This was the same poor form Argentina brought to the 2018 edition, wey Croatia wan kill them and they couldn't beat Iceland, it's a matter of time Argentina also will soon start missing World Cup...I'm sure if they were playing an African team with this poor form they will still win... Africans and inferiority complex against so called big team

All these things some of you are praising Rohr for, making him look like some sort of genius were accomplished by many previous coaches before him... Keshi and Amodu achieved all that...they were still sacked.. Berti Vogts had a good CV before he was appointed our coach, but after the shambolic display at the AFCON,he was fired...
What's so special about Rohr? If he is that good, why is he yet to get another coaching job?
Na WA oo, Keshi is good amodu is also good, do is rohr good, same way we complained amodu sack prior to 2010 WC is same way we are complaining the unnecessary sacking of rohr b4 Afcon and b4 WC

After five years, we did not grow an inch under Rohr. We did not build a solid team. We were never a convincing side. If that is how you want us to play for the next 20 - 30 years, you are free to enjoy that.

Even under Keshi where I was still critical, we could meet France and give them a game. France resorted to injuring Ambrose and Onazi to have an edge. We played the Catalonia team and matched them. We lost to Spain but we gave them a match. We played Italy and left them by two goals in the first half. They had to bring in Pirlo to reclaim the midfield.

We ripped Mali by 4 goals at the AFCON. It was not all good but were were a good side. All of a sudden, you guys want us to park bus and grind football.

I wonder why I even bother. People want us to play Rohr way.
Anytime he wins convincingly by playing creative attacking football they will say it's individual brilliance from talented players.... I don't see any negatives in the man...he coached us 5years and he earned some respectable feats for us...he is a type of coach that will surely drag your team to a medal and put your name on history book of tournaments..he can't come back again, but he wasn't a bad coach

U lost to Spain but you gave them a match.....We drew Brazil and still gave them a match even with his negative u guys tag him, we beat defending champion at the round 16 and still gave them a match....we lost to a die mins goal to Argentina and still gave them a match.....i don't jus know the growth you people are looking....you think with mentality of 9ja players and current dispensation we are into a certain "super eagle's" can maintain a momentum of football creativity, free flow pass?....bros we can only jus flash it in a tournament or a game and go back to the 9ja we use to know from 2004 till date

Before Rohr came on board, we won the AFCON, beating some tough sides in African football.
Why didn't they go and defend the trophy the following Afcon??....bros any sweet moment of creative and tiki-taka football u enjoyed aside is a flash in the pan performance for super eagle's...only the golden generation boast of that performance for back to back to back to back years...Keshi was a good coach, at least he was sacked for failing to qualify us, why can't u do the same for rohr....

rohr qualified with ease in a group that included Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia in his early years. This same rohr had to grind out results and dragged third round qualification to the last day against teams like cabo Verde, Liberia and central African republic. If not that you are mischievous you would clearly notice the massive decline in the quality of our football. It's shocking that after witnessing rohr's last days we will still be wishing he was not sacked whenever we lose a game. Omo you no try at all oo.
So because of that small decline u sacked him grin Omo na WA oo...let him loss the ticket b4 u sack him na ...those decline are not football reason to sack a coach... towards the later end of WC group stage qualifiers, all teams intensified preparations and were reqdy for any top team...that did not stop us....oga u ppl should leave him to play Ghana and see whether Ghana will score a goal here in the playoffs

with the way we were playing under rohr during the 2022 wc qualifiers, it seemed as if the man wanted to return us to where he met us. I can't believe there are still people around who will clamour for rohr's return. Even if jp is sacked any time soon rohr should never be called again.
I would have preferred he dragged us backto that status he picked us from, so we can finally nail him with mad mad criticism, not assuming he was dragging us because of u guys were tired of him.....una jus sack person for yeye reasons(he is not subbing ontime, he is conservative) bla bla bla....jagajaga reasons

Gernot Rohr had Mikel, Onazi, Etebo in midfield. Mikel left, Onazi battled injuries.
Our games saw it's gravest decline when Etebo is either not in the squad or is not starting.
The was inevitable, we are neither Germany nor Spain, it is expected if those top guys were fading there will be some form of drop, it happens to African team ..even our golden boys days...as they were leaving we started experiencing decline, it's normal but that doesn't stop the old man from pushing through....person qualify us to Afcon and WC play off una sack am.....e sure me we and Ghana for drag 0-0 enter penalty....shey u dey whine me ni ooooo, shey u dey whine obarise

Because we will never achieve greatness with negative football. We just stay average for years as we were under Rohr. To the point we had to defend against South Africa.

We will wake up when we are ready to grow.

