print from the 20th of October till the date before your biometrics but it really doesn't matter.

I think you're confusing yourself and worrying for nothing. Was the money in your account for at least 28 days before your online submission and payment? If it was, it doesn't matter if you printed a day before biometrics as long as the statement shows that the money was in your account for the 28 days before your application or a 28 -day period that ended not more than 31 days before your online submission.
Baggiomarrio:
I just submitted a printed statement of November 18 with a closing balance of November 18 as well and I did my application 7 November .. with hat you guys have said so far I supposed to submit a statement with closing balance date of like 6november

I think the OP is getting things mixed up as print date doesn't matter if the account statement covers the 28 days prior to application / the 28-day period that's been relied on to show available funds for the application.

Seems like baggiomarrio is talking about a situation where you print before submitting your application in which case you must apply within 31 days of printing the statement whereas he might have made his application after the money had spent 28 days or more in his account before applying but he's concerned about the date of printing his statement. If the latter is the case, you have nothing to fear but if it is the former, then you need to provide more clarity about your situation.
WilsonBright935:

Honestly, I'm hearing this for the first time o.
I printed my statement of account a day before my bio and I wasn't queried about that.

It has always been on the gov.uk site and it has been discussed at different points on this thread and previous ones.
If the money in your account was 28 days old and above before your online application submission and payment and clearly reflected on your submitted statement, you have nothing to worry about because your biometrics date isn't your application date. If it wasn't, then there's a problem.
Baggiomarrio:
am just hearing about this now any way but have you seen any one refused because of this mistake? Because I literally took all my documents to tls because it was assisted service I choose with statement I printed out 3 days befir my bio

No dependants. When you're married, he can apply as your dependant but until then, he's not your dependant in this context.

It's not a new update. It's always been this way. Your POF has to mature before you submit or pay for your application online else you risk being refused.
Baggiomarrio:
Goodmorning every one .. I just head one new update now.. they said your pof must be matured before starting your application and if you start your application and pay for visa and ihs and went on to print pof a day to your bio , it might attract nfs from the Ukvi and you will be ask to provide the necessary date day want.. please how true is this ? Because printed mine 3 days to my bio am really worried

It's okay. Decisions to travel or not to travel can change at any time and the ECOs know that this isn't usually cast in stone.

You don't need an immigration lawyer for AR. Just apply for AR stating why you think that the refusal was wrong and include evidence of your unspent funds in your account while also including receipts for the portion that has been spent towards bills, rent, tuition etc.
Jacobesther123:

Good evening @dduchess90,so I disturbed those people today again until they finally sent my husband's decision letter to his mail today, the eco refused his visa because he thought the money was recycled. But it's not I have all documents to back it up which I did silly mistake of not adding at the point of application thinking the Eco will send NSF requesting for it if need be,but too bad he or she did not. And I count it to be a great mistake on my part I should have uploaded the documents to back it up at the initial stage. I paid additional 2500 pound at enrolment,my house rent is 545 pounds per month and I have spent roughly 3 months now and I have evidence of all these that I was suppose to upload at ones and I have statement of account of my Llyold account for all my grocery shopping since I arrived. It's so painful because I have evidence that I thought the Eco will ask and I will send I guess we are not lucky on that. But we were given opportunity of AR and I have contacted an immigration lawyer here to act on our behalf to make the AR swift and smooth. Or what do you think about the AR?

I don't think so going by the information on gov.uk. Link below. The jobs that can be sponsored as band 4 and below do not include admin jobs except the pay is above 25,600. Getting above 25,600 as a band 4 admin means that the person is at the top pay point which is usually attainable only after some years within the NHS.
Also, someone on a student visa who got a job of less than £25,600 will only be sponsored if they quote the attached screenshot as many NHS recruiting managers will not sponsor except you are able to provide proof from the gov.uk site. Not many people get to the stage where they are able to show that.
NHS Payscales: https://www.nhsemployers.org/articles/pay-scales-202223
Information on eligible sponsored professions inclusive of Bands 3 and 4: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-pay-scales-for-eligible-healthcare-jobs/national-pay-scales-for-eligible-healthcare-occupation-codes
Information on when you can be paid less - many people on students visa can use this but most never get the chance to: https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/when-you-can-be-paid-less
Note: Many people in NHS HR and/or recruiting managers will tell you straight up that they can't sponsor B3/B4 admin jobs even if they have to advertise the job multiple times. Most would rather not go the trouble since it's usually easy to fill such roles without necessarily sponsoring the candidates. Also, most B3/B4 jobs are usually roles that don't require so much skill per se so when most recruiting managers put these jobs out, they are not willing to sponsor.
rayralph:

I guess NHS Scotland is totally different from NHS England in this aspect.

No, that's not quite right. For admin/project support roles and its likes, there's no sponsorship at band 3 but for HCA roles and it's like, yes.
rayralph:

Sponsorship is from band 3.
