Jennifer89: how much is the fees for the expensive creche? It's not just the amount, but some qualities a professional creche should possess. Most times the amount can be attributed to the location. |

ladyverere: She is 7 months old. My baby goes to an expensive creche. Really swanky. I really do not av any compliant. She is well fed and cared for. And I av never taken her to d hospital for any infection she started 4 months ago. Thank d Lord. @ Miraclemom. I remembered when I was transfered to Asaba briefly a month ago. A friend suggested d creche she used thr for her kids. I made d mistake of just relying on her word and used dem. 2 days later I came to d creche unexpectedly and d smell of adult urine hit me square in d face as I entered d play room. To my horror d toilet d nannies used was right thr inside d play room, unflushed and stinking like a universtity hostel toilet! I went crazy and dat vry minute withdrew my baby frm dat horrible creche. I was so angry I would av done sth terrible had I not been held back. So sometimes, cheap creche doesn't always mean good. So moms pls b careful. Unbelievable!!! Adult rest room inside a creche. God save our los |

ladyverere: @Miraclemum. Not all cjeap diapers leak. Nigerian pampers is d only I av used dat leaks and causes rash. I av never repeated it again. Drylove, st. Charles and princes and princesses r cheap bt neither leak nor cause rash. D creche use 3 diapers btw 8am - 4pm. Huggies don't soak easily and @ 10k for each carton for a couple of months I figure its way to expensive. Of cos we r all different wt d siezes of our paychecks. There's a difference between cheap and good & affordable diaper. |

shndy: TX for the advice, I understand you. Of cos if its used on my baby I. Won't mind, just the various stories ppl tell about nannies. Ur baby uses 3 diapers at the creche everyday? People will always have things to say. As long as it's used on my baby - it's never a waste. Just ensure the nannies are trained. Av learnt a lot about nannies and creche since my LO started, right now my friends are withdrawing their lo's from their creche to enrol in my baby's creche. At first, they complained that my baby's creche was too expensive and they took their lo's to a less expensive creche, after 2 weeks they were spending money in hospitals treating one viral ailment to the other. Nothing is a waste for my daughter. After all am working for her, so she should have the best while I can have my mind at rest and concentrate on the work. |

NoQualms1: lol. I had to stop wipes totally when nappy rash didn't allow us to rest even after changing from one brand to several others. I now use water jejely. As for diapers, I still prefer huggies, Nigeria Pampers is BS, Pampers Premium is on the same level with huggies. I only use Nigerian Pampers when I go out and forget to take diapers along. It's safer than most.
@nggie, I believe the palm kernel oil will clear it, just be patient. It's pampers premium the same thing as pampers premium care? |
Health › Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by MiracleMum(f): 7:38pm On Jun 24, 2015 |
shndy: I use pampers swaddlers too, was told nannies waste diapers at d creche, that's y am in search of cheape dt cn b in his creche bag. I'll just stick to the swaddlers dn n gv them stern warning. It's not a waste as long as it's still used on your baby and the nanny isnt taking it homey. If you warn them about it, this is what will happen - your baby will be wet and uncomfortable, they won't change the diaper. That can lead to serious nappy rash. If you also do "ijebu" and buy cheap diaper, it will leak after every pee or poo. Ma'm it's your baby, use a good affordable diaper. My daughter uses 3 diapers daily at the creche. I drop her 9am and pick her up by 4pm. Don't warn nanny oh, be nice so they can be nice to your child when you are not there. |

Ezeanna: Hello mamas, hope u and your LOs are all doing great. May God continue to strengthen you. Pls o, my working mothers, for a mother that goes to work from 7am to 6pm, what can I do abt my breastmilk? Should I buy breast pump and express in a bottle while at work to relieve the engorgement? Will it be okay for my baby when I get home?
Pls, any advice on what to do would be welcome. My baby will be three months old soon. If the baby will be with you at work, then there's no use expressing as you would need it to feed your baby. But if your baby will be with a trusted adult, then you can express for your baby while you are away. |

