You that you entered with express entry, how much is your current after-tax take home? You better keep kwayet and manage your life jeje. Jero. |

lilfreezy: For those awaiting AL, and most especially those awaiting AD, I would advise you start writing your visa motivation letter on time so you can make necessary readjustment with time. You might just be unlucky and get appointment date two days ahead, living you with limited time to prepare well for the interview. I say this cos some people might decide to cancel their dates and you might just be the one to replace them. Thanks alot. Can you help outline all key points required in a motivation letter? |

amikable97: If you live in Lagos, why not do the interview in Lagos, well its up to you oh. I don't know but you can mail them sha explaining why you want to have your interview ]n Abuja, also if the address in your admission letter bears Abuja then you are likely to have your interview in Abuja.
You have a partial scholarship na, so you can actually tick the scholarship option and go along with the proof too amikable97 and Tommynaku Thanks a million. Re-booked under A-list. Just a little observation by the way, i noticed that in between when i booked on Tuesday and now (42 hours), about 9,459 bookings were made (subtracting new ref no. from the old) and i'm like Kilode? ? ? on top this Germany sha |

amikable97: Yes cancel and reapply What do i choose in these options? I live in Abuja. Appointments in Abuja are very limited and subject to availability. --- (I actually live in Lagos, but can travel to Abuja if required) I have a scholarship of a German organisation. --- (I don't have scholarship of a German Organisation, I only have a discounted fee from my school, and it was also called scholarship) |

Metronimos: I cancelled on Monday and reapplied same day in category A, and nothing yet...just the confirmation of application. I don't think it has anything to do with the holiday, but rather the large deflection of applicants from B to A. Senior man, abeg this deflection thing, how e be sef? I have CGPA of 3.57/5.0 in my BSc do i qualify for that A-List thing? Because I'm looking at that option of holding a bachelor's degree with a grade of 1. Class - 2. Lower Class and being accepted for a master's degree... |

Good morning all,
Please i have received admission and my question is, on this forum we are asked to send a mail requesting for visa interview date, but when i checked the website all i did was to request appointment through the booking system and in the email i got as response, the following lines were there:
Approximately 2 to 3 months in advance of your appointment you will receive a e-mail with the exact date of your appointment.
Please refrain from inquiries in the meantime.
Please am i on the right track or i still need to send mail requesting for visa interview date?
Thanks. |

Snappyfingaz: From the post, the guy in question is a lawyer if I'm correct, entry level at 55k per year before tax would amount to like 3k per month and factor this into the whole situation - he needs to write the bar exams before he can practice. Bill's alone would take at least 2k from that 3k per month... mehn, personally I would stick to my 1M/month job in naija. Canada does not respect your Nigeria work experience and Canada will not negotiate you based on the pay grade in your naija company, and like you pointed out, this guy has not told us if he has taken additional education in Canada to boost his chances for the high paying jobs. If we drag the line between entry and average, this guy may be on 97k job (if he is lucky enough), this is pre-tax. At close to 27% tax, he earns about 1.6m naira monthly before the bills kick in. If we critic this guy on the basis of income, we can say he didn't make a good decision because you can save up to 65% of your monthly income in naija which you can't do in Canada, but he didn't leave for money, he left for the environment. |

pacino26: What you're passing through is a phase for most men after their wife put to bed.
It can be as a result of an indescribable feeling of disgust, empathy over what your wife passed through. In some cases also if you're having some financial tsunami. Whatever be the reason don't take it out on her. Talk things over and try to be lively again.
Get her out of limbo too cuz you might have successfully shut her down. Try going out with her and the kid, do a lot of talking and probably she needs to get out of the "I am a mom" act. I don't know but you need to get her dressed up as a hot girl not as a wife. Wish you luck. Thank you very much bro |

Please I bought my Itel phone early this year and it's got warranty, but I stopped using it for like 3 months now because it entered water. I may not be able to come to Opebi because i live on the island and work on the island. Do you have a pickup service? How do i get it fixed? Does warranty cover this? If it doesn't, no probs, I just want it fixed.

nengiscrib: Let me answer the best I can. Not too long ago Canada opened its doors wide to accepts immigrants, and the head in charge (can't remember his name) said Canada needs people and especially young skilled workers and students (undergrads and postgrads).
Jobs are available in Canada, u need to have the mind set of remaining in Canada if u happen to go there, u need to make contacts with people and research on the Internet the possibility of remaining there and getting a job.
If your degree relates with your current experience it will be even better, ie if u studied finance, accounting, business information systems, economics, business administration, business studies etc, then adding a masters degree plus job experience will definitely increase ur chances if getting a job in Canada.
Bur if u have a degree other than that, two things come into play, are u willing to follow the path of ur experience now ie switching degree in masters or about to continue the path of ur undergrad, continuing on ur experience path will be better off I believe but that's just my opinion. Either way Canada provides more opportunities so that shouldn't be an issue, just make sure u put ur head nose leg everything u have on ground to get information on how to stay back there even if it means doing some short course so u can extend ur stay to a certain requirements and / or getting a job.
I know lots of people that went to Canada for undergrads and masters, only one of them is in Nigeria now.
In conclusion if u a thinking or willing to come back to Nigeria after your masters, then don't go to Canada stay back in Nigeria with your job in your pocket. There is no need.
Cheers nengiscrib, Please advise me. I studied Comp Sci. I have 9 years post-nysc experience as I.T professional (of this, 4 years in banking services, 1 year in the bank). Got married this year. I plan to start my move to Canada next year. 1. What is the best method to move with my wife? School or Express entry 2. For the method you pick above, just tell me a TOTAL estimate of what I should budget (in Naira) My income here is not that bad, but am moving because i want a better life. I have been pouring my earnings on lands so that i can sell off and leave. |

Toks2008: Oh yes but that will be on a whole new level...you can't really understand..
I love to spoil my lady and I'm an alpha male to the core meaning even if my wife makes N2m a month I will care less and never ask her for 1kobo but instead I will spend what I can afford on her.
But if hard time knocks I believe she won't be a threat to me because she can take care of herself at least while she allows me the chance to pick up but when a lady totally depends on you for finance and you are facing hard times, the pressure doubles and the resultant effect is usually bad... Very good Toks2008, I can relate with all you said, really. I have been in such situation. Being an alpha male is good. An alpha male wants to prove till the end of the world that he is 'domineeringly responsible' (pardon my English). The unattractive part is that he rarely ask for help. I pray divinity will provide you with a lady that sincerely identifies with you through thick and thin. If you find such, when hard times comes knocking, lower your 'Alpha Male' guards. Ask for help. Move over the hard times faster. My people will say "eniyan l'aso mi" (I wish i can translate that). |

Toks2008: Why sorry? shuts happen in life and you either let it weigh you down or you learn from it and move on.
Why else do I want to marry a financially independent lady? it's because I have learned a big lesson from my previous marriage A financially independent lady can still have affinity for money. |