Coach that can not scout and build a team, is that a coach?
It is u ppl that tag it negative football, a pattern is grinding results for u, u tag it negative... wether negative or not, rohr kept Nigeria's status on top from start of his appointment till his sack...our rank remained African top 3best teams..strikers,defenders,midfielders were all shining under him...we defended against SA and still beat them, wat den do u want .....is SA a baby football nation? This is not 90's where u run over them with the likes of okocha,rashidi,amokachi....bro wake up whay we have now is what rohr utilized to grind out results

Why do people keep hyping some unnecessary football facts that's not working for Nigeria....for God sake what all this "timely sub" was the positive yen yen yen that use to sweet some of u sef....abeg how did the timely sub affect the game...to me going forward if a coach is doing fine, pls there are some real issue/area we should criticize him, not all this irrelevant argument, na so we do sack the one that was doing late sub and employed the tiki-taka/timely sub man that could not qualify us for comon q/final of afcon....so far so good we have lost the glory days of sexy/creative midfield(okocha, kanu, mikel, oruma etc) let us pick up another pattern that suits the present super eagle's i.e defend(esp against top teams), counter,flank-dribble) keep these guys long on the pitch to play if they are not tired even if it's to 75th or 80th mins(it is not the best formation but it worked largely for the present super eagle's from 2017-2021)....

we got fooled with that win against Egypt, and a 100% group record, to retain AE, now it seems we are in for it, a Jose Peseiro would had make good use of those players, if he had been appointed,

anyways let's see what the return leg had in store
Brother it's a very big lie passero can't do anything more than what AE did yesterday..you all are just shouting tactics tactics clueless clueless blah blah blah.. if you like hire a guardiola to coach us.
A GhanaNigerian game does not respect tactics and technicality..
It is a fight to finish type of football... I wonder how guys in this forum are expecting to just go to Kumasi and run over the ghanaians in the name of brilliant tactics and or tactical or technical coaching crew..... We fired a local coach in 2008 and hired a foreign tactician to take us to the afcon, what did we still get against Ghana? Correct beating even with our professional EPL boys... We still hired back a local coach in 2010 and still got beatn by the same ghanaians.... Even our legendary Stephen keshi still got his share of ghanaians rigidity and ruggedness and stubbornness on the pitch at the chan 2014... even those games that played in our favour that had us beating the ghanaians in 2002 and 2006 e t c they still fought bloodily and stubbornly.
Let's just rally round our boys in the next fixtures and play our 9JA pttern of football and beat our chest that we can win them.... Make un a forget all the tatics and formation banter ghanaians wil use their agbaro style to scatter everything

Are you ok Sir? Is saving a penalty any of the top criteria for judging a goalkeeper? Can a good goalkeeper not get better? The fact that he made those saves in the 2010/2014 world cup doesn't make him any less good prior. He just got better and better with age. Enyeama aged well, unlike most of those that came before him.
I guess you are not okay!.. Enyeama was not at his commanding best at the 2004 afcon... His poor penalty reading was a testament to that..he came back better and more experienced in 2006... So we are asking you all to allow okoye command respect and gradually impose his presence so as to age well with super eagles

One problem we had was that these our new set of young goalkeepers had no one to understudy.
We had the likes of ike shorunmu understudying Peter Rufai before staking a claim as the number one
Enyeama understudying ike shorunmu before staking a claim as the number one GK
Austin ejide and Aiyenugba always working hand-in-hand with enyeama..
The likes of okoye and uzoho do not have the privilege of understudying any of our goalkeeper legend on their active field duty.. the more reason we should give both of them chance to keep improving

That's a lie we started enjoying enyeama from get-go, his 2002 World Cup debut against England still lives fresh in our memories. The home based goalkeeper up against all mighty three lion squad. I remember the save he made from a Paul scholes shot. That experience at the World Cup literarily transformed him, he became Enyimba's top goalie leading them to back to back CAF glory. His weakness was his penalty deficiencies which he improved on subsequently at the AFCON where he saved two penalties against Tunisia. In the World Cup match against Argentina at 2010 and 2014 he was arguably the man of the match. Messi walked up to him to shake hands.
Bros in afcon 2004 Enyeama we saw was a bit of an upgraded version of shaky okoye... The penalty shootout against Tunisian he made so many wrong reading and wrong move towards penalty direction... but he came back better stronger and more experienced against the same Tunisia in 2006... From there he announced his goalkeeping masterclass to the world... We saw him replicate same penalty shootout against Zambia.. we saw him replicate brilliant saves against Messi in 2010 2014... We saw him leading Nigeria to the African glory in 2013...
so to me we started enjoying eyeama from African 2006

Enyeama let in goals. Also made crucial saves. Okoye only does one part of the equation:let's in goals, makes no crucial saves
Bros you lie then... Okoye also made some crucial saves..
He made a one-on-one save against Mohamed salah which would have equalised the game
he made another brilliant stop against Tunisia after his first error.... And so many saves I can't remember
So please chill and let's give him time to blend
