I totally disagree with the notion of brilliant play not sinking down with Nigerian fans. Maybe the new age fans but historically, we are known for playing good football.

When you think of players like Mobi Oparakwu, Celestine Babayaro, Finidi George, Sunday Oliseh, Kanu Nwankwo, Jay Jay Okocha in a starting eleven. These players played with intelligence and flair. We for a long time played with intelligence and bravery. Sometimes I wonder how this negative play crept into our football.

The likes of Taribo, Finidi, Peter Rufai for instance played under a master possession tactician at young age and the Sharks Stadium then used to be jam packed with thrilled fans.

I actually think it played out with the Coach of the Aussies reading the game plan of France and attacking it. However, a switch in tactics and also loss of stamina played a part in the dismantling. The Aussies did not just play but we're better in tactics and strategy.

The point is that an Underdog can pull up a good show and even beat top teams.

All these things some of you are praising Rohr for,making him look like some sort of genius were accomplished by many previous coaches before him... Keshi and Amodu achieved all that...they were still sacked.. Berti Vogts had a good CV before he was appointed our coach,but after the shambolic display at the AFCON,he was fired...
What's so special about Rohr? If he is that good,why is he yet to get another coaching job?

rohr qualified with ease in a group that included Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia in his early years. This same rohr had to grind out results and dragged third round qualification to the last day against teams like cabo Verde, Liberia and central African republic. If not that you are mischievous you would clearly notice the massive decline in the quality of our football. It's shocking that after witnessing rohr's last days we will still be wishing he was not sacked whenever we lose a game. Omo you no try at all oo.

with the way we were playing under rohr during the 2022 wc qualifiers, it seemed as if the man wanted to return us to where he met us. I can't believe there are still people around who will clamour for rohr's return. Even if jp is sacked any time soon rohr should never be called again.

Gernot Rohr had Mikel, Onazi, Etebo in midfield. Mikel left, Onazi battled injuries.
Our games saw it's gravest decline when Etebo is either not in the squad or is not starting.
