No, one can only be a psychiatrist having graduated from Medicine and done residency in psychiatry.. Psychology is a 4 year b.sc programme and the person qualifies as a psychologist not a psychiatrist.

I know as I work in a psychiatric facility, what I meant was that since he wanted to be a fake doctor, why wasn't he bold enough to opt fot being a fake psychiatrist rather than a GP.

It then means you are going in for Msc Psychology (conversion) which upon graduation (please do confirm it is accredited by the BPS) you will be eligible to join the British Psychological Society (BPS) as a Graduate member and that will rank you as an assistant psychologist.

The Graduate membership number you will be issued also makes you eligible to join the Psychological Society of Ireland and you will only pay less than €300 to become their member if you intend relocating to go work in Ireland.

Getting a part-time job in a mental health facility while studying would be a good fit. When recruited, they should provide you the needed training for the job and just make sure you obtain the Nigeria Police Character Certificate and travel with.it.

First week at work in a mental health facility, was having a session with a patient in one of the wards, he mentioned some substances he abused and I didn't get it right because he wasn't that audible and he then requested I give him the pen so he could write it down and out of a dangerous lapse of judgement, I gave him the pen......a violation of the rule as I had given him a weapon! Should my then supervisor seen him with the pen...I would have been in big trouble.

I was sweating, the guy was smiling!

I am going in for Msc Clinical Child Psychology and Anglia Ruskin is the only school offering it, which means I have no other school as an alternative, so Cambridge is it for me.

In terms of jobs in my field (mental health), I daily get Cambridge mental health jobs notifications so I guess am covered in that aspect as I have also seen so many other job openings in other fields there in Cambridge. With full-time students of University of Cambridge studying in their colleges scattered all over Cambridge, who are expected not to work during term-time, so the student part-time jobs there during term-time will basically be for Anglia Ruskin students.