Hello Tchiwinnie and other mamas that encouraged me when i was disturbed about my daughter's neck control. Here's an update! Her head is no longer wobbly!!! She has a pretty good head control while sitting supported, though she's lazy in holding her head and chest upright while lying on her stomach during tummy time. |

udoka2: @miraclemum my sister..nothing is actually wrong with it but l will not used it on a baby less than 1 year. little drop into water, made my baby cough uncontrollably and l am not the only person with that experience for a younger child, it didnt just happen onces, even with moderated drops. Anyway we may have dropped more than necessary. I will prefer sheabutter and mentholatum to it any day for babies and nasal drops. but that will not clear nasal congestion. my baby didnt inhale it directly though, i just allowed the vapour to fill the bathroom while bathing her. |

udoka2: @Chelsea nasal drop works well for the blocked nose ask ur plead if you can use it at 5 months. was prescribed for my son with piriton; both gave good result. home ready is to massage sheabutter on her nose and use menthol to massage his body. I will advise against silverbird; that thing is too powerful: I had nasty experience using it when my baby was younger.
on lemon; I don't think its bad for the womb. its even recommended for those TTC to produce quality ewcm There's nothing wrong with silverbird if used properly. A drop into hot water and inhaled is not harmful. Except you used the water to bathe your baby or you dropped the silverbird directly on your baby's skin, that is harmful. |

beedam: I put half into his feeding bottle, cover the remaining and refrigerate
I spoon feed him. It takes time though but I'm always patient since I know he is still a baby. Once I see he is tired of spoon feeding, I added milk to it and bottle feed him
I don't add milk to only the cocktail if he is tired of spoon feeding it. Just little warm water and bottle feed.
NB:once opened, must be used in 48 hrs. Ok, thanks so much. |

beedam: My charming prince eats a lot so I had to introduce cereal @ four months. I want to wait till six months or later before I give him pap. He ate 9 tins of Nan+ breastmilk @ 3 months. They complain of him not getting filled on time in creche. But now, with the introduction of the cereal everything is okay. There are cereal made for four months old babies so why is it a no no? Their reason is that the baby's digestive system is not strong enough to digest cereal at 4 months. I was looking at introducing it to my DD when she's 4month to be taking at the creche instead of expressed BM cos I have fears that they may not be handling the expressed BM well. |

NoQualms1: Thanks mama.
I'm still waiting for answers to this. My baby's cough and catarrh has not stopped even though she's been taking the medicine that was given to her at the hospital for more than 3 days now. Mamas, any idea? for catarrh, I used a drop of silver bird in a bucket of hot water then sat down with her in the bathroom while the vapour filled the air. some people use blanket to cover themselves so the baby can inhale the vapour directly but I felt the vapour was too strong and as such did it my way. that really helped to reduce my baby's catarrh. We were given antibiotics for cough but I stopped it when it started making her uncomfortable, she was showing signs of abdominal discomfort, vomiting and restlessness. She's still coughing while the catarrh has cleared. |

pam09: Good evening house. Please I need urgent assistance. My Lo is two weeks old today. We started off with formula because my breast wouldn't flow. Then around Friday we started breastfeeding but not eliminating the formula completely. Before now,I had wanted to do EBF so by Wednesday I stopped the formula completely. Now the issue is that my baby seems not satisfied with the breastmilk. She suckles for more than three hours non stop both night and day and when you try to take her mouth of the breast, she starts crying. Unlike when she was on formula she doesn't sleep like so long anymore. Am confused, I don't know if to continue with EBF or go back to formula. I ve tried so much to boost my breastmilk, I take plenty of fluid, eat everything I can lay my hands on. Please has anyone experienced this before. I need your advice on the way forward so I don't fall into depression cos I don't find it easy breastfeeding for up to 3uninterrupted hours. You're strong oh. Breastfeeding for 3 hours (thumbs up). Why not express so you can see if you're lactating very well. It's possible your Lo isn't getting enough milk. I observed it's not just about eating anything that makes breast milk to flow but eating them real hot. Be strong! |

joyousf: I think your baby is fine. Babies are different and achieve milestones at their own pace not by all these record time keepers. So far he/she has some level of control at 3 months, I think it's okay. As they grow older the neck will be firmer between 4-5 months. I don't think a 3 months old baby can have it all together perfectly. Thanks ma'm. Hopefully her neck will be firm before she's 4 month. She just clocked 3 yesterday. |
