komekn:Home support has only worked for 2teams for the past 11Afcon Editions and those teams are North African teams(Egypt/Tunisia) this time around whether u be home team oh, if you jam team wey crase them go beat you in front of your president |
andrewbaba44:Bros omeruo is around 10yrs with super eagles now and still playing with agility, no mumu mumu injury worries(something peculiar with age cheating) one of the 2players currently to have representated Nigeria in 2world cups effectively and still looking young |
Apart from SA and Zambia this is one of the most complete Afcon, all past winners present all African giant president and also with the introduction of some newbies giant killers comoros, Sierra Leone, Gambia...let the game begin |
JohnBullMySon:Omeruo was one of those that used his real age at the 2009 U17 world cup, that's why he is still lasting and strong for about 13yrs now in the colors of Nigeria another real small boy spotted at the U17 world cup was chidera Eze, during the 2013 WC, e pain me that boy no translate into super eagles Omeruo is one quiet personality in the eagles fold otherwise he should be a commanding captain in the eagles of today |
In Afcon 2000 Nigeria/Cameroon/Tunisia sailed to the semifinals(towards the end of our golden era) In Afcon 2002 Nigeria/Cameroon/Senegal/Mali sailed to the Semifinals (Final competition to most of our 94 all conquering squad) In 2004 Nigeria met Cameroon and eventually edging them to progress to the Semifinals (having new Assemblage of eagles with few veteran) Nigeria/Morocco/Tunisia/Mali In 2006 Nigeria/CIV/Senegal/Egypt sailed to the Semifinals after the later edged Cameroon in the quarterfinals (The start of the Egyptian invincibility) In 2008 a shocking outster, Nigeria fail to progress to last four after Ghana edging to in the quarterfinals, having Egypt/Cameroon/CIV/Gha sailing to the last four In 2010 Nigeria/Ghana/Egypt/Algeria progress to the last 4 (Algeria raising eyebrows of African gigantism) In 2012 Nigeria failed to qualify, having CiV/Zambia/Mali/Ghana In 2013 Nigeria/Ghana/Burkina/Mali sailed to the last 4 In 2015 Nigeria didn't qualify, CIV/Ghana/DRC/E-guinea sailed to the Semifinals In 2017 Nigeria didn't qualify Cameroon/Egypt/Ghana/Burkina sailed to the last 4 (end to 16 nation tourney) In 2019 Nigeria came back and advanced to last for alongside Algeria/Senegal/Tunisia (Beginning of 24nations tourney) This chart shows Nigeria are the king of top 4 no matter who is picked to play, you see that top 4 we go reach am, others can follow |
Watching the replay of Nig/Tun in the last edition of Afcon, I must say Samuel Kalu is another player with accurate set piece taking...twice on target and accurate |
Nig 2-0 Coton sport Chukwueze scores |
Fun fact 1. The last time Egypt/Nigeria opened a group phase match against Egypt, the eagles lost 3-1 to Egypt with Ogbuke(obasi) scoring Nigeria's only goal 2. The last time Nigeria opened a group phase match against Carlos Quieros the Egyptian current coach it ended 0-0, when he was managing Iran @ d 2014 FIFA WC Predict your the Nigerian - Egypt game slated for Tuesday |
If other big guns of Africa don't step up, Algeria will bully their way to retain the cup....those guys are smoking hot ![]() |
Subzero047: |
Subzero047:This is just d plain truth, that Watford really disrespecting afcon big time, mane and Mendy are both on same private jet headed to link up with team mate now, Watford should get lost!, There is no way they will escape that relegation...ndi ala |
Most teams are complete in their camp or better still moving to Cameroon already, while 9ja is still counting 13players out of 28 possibility....mad ooo |
If other african Giants like Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, CiV, Senegal no sit up, Algeria is ready to do Egypt thing from 2006-2010 |
Ppogbae:Qatar and Saudi Arabia are the only Serious ball playing nations in that tournament, the rest are ekuke |
CODMOK:And he is the last coach to beat Ghana in a competitive game Afcon 2006( Taiye Taiwo screamer) |

Still on Adepoju Tobi First meeting was held yesterday night between the NFF Executive Members, Technical Committee & Technical Department. Opinions divided. Some suggested Gernot Rohr sack before the AFCON. The meeting considered the implication of the decision to sack him, hence divided opinions. According to the clause in his contract he hasn't defaulted, playing 'Good Football' isn't part of the clause Clause in his new contract - Win the AFCON or get to the final. - Secure the World Cup ticket in March. To sack Rohr, NFF will have to pay him off in millions. The meeting agreed they don't have the money to pay him off including paying some of his outstanding salaries (Which is about four months). However, NFF are considering options apart from sacking. The free-hand Rohr has gotten might be cut off. Questioning, query & venting of his list might be introduced. Rohr has worked in Nigeria since 2016 having 100% control of his team without any interference. The discussion will continue with the Executives, looking at the best options considering their financial challenges. Rohr has to work with the Technical Committee/Department, take suggestions & more. Listen to advice on how to improve the team. The NFF won't go back to the old days of forcing ideas on the coach, but they want a system that will checkmate & ensure the performance improves. According to my source, if they can meet up with the financial implication to pay him off and get a better replacement in the next few days, his contract will be terminated. Who will replace Rohr? NFF doesn't have options right now, domestic coaches are not in the conversation. |
According to Adepoju tobi NFF Executive Members have suggested the sack of Gernot Rohr before the AFCON in January. The Executives will meet with the Technical Committee/Department to weigh their options. The body language of the NFF to sack Rohr is very strong this time. adepoju tobi |
