No slap am o a beg, lol. Was it thick? Don't feel frustrated sis, those sweeties' cn be funny. U can try again with just little feed, den u cn gradually increase it.
About not eating, my baby does dt too at times but he eats well at the creche, ppl said it's cos he knows he's with his mother
It wasnt thick oh. She eats at the creche as i was told, but with me - it's a no no. she just wants to play with every part of my body then when she is sleepy she'd just take little breastmilk and doze off.

Apple, pear, plum, avocado, banana.
For apple, pear and plum, peel, remove seed , cut into small pieces and steam (little water in a pan and reduce heat) till soft. U can mash or puree.
Banana and avocado doesn't need to be cooked. Just peel banana, cut and mash/puree.
*Slice avocado from side to side, remove d seed and scoop out d flesh, mash/puree
I made the banana puree yesterday and fed my daughter. she collected it but vomitted everything almost immediately. Chai, i felt like slapping her. She's not been eating for some weeks, holds food in her mouth like forever and when she finally swallows it - she will refuse to open her mouth for another feed. the thing don tire me

@ Mamacajah Please drop your recipe for mashed potatoes or do you use the one you described earlier (recipe from a friend).
I have pasted one below that i intend to try out but i have issues with the boldened part. Dont know how it will be preserved after adding formula. Mama's that know better, please put me through. Thank you.

How to make Potato Puree:
Ingredients:
Potato - 1 medium size (fresh & white variety)
Formula Milk Powder - 1 scoop ( I use lactogen )
Water - 3 to 4 tblspn + for boiling potatoes

Method:
Take a firm, fresh, white potato. Peel it and cube them. Wash it well in cold water.

Add it to a sauce pan, cover it with clean water. Put it on stove and bring it to boil.

Simmer the flame and cook till the potatoes are tender. This will take around 15 mins.

Now drain it and put it in a bowl. Mash it up in a mortar or blender.

Now to make the puree creamy, make some formula milk. Dissolve some formula milk powder which you are using for your baby in some warm water. Pour this over the mashed potato and mash it more to make it creamy.

Transfer this to a bowl and feed your baby with a spoon.

I use president or oldenberg..any foreign butter sold in the supermarkets is fine. Someone also taught me her method. Get carrots, sweet pea, fish (titus) and potatoes. Boil the carrots, peas and potatoes together. boil fish seperate, de-bone and mash. once boiled, put the potato mixture into a blender, add the mashed fish, a little water and blend. It produces a smooth nutrious pudding.
Keep in freezer. when you want to warm, dethraw the food, either use microwave or put a little president butter on the frying pan and add the food for warming. Tastes delicious.

I also followed the advice here, bought basmati rice, boiled it, grinded it into rice pudding.
Then I served it with either milk or my special stew sauce.
Stew sauce: buy tomatoes, onions, pepper (shonbo-non peppery), beef, chicken and fish.
Boiled all the meat and fish. debone and mash fish, meat. For the meat, I used my salad grater to grate the beef and chicken. Blend the tomatoes ingredients. Put on fire to boil with a little oil. when cooked, add the mashed meat/fish, including little salt to taste and mix. Voila -tomatoes sauce with mashed mixed meat.

Its not been easy trying all the recipes I get here becos I work all week, take her with me for office creche and can't stop at the market on the way home lipsrsealed but I now a system of cooking her meals on Saturday for the week, freezing it and bring it out when I need it. Thank GOD for improved light situation. grin
Thank you so much, this will surely help. am really grateful.

I give my baby 3-4 scoops of formula to his cereal at every feed. He eats 2-3 times before I pick him up by 4, from dt 4pm till 7am that I drop him off the following day he's on breastmilk alone.
Is he well covered or Do I need to give him extra formula?
I asked my daughter's paed same question and she said as long as my baby sucks well from 4pm, through the night and in the morning - she is getting enough milk. But if am not still ok with that, i should schedule her meal time when she's not with me like this: cereal and formula, formula alone, cereal and formula, formula alone and it should be rotated like that till pick up.

Yet to see a difference between PEP and Mr Price grin Both are low-cost shops and the size of their clothes are not standard baby clothing size. I couldn't even get varieties, went to the shop on Allen and Berger. But there's a Dubai shop in Ikeja city mall that sells baby clothes, they have lovely clothes that are affordable (dubai tinz grin). Though am yet to buy from them (na window shopping i go do there).

***Modified*** I love to shop because i like to look good and i want same for my daughter. looking good no mean say the clothes must be pricey but most importantly the clothes shouldn't be tacky.

Pls any1 with d idea of wear i can buy children wears in lagos island for my four months baby
If you shop at PEP, just have in mind the clothes wont last. It will wash out even before baby out-grows them. You can get house clothes from them and get outing clothes from Balogun market since you're on the Island. ( I buy soft trousers my daughter wears in the creche from PEP at 500 naira each, its a good bargain for house clothes).
Just walk close to UBA (Balogun market) you will see ladies holding complimentary cards for baby clothes shop - cajole one to direct you and don't allow her take you there herself because the shop owner will add an amount to everything you buy to settle the lady latter. There you get to see varieties of classy quality clothes.

