Please, please, away with this. Is Uzoho not only one year older? grin. Besides, that's not the point. Okoye is a ready-made basket. When he's in and there's a dangerous advance by our opponents, he creates the impression that he will fumble it somehow. cheesy. This is not to say Uzoho is any better, because I watched our last group game in the nations cup, in which he featured. There was a sequence, where I thought Uzoho was a potential basket too. cheesy. But well I just feel bad about how he was kicked out of that position, thanks to Rohr, even though I admit his injury was part of a sequence of events. Fortunately for us, Rohr is no longer in charge, so if the current coaching staff deem it fit to feature him over Uzoho, then maybe they are seeing something we are not.
Oga away with nothing abg.... we just wanna wake up one morning and c Enyeama in the goal post.....you must give the young lad enough playing time/years for him to be formidable... we started enjoying eyeama from AFCON 2006 to AFCON 2010 (penalty heroics) afcon 2013 and stretching down to his retirement days

I'm not totally sold in okoye...but you guys should chill... the guy is doing a good job at his club with his young age... Even inyama has been beaten by cheap goals and set pieces.
1. Angola slapped us in 2006 with set piece
2. Egyptians used short to almost blind Enyeama at afcon 2010 with loads of goals
3. Kenya humbled us (defending champion) with a breathe taking free kick in Calabar
4. Inyama allowed in a very cheap goal against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa World Cup qualifiers.
So you guys you free okoye... He's a young and vibrant goalkeeper for the future starting from the here and now

Just take a lookout at the Ghana version of okoye...wollacot abi wtin b him name... correct basket but yet the ghanaians are so determined that they will beat us on all the social media outlet.... Whereas one of our top Nigerian fan base site nairaland is filled with all sort of pessimist claiming to be football analyst pointing out baseless and dry fault from one player to the other...

I just stop reading some discouraging pessimist on this thread... Some guys here are just god damn self defeatist
If Ghana were the ones to parade oshimen lookman Dennis Chukwueze free-scoring ighalo..I'm sure that guy's here would have start peeing on their body.... Just because of a standby onazi people have already given the game to the ghanaians.. okoye blah blah blah...abg make una getout..you all plastic fans (to the pessimist)

The problem with you nigerians is that you like to boast too much. You guys forget that football is played on the field, not with mouth

grin Every single time Nigeria is playing Ghana, Nigerians will come out talking big and boasting. But almost every time Ghana had won grin How many times have Eguavoen won as a coach against Ghana? Was he not the coach when the Black Stars beat Super Eagles 4-1?

Even your goalie trainer Agu or whatever his name is, had his tooth broken during a crucial game at the Kumasi stadium during his playing days. He never found that tooth till today. grin

As a Ghanaian, I am not losing any sleep over the game with Nigeria. Ghana will win at Cape Coast and get a draw at Abuja. Case closed cool
Bro Eguavoen defeated your black star in a competitive game and you won him in an inconsequential game

Football playing styles are
Tiki taka(this happens when technically sound ball playing and joggling personnel are abundant in a team)
2. Ghen Ghen pressing (this happens when a team has energetic speedster from wing, midfield and strike position to keep opponent on a running spree for the entire duration of a game)
3. Park the bus and hit on counter (this happens when a team has conservative personnel who cannot confidently do number 1 football style) boring though but can sometimes largely be interesting and result centred.
So anyone a team picks and it works for them, good luck to them! The one wey work for you na em you go use

It isn't just by stadiums o.. They need world class infrastructures!. We are talking about five star hotels in every host cities, convenient mode of transportation, security, and not to mention plenty of money..
A world cup is like a festival... It goes beyond just playing in the stadium..
South Africa experienced a lot of upgrades in it's infrastructure when they hosted the last world cup..
Cameroon is not a poor country ooo, they should be able to provide all those crieteria if given the chance to host...they jus need a little touch of upgrade upon this AFCON to host a successful WC

Criteria for stadiums, hotels, transit, and communications and electrical grids. Infact meeting the criteria for each is necessary for even bidding or at least proof of commitment.

SA spent $4bn on WC preps in 2010. Does Cameroon have that money (it would be more now)
You ask if a whole Cameroon has such money to spend, why won't they have?
SA didn't jus provide the $4bn in a day na, it took them years to prepare for 2010 WC..

Yes, I agree on the that but Cameroon can't host the world cup. Compare their stadiums to Qatar's. It's not just it
Looking at all the stadium that hosted AFCON matches, I think they are all top notch, they may not be up to Qatari standard..
Olembe
Garoua
Japoma...I can't remember all their names, but I think they are all good stadium to host world cup games

SE lost the match because they wanted to play defensive football.

The plan was to score first and defend which is also the plan the Tunisians came with and when the Tunisians noticed it and also noticed the inferiority complex of the SE they started to attack..
The super eagles I watched yesterday didn't play to defend, from the blast of the whistle we started attacking via Moses wing...jus that he was caged.

We have played worse games and come out with something

It is not like we even faced quality teams before we jam Algeria in that AFCON, and once again, Rohr was fired because of a drop in performance. A drop in performance, means we were not even playing as good as we were playing in that AFCON

I honestly don't know how some of you look at your teams, but I do not think of a coach we do not have anymore, and say "He could have done better", because I know that retrospectively, people tend to look better than what they really were. The Rohr of 2019, is better than the Rohr of 2021. We all saw it, everyone saw it, we all noticed the difference in play. That things did not work out does not suddenly make Rohr any better.

Rohr was rightly fired when he was, and this loss to Tunisia will not have me thinking otherwise.
Cameroon was a quality team we met before we played Algeria... Algeria won us with an individual brilliance football, not like there was a onet-two play or a shot that led to goals against us.
Rohrbof 2019 is better than Rohr of 2021, but the fact remains he is still the Rohr we employed, meaning he lost something somewhere that could still be found and make him the Rohr we employed... anyways that brings to fact that we can't get a perfect coach.....even if we get herve Renard, I'm sure his first "as usual first time new coach"impression will becloud our reasoning and when he stays 2/3yrs his flaws will begin to reveal

Your preaching is not accepted. In fact you're shooting yourself.
NFF have expectations, fans have expectations of the football they want to see.

We want good football and we can never have a perfect coach or perfect squad as you rightly said. We're sticking to who we choose; good football.

Thank you
Brother, remove your mindset and target view from 1994 eagles set...
Anyways we are different people in Nigeria Sha, I belong to the "we want trophy regardless of what we play football"

What matters is result, Rohr met us when we were ranked 16th in Africa and left us at 4th that means we were gradually and consistently moving forward. The main target is result not fancy game. They have brought us back to the time of Siasia, Eguaveon and Oliseh

Maybe, it would had been better if we had drawn or lost our final group game in order to humble ourselves ahead of the quarter final game. Our 100% group stage record totally initiated an arrogant attitude at the SE and made us pompous. We underrated/undervalued the Tunisians and believe that, we had won prior to the on set of the match.
That was the logic that helped us in 2019...loose to Madagascar and shock Cameroon
