Good morning house,

Pls is there any disadvantage of going for a one year study in the light of the new post study work visa?
I see no disadvantage in it, I am going in for a one year program starting this September and can't wait to finish, so I can switch to work visa because personally I truly can't imagine myself at the present doing a 2 year masters program! cheesy

This is awful.
I can understand her pain but the children are not to blame.
Accept them in. Let your mothers heart be stronger than the heart of a wife.
If the woman intends to separate from the husband, then the man has to be both the father and mother to his children and can get the in-laws from his late wife to assist in providing care.
Travel › Re: Canada Vs Uk: Which Country Is Better For Master. by Mindlog: 7:32am On May 28, 2021
Like you stated, it is easier to get the U.K student visa in compaison to Canada's but one must be realistic with choosing the course to study to improve chances of switching to work visa though from this year, the UK govt is offering an extra 2 years after graduation once the graduate meets the stated conditions.

Personally, I am heading to the UK for a one year Msc which takes 2 years in Canada for the same course, then after graduation I will have the option to stay back and work in the UK or relocate to either Ireland or Canada to work.

Thanks. I will look into the two universities you mentioned. I did Education Chemistry in my first degree. So any related course would do for me.
Since you had your B.Ed in Chemistry, take out time and research what postgraduate studies you can take up to make you eligible to teach chemistry in the UK after graduation because there is a shortage of chemistry teachers there. Utilize the opportunity, your undergraduate degree has provided you

ekene101:
I guess the palmwine we drink these days and the ones being sold around was fetched from your village stream.
Mind you,it's not about the availability of blender or engines,my mom for one prefers to use grinding stone to grind pepper and other spices when cooking banga soup or other native soups, but I for one would prefer to use blender or other manual engine to get the job done.
Her reasons: grinding stone adds some kinda flavor to the meal.
Based on your observations, what is the age range of our present-day palmwine tappers?

Grinding stone adds no flavour to meals as it is just the sentimental value she attaches to it because it is just the "appliance" available back then before the advent of blenders and note some communities even back then didn't use the grinding stones rather only used the mortar and pestle.

Some ladies said this is 21st century and no man should constrict them to this kind of harsh life when there is electric grinding machine.

Should homes still keep this grinding stone?
When last did you go to a post office to buy stamps and post letters or do you use charcoal iron to press your clothes?

Nice one.

The core North do not want to go through this way of investing into improved breeds and in-farm fodder production but would rather believe it is their God- given right to destroy people's farms in the search for fodder and water.

Your baby is enjoying his solitary stage of play, passing through the tiniest space is still intriguing him and it is no cause for worry because it only just a phase that would wean off, just make sure he is constantly being observed and plays in protected spaces.

When you bring up such habit, some friends term you "pompous" "proud" and other names.

For a child to go to this level in a visitor's house suggests so many things about his upbringing.

Having such parents ad friends is an error.
They are free to term me anything for not being their kids' enabler, I dey see more than that for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinic where I work and where some parents still expects you to pamper their children despite the clear case of conduct disorder.
Family › Re: If You Meet Yourself In This, What Would You Do? by Mindlog: 7:40am On May 23, 2021
I will lift him off from there and get down to the child's eye level and convey to him the rules and consequences of breaking the rules, if he wants to continue to visit my place with his mommy, there are things that I don't accept. Children should be taught to acknowledge and respect boundaries as early as possible.

The friend should restrict her permissive parenting style to her house and I am not obligated to be one of her kid's enablers.

Family › Re: Can U Allow Ur Male Friend Continue Stay In Ur House With Ur Wife While U Relo by Mindlog: 10:05am On May 22, 2021
The man should be assertive enough to tell his friend to find alternative accommodation as it does not bode well, him living with his wife and children in his absence as he needs to avoid confusing his children with who the male authority figure of the house is. With reality of sexual abuse even committed by relatives, one has to be very cautious over who they allow into their homes.

A 36 year old man staying with a married friend who has 3 young children should know that after a week of being sheltered, he should move out to any of his relatives or bachelor friend's home if he is yet to get his own place.
