I guess the potty is the usual seat potty. Get a car potty or something else you know your baby will like. My girl's potty is a car, most times she sits and ride the car then poos while riding. I have to force her out of the potty after pooing, she's 11 months old. Before i bought the car potty, i tried the chair potty and she screamed.

Girls generally are like that, even you were like that. Thats the reason we always crave for attention. Your baby crying is even fair, mine will bend her lips to one side like a doll and cry. when i ignore her, she will start speaking in tongues and her voice is so loud. This morning, i was pooing when she cried and crawled into the restroom, crawled to me - held my legs and stood up, then started playing immediately. The dad walked in and started raking why i was allowing his DD inhale my "thing." Na my fault say the babe dey gum me like chewing gum?

My sister's son detest ogi so much too, so she gave him birds custard at 4 months and later changed to hollandia custard - the bobo is taking it so well along with breastmilk and looking chubbier than my girl taking pap.

thanks for your response, the baby was treated at national hospital Abuja, after the test , it was still high but they told her not to worry as long as the baby had been treated with the light bulb. My worry is that hope the baby wont have any defect.

National Hospital is one of the best in Abuja. Since baby has been in light, she can do the sunning just to be on the safe side. But for the hospital to tell her not to be worried, that means the jaundice is cleared.

hello mamas in the house, please I need suggestions from any one who gave birth to. a premature baby or one who's baby was diagnosed of jaundice. my little nephew was born premature and had jaundice, though the jaundice was treated with the light bulb stuff but after a few weeks, when they went for check up, they discovered jaundice is still in the baby though the usual jundice body discolouration is no longer there again. the mother was told at the hospital not to be worried as far as he has been treated of jaundice before. pls is there any health or mental implications? and why is the jaundice still high even after treatment.

After Phototherapy, the hospital should have done another test to know the level of jaundice before discharging baby.
My daughter was in the light for 3 days after which they ran a test and i was told if the result of the test shows the jaundice is still high we wont be discharged because my baby will require blood transfusion. The jaundice was low when the result came out and we were discharged. Your nephews case may be different since he's preterm.
If your sis is not comfortable with her present hospital she should quickly seek the opinion of another hospital.
If she's in Lagos, she can try Lifeline childrens hospital in Lekki or Surulere, they handle preterm babies well there.

Same here. I tried friso gold and nutriben 8 cereals and 4 fruits, my girl is taking them well.

No special reason ma just that my lo does not take her formula and cereal at Free will unless you force her but will cry after an adult taking tea. It you put a drop of the tea in her mouth, she will lick and will want to eat the spoon as well I was just assuming that she like it and I just want to know if it's ok for her age. Thanks ma

She likes it because of the sugar in it, not because of the beverage itself.

Hello great great mama's, please come to my aid. I never in my widest dream thought I will be in this situation even when this has been discussed severally here. My baby just clocked 6months. She's been on Exculsive breastmilk. While on EBF, I usually express whenever I wasn't home and she was been bottle fed. Even when we go out, we bottlefeed her with breastmilk and there's been no issue. But recently I noticed each time we try to bottle feed her with the breastmilk, she rather plays with the bottle teet or useses it to scratch her gum. I didn't see that as abigdeal anyway cosshe still ends up drinking it though it takes longer. Now she's on Enfamil and it's been war. Initially she will play with the teet and drink and play again. But nowshe doesn't even want. The moment I bring the bottle to her mouth, she starts pulling back. Initially I tried spoon, she took it but now bothe spoon and bottle is war. I've tried the ready to feed Enfamil and the powdered Enfamil, im tired. Though it's been two days we started ds journey. My husband has also tried to feed her samle thing. Didn't know we will have this issue cos she took the breastmilk well with the bottle. And prior to now she usually tries to eat our food whenever we eat. She struggles with my hand and tries to bring it to her mouth . So I knew she was ready to start on solid.
Pls mama's, what do we do. I have similac too at home, shld I try that with her, maybe it's enfamil taste she doesn't like or continue to battle with her till she accpets the bottle. Thanks all

Your baby is ready for next stage of food. try any rice cereal or pap mixed with her formula. my dd also rejected formula at 6 months. Dont expect her to finish the new food at once oh. na small small then the quantity increases.

