As things stand now, Yes. I remember I spoke on this weeks back on twitter. I don't know how CIV will do it because it would be the rainy season but time will tell. Changes may happen but summer it is.
CAF should relax na, and revert back to even years....with all this ups n downs around the tournament

They are playing a highline against Toto Ekambi and Aboubakar, the high line was ultimately their downfall but atleast they entertained us
I think that's how they are programmed wink to play

I jus love this Ethiopian team, 4-1 down and still playing high passing possessive football.... Cameroon jus too strong for them, they play like South African though

Based on first half games, the standout teams have to be

Cameroon
Sierra Leone
Nigeria
Equatorial Guinea

I did not see the Mali and the Gabon games, so, I won't speak on the teams from those games. But from Round 1, these 4 teams stood out for me. Looking forward to Round 2 and a clearer picture.
Yeah your pick almost close to mine, cheesy
Mine is
Cameroon
Sierra Leone
Nigeria
CIV(that Max gradel goal touch my heart) grin

Apart from Cameroon wey use 2penalty goals escape from the 1-0 Afcon trend
Can we pick the stand out teams that can make it to the semifinals?
Ok let's wait for second round of matches grin

That Sudanese team I saw cannot park anything.

Under small pressure, they were making so many errors. Their only saving grace was that Guinea-Bissau had a toothless attack. If they try too much, they will concede penalties unnecessarily and leave their net open
Anyways you are right, but somehow they felt Guinea bissau was there match, hence they were also attempting to attack them living some room for opponent striker's penetration
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by minfelix(m): 1:18pm On Jan 12, 2022
The new headache now is how to beat Sudan, I'm very sure they will be coming with game plan of parking the tipper, caterpillar and truck, they won't wanna dare to play a man to man attacking football with us.
This is where Eguavoen has to show us his tactical and technical know-how.
Nigeria/Tanzania comes to mind
Nigeria/CAR comes to mind
One was successful the other was a national disgrace all in the fold of Rohr

If a possession lost can turn into assist for us, I think I prefer to see more of it
E.g 1. Moses " cross possession Lost" against Egypt which later turn into our goal
2. Okocha long throw possession lost against Spain which turn into assist for oliseh thunder strike

Moses Simon loose ball 50times, Moses Simon was dispossessed 79times, Moses Simon was pulled out wrongly 83times grin lolz, ppl just know how to rubbish person effort for this thread.....plss I wanna humbly ask, which other winger in that team should start next game, pls let's suggest so that those who don't wanna see him in starting line up will zuike(rest)
If na onyekuru make coach kuku start am or better still Ahmed Musa una want or better make Eguavoen set up the team like Bayern Munich 2012 creative and end product forward and Use Ejuke and Chukwueze, let them come and dribble and play

Bro, I’m sorry but when I’m analyzing my wingers, I pay attention to their end product I.e Goals, assist, pre assist or even shot on target. I will never accept abysmal end product regardless of how many players dribbled. Simon on multiple occasions beat his man today (credit due) but as usual, his end product was absolutely abysmal. He couldn’t even force 1 single shot on target despite dribbling past his marker easily.. our wingers should go and watch finidi George tape in the early 90’s and see how a winger role is defined.. the Ejuke that some people are wrongly accusing of selfishness, constituted a 2 shot on target in 20 minutes
Anyways nice one Sha....I also like Ejuke as a player, but chill his time with the eagles is almost upon us, chill for him, Moses Simon is still inform sha

I just checked our part to winning this tournament assuming we top our group. (Most likely).
If we win our group, we would face the 3rd place team at group B, E, F (likelyhood) malawi, zimbabwe, E Guinea or mauritania, gambia… If we past that stage, we would likely face
Ghana or Burkina Faso.. (I want Ghana)

Semi final: Senegal.. if we can defeat Senegal, now, I will commend our coaching department
Continue in this might of disseminating information and have peace for the rest of your life....na afa nna , na nwa , na mmuo nso....Amen

Inside the viewing centre today, I met so many ogogoro analyst like 12extralarge pant, many of them never knew about Ejuke, I was the one that uttered a statement saying "this guy na beast on the pitch when he is on the ball, but make una get ready to cos him papa for refusing to release pass to a free man, many of them laughed it off, shortly my brother Ejuke manifested the first one, before you know, voom e don manifest another one, na so ppl start to curse the guy ooo....
I love Ejuke,if he can be more of a team player walai, I go carry him matter for head and drum his support everytime

if I be the coach ejuke don play finish. Olayinka is better than him forget say em Dey lesser league and club
Before today's game I'm sure Ejuke would have read on social media how people are frowning at his selfish style of play, but the guy wanna do his thing his selfish way (all the same I still love his football moves), but if he thinks he will come and be doing what Jay Jay did against Denmark at France 98 where he will dribble dribble and fire shot of "end product to hit bar or fly over keeper crossbar and then laugh over it, spits on the ground and continue the same cycle, if he thinks he will keep doing that, then he has the Vernom of angry 9ja fans to face....

Ejuke had 2 shots on target in the space of 20 minutes. You guys are making it sound like, there was an easy outlet to pass the ball. His team mates weren’t visibly open and Egyptian defenders were on them that’s why he didn’t pass.. I only care about End product I.e goals, assist, shot on target
Ejuke is one the super eagles players I love to watch....but you must give kudos to Moses Simon, going forward he and I heanacho, plus aribo behind them plus a lil effort from awoniyi were the reason kept the Egyptian on their toes....stop rubbishing his inclusion because you want to see end product...go and watch the replay of Sudan and guinea bissau....you go belleful for end product even pack some put inside take away pack dey go house....but wetin end there match...na 0-0...
Go and watch replay of Algeria /Sierra Leone, u go watch end product taya till your eyes rise like Tinubu and oshiomole own...but wetin end the match...oga na 0-0...so give kudos to Moses Simon for his pumping effort of cross into the box, whether some connect well or not....no dey do like woman nyash there

End product not so good, yes... But on the overall, the lad gave everything in both defensive and offensive phases of our plays and had a hand in our goal. Can't take that away from him.
He had a splendid game overall and can be better going forward I hope.
Bros supernerd, you are waisting your time explaining to that 12years old mumu that sees football as dribble dribble dribble with end product hitting keeper when actually he can play a simple pass to add to goal tally preferring to a workaholic who constantly was a menace to opponent defence and also in his attempt to defend he got dribbled by the opposition attack....sir don't pour water into an empty head with big big whole space like that of a goalkeeper post net...plss sir don't explain to him again
