ehizario2012: Ra***sm, tri****sm or serious discrimination is not limited to the whites alone please. It's something deep rooted in every human being, whether we like it or not. But we must make conscious efforts to water them down. For someone like me, I can't deny that I harbour serious resentment against those LG***Q nonsense as I still see them as sick people and that's classed as discrimination or even ra***sm in a way. But I've learnt to let them live their life while I live mine, we work together, eat together etc but they remain sick to me. This is not a good way to refer to another human being. There will be LGBTQ people reading this thread and we want to keep this a safe, welcoming space for all Nigerians. You never know whose insight can save you hundreds of pounds or get you into a good job. I must admit, I ve always wondered what Jesus would do if he met a gay person? We know how he reacted when he met a prostitute , a corrupt government official and a thief. Would he react differently to a gay person? |

Thank you for writing those words in full. As victims of racism , we can only gain from drawing attention to it wherever we find it. Our children wont struggle as much because of our hardwork. As to your question, i would like to perhaps throw that question open to the house? Why discriminate? Racism/tribalism is discrimination, why is it prevalent at home? This may sound like very strong words but i believe only village bush people discriminate. I used to hold those village views when i hadnt been anywhere. Having now lived all over Nigeria, i do not have a single bone of discrimination left in my body. People are people Lexusgs430: What's the difference between racism and tribalism........ 🤣😛
The amount of tribalism we inflict upon ourselves in Nigeria, cannot be quantified or justified...... Small racism we are victims of in the UK, we want to blow the house down, but shoulder tribalism in Nigeria, with our full chest............ 🤣😂😜 |

Great discussion today. I have 1 bone to pick though. I don't think we,the victims, benefit from censoring words like racism and tribalism.
It only enables the bad people to hide and continue their bad work. I would probably not write it in bold but I will certainly write it in full. Anyone it pains to be called racist should change. |

Crime › Re: Ebonyi Woman In Tears After Her Yam Barn Was Burnt To Ashes(video) by missjekyll: 7:25am On Feb 15, 2024 |
Tallesty1: I experienced something like this in the village during my secondary school days. There was this land that nobody was farming on; it was just there, and it was big. I inquired and was told that the owners no longer lived close by.
I found them and told them that I wanted to use it, and they agreed. So, I started clearing, cutting, and burning. I began farming before the first rain came (Yam farmers can relate). I also hired laborers, and we worked tirelessly there. The ground was so fertile that no fertilizer was needed, and the harvest was the talk of the town.
I harvested the yams and spent all evenings tying them on stakes in the barn.
Then, I woke up one morning, and the whole thing was burnt down overnight.
A woman informed me in the morning, she was in tears. I went there, saw it, and then returned home to get ready for school. I came back very late in the evening, and my mom gave me a bundle of cash.
From what?
Well, people who saw how hard I worked decided to eat yam that day whether it was on the menu or not. Everybody was just buying. Word spread to the next village, and they came to buy; they bought everything.
I never knew I was that loved. Thank you for this story. |

Atk1nson: Disability living seems fanciful in this country.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/disability-68178940 This is how local government should work. You understand that you are really only as 'rich' as the poorest person in your council. This idea of the welfare state has been increasingly degraded by funding cuts over the past 14 years but hopefully we can get back to this system which worked for everyone. |

When did using a phone become degrading? That may be your standard but its certainly not mine. Rolling my damn eyes. Inukwa nnu, phone and degrading. Hian loveneverfails: Funny you, I won't insult you. What if I told you that this phone was locked to a UK network but unlocked to work in Nigeria? You said it as if no human in the UK should degrade himself by using a Gionee. Are you still shocked? And how do you explain this factory wallpaper that can't be deleted? This is an original Gionee phone, I don't have to lie to make a sale. |

loveneverfails: .
Please get out of my thread, you uncultured being. Let me ask you a simple question to expose your mentality; can you also bet your life that no Nigerian ever migrated to the UK with a Gionee phone in his possession? Not even 1? Go to carousel, a Canadian website, if you find Gionee there posted for sale by Canadians, just ask the Lord for wisdom. If someone goes to the UK with it, that's hardly UK used,is it? You can sell whatever you like, but don't lie to do so |

terrafella: Learn to mind your business, I have used Gionee phones in the past. You seem to be a toxic person, and a typical man hating feminist. Why should you even bad-mouth someone's item for sale? Exposes your character. I just want to confirm if it's 4GB RAM it's not your money. Dude, I m trying to save you some money here.why would I do that if I was a man hater. I am 100% feminist though. Absolutely nothing wrong with Gionee but to market it as UK used is untrue. |

I just pray these happiness last till February 14 so that they would be able to spend on us on Valentine’s Day.
Because I really need to upgrade my iPhone 13 to 15 and I also need a car, that’s all.
Biko, Nigerian men, you guys should continue to be happy. I destroy any obstacle that will spoil your happiness IJN!! Amen!!
Thank you!! This is embarrassing. I had thought you were a feminist. Feminists do accept gifts but that's all they are, gifts. We can usually buy anything we want without depending on gifts . Why not Buy your own car? |

ReesheesuKnack: Will the Labour Party increase it if when they take over power in 2025? I certainly hope they do. At the moment, our population is increasing nicely due to immigration but that is not a sustainable policy. We need to encourage childbirth too. Otherwise, the whole structure of the welfare state will collapse and none of the millennials will ever receive a pension. Its already being noised about that pension age might be increased to 71. Pensions depend on having sufficient people of working age. |

dupyshoo: The government's policy requires the person to be working for the company 41 weeks before the EDD to be entitled to statutory maternity pay (SMP). SMP is 90% of your average weekly earnings (before tax) for the first 6 weeks and then £172.48 or 90% of your average weekly earnings (whichever is lower) for the next 33 weeks. However, some generous employers pay more than this. Some employers pay full salary for 6-9 months. She should check the company's maternity policy. Gosh , 170 wetin? Vanishingly small .No wonder ,children are like hens teeth here. Very scarce. I will put even more respect on pregnant women's names because its a huge sacrifice. |

lavida001: Doorknocking ke wey I get shift Lol. You don't have to. I ve gone doorknocking during the day and gone on to nights the same day. I was that excited about the candidate. She won so was worth it. The labour party is in the final stages of finalising its manifesto. In the UK , manifestos are taken very seriously. They are immutable and if a government does something that is not in the manifesto without calling another election, they become very very unpopular. You can find the barebones of labour policies here https://labourlist.org/2023/10/labour-national-policy-forum-final-document-summary-policy-manifesto-party-conference/ |