De prince is well stocked with baby food. go to the stand close to the freezers. I buy my baby food there but make sure you dont buy Enfamil there, its very expensive but every other baby food there has good price. You can also try Mummieswanted shop by river valley gate - baby food is well stocked with good prices. you can checkout the shop online mummieswanted.com for better description.

Why not do formula instead of pap. you can alternate formula and breast milk, then eat very well - tell hubby not to complain but pump you with good food. Another thing that can make you loose weight is the stress especially if you're like me that is with the baby alone (no maid, sis or nanny). If yes then your husband has to really assist you in the house. Dont act like a superwoman, ask him politely for assistance in some domestic chores, since he wants the best for you - he will surely oblige. I personally do not subscribe to pap at 3 months. Well done!

Thanks for showing her. The smallest flask is what I use and it keeps food very hot. Maybe you got the fake oone or u didn't fill up with hot water over night.

abi, i filled it with hot water but not over night and i did same for others working well.

I use the haers stainless flask, it keeps water hot for 2 days.

Maybe that one is fake or bad production.

Did you fully immerse it in water?

The smallest flask in the image didnt keep water hot up to 2 hours but the others did for 2 days, so i just guessed its because that one is stainless and not colour coated like others. I use the food flask there, next to the stainless for her pap and it keeps it fresh and hot.

Soldier way works for stubborn little boys more than sweet babies in my family. I have used a live chicken to scare someone to screaming point just to get him to eat his food. He may need Therapy when he grows up but he finished that food that afternoon. I also threatened to hold another one under water in the bathtub if he kept annoying me.

With my daughter, if you like use syringe oh - put the drug under the tongue or by the side she will spit everything out. or hide it in her mouth then when you look away she will turn her head to the side and bring out everything. So i had to do it the "soldier way" (I know some mothers will crucify me now but its for her good and also mine). I spank her a little on her toes, once she opens her mouth to cry i quickly drop the drug and next thing she swallows it. Then i pet her. shikena

I also discovered another way to make her swallow drugs. i tickle her then while she opens her mouth to laugh i quickly drop and kpere she swallows it - mission accomplished.

Are u sure we are talking about the same flask? This one can only take like 50cl water( rough estimate) My baby uses the smallest size which I belive is ok for your baby. I'm just saying rather than expose his food like that and you don't know how they warm and with what. Just get the flask, my baby takes one homemade meal and second meal is cereal.

I use the haers flask too and it keeps my daughter's pap very hot till evening. Though i noticed the haers flask with stainless body doesnt keep food or water long but the one with green or purple coated body is good.

I disagree!!! The complexion of someone hustling cant be the same when the person is now working in a good environment and well paid. Don't forget that while hustling, the person jumps buses and bikes under the rain and sun. Then whilst with the good job, the person eats healthy, sleeps in A.C house, drives A.C car and works in A.C office. These and more can improve the person's complexion.

On a more serious note, if test is done & no malaria or infection is found, would you advise anti malaria & antibiotic,, of course she should ruuuuunnnnnn away to another hospital with competent paed.

it is likely flu or major teething induced fever.....

@Mytestimony get another opinion from a different and good hospital - make sure its a pediatrician you are seeing. Consistent high temp in a baby is a sign of something wrong.

Sunday market Ogba - from wempco road enter the second gate. the lady just after the gate on your left. They have several others that sell ogi omode (children's pap) but i have only tried this lady's own.
her name and contact is in the image attached. she pasted this on the bowl i bought. She sells for 1k and 2k, i bought the bowl of 1k for trial.