@miracle mum, I suggest wht ever fruits u want to puree for ur lo shld b tried n out as snack first to c how much she likes it b4 pureeing. it can b really painful after all d stress and she decides its play time instead of eating. my baby prefers fruits as snack. he can finish a whole mashed avocado without milk. he prefers banana pureed and he takes apple like snack. infact his every day snacks are apple nd watermelon. its d red apple because its softer so he uses his gums to bite on it. im usually careful so he doesnt get to bite a big chunk in order not to get choked. For the water melon, i use my hands to squeeze the juice in his mouth and i put the mashed fruit in his mouth after. i do this everyday whn i get back from school by 6pm. its a routine. whenever I feel its time to get messy, I give avocado just for the fun of it nd he enjoys it cos he has d opportunity to feed his head nd nose with it so they dnt feel left out. I gv oranges too like every 2days nd no it doesnt purge my lo. I also gv plum fruits. he sucks on it. I personally prefer to gv fruits as snacks cos it saves time nd they can take it whnever u r taking it. besides fruit puree no dey belleful by lo. whn amala nd ewedu dey there. mashed potatoes with butter, crayfish nd titus fish. may God bless our los and crown our efforts
Thanks so much. I will try both and see which she prefers. I pray it's the purée. Lol

Except if pastor Chris is not a Naija man, the best thing is to quickly marry a fine young girl in his church and forget this one. What type of abuse is she talking about that she cannot resolve iwith the husband . She's a big time loser and that's what she'll always be, she can't pull down a successful man.

when you are married to a big time pastor like this you ought to know some things in the family must give way. the pastors had provided everything money can buy for you even in faraway UK. You got fame, power and respect even like a presidents wife yet greed and unexplained jealousy took hold of her. As a virtuous woman which she ought to be she should have been able to deal with any situation.
Look at Hilary Clinton in the height of international shame how she dealt with the Monika Lewinsky saga, that's how real wives act in times of issues and not behaving like those who never known Christ before. I clearly shows that she was never the real person writing call those articles on Rhapsody.

This Anita must be an agent trying to pulldown a big ministry. She had planned this evil plot long ago thinking it will make her popular to start her own ministry to teach women how to leave their marriages.

Pastor Chris should collect his children from her and remarry asap no second chance to allow her back. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
This bros dey take am personal oh. Abeg calm down jor - why the beef?

You are funny, I know how you feel. Pele.

My baby is 9 months and also refused to be spoon fed. Mine will even collect the spoon from me and throw it on the floor or hold it tight.

Some people say the only disadvantage is that the baby will suck feeder up to 2 years.
Dont know whether it's true.
My daughter's caregiver said the same thing because she spoon feeds her cereal and she collects it well while i bottle feed her cereal because i feel spoon feeding is slow and a lot of work and i want the feeding to be fast so i can move on to something else.

Yes it dries the skin as its working, you may want to mix it with ori. but after sometime the skin becomes clear.

Thanks for the response. Let me just be a little patient. My tummy went from really flat to really big during pregnancy baby was 4.5kg
Relax, it took 9 months for that tummy to grow big so don't expect it to go down like magic. Give it time, eat right, and breastfeed often. And don't think it's big because of C.S, even those who do vaginal birth still have big tummies. Since you're resuming work, shop for peplum tops and gowns, make sure they're not too fitted. If the stitch is properly healed, get a tummy trimmer (looks like a high waist tight). I did all these and I now have an amazing body. Those who saw me at my baby's naming ceremony keep asking what I did to the big tummy.

@desiree, my baby is 8+ mths and not 3mths. Because I care about her well being, thats' why I asked these questions. I really don't like your tone especially at the bolded words. If you want to advise, please do it nicely and have all your facts before jumping in. Remember all babies do not react the same. What works for some may not work for another, so please do not generalise.

See extracts from the internet on feeding babies with beans.

" Tips for Preparing Beans: Beans are a major source carbohydrates, protein and fiber. They are filled with important nutrients including iron, calcium, B vitamins and fiber that help nourish your baby's growing body. They can be mashed or pureed, or an older baby can enjoy them in their whole form. Unless your child has a bean or legume allergy, all beans are safe for babies to eat. Beans can be hard to digest, however, so don't introduce them too early. Because beans can be hard for the body to digest, introduce them once your baby's digestive system has been able to develop adequately, such as around 8 months. [http://www.livestrong.com/article/554505-what-kind-of-beans-are-good-for-babies/]

Can I Give My Baby Beans? Answer: From 8-10 Months
Since beans are high in proteins, it is recommended to be served to children between eight and ten months of age. At this age, your child’s digestive system has had time to mature, making it easier to accept new foods. By ten months, your child should also be able to sit with support and has probably mastered finger foods. Beans are known to cause gas, and because of this, may be hard for a younger baby’s digestive system to break down. Beans are usually also very small, and can easily be lodged in your child’s throat, causing him or her to choke. [http://canigivemybaby.com/beans/]
Its obvious she didnt know your baby is 8+. Its good you cleared that aspect, in forums like this information isnt only for one person as several others like myself are busy screen grabbing information for use.
Now imagine a FTM here that doesnt know your baby's age, sees the beans recommendation then go feed her 2 or 3 months old beans.
No vex desiree thinks say your baby is 3 months.
