bigtt76: Hmmm ...thank you for this explanation ...so they only reduced the NI to enable access it via tax and put in another pool for their spending on other things and shoook us £2 in return ....we no go gree
No gree o this 2024. Its them vs the people. I pity anyone canvassing for them.it won't be easy.

Lol. You must have picked up new friends or new habits that's why. They sound like lovely people. Please go , explain that its not anything they have done, you are just busier now but always happy to see them. Invite them to your house too.
Chibrownz: In the realm of extraordinary stories, one man stands out a man who has defied the natural rhythm of sleep for nearly half a century. Meet Paul Kern, the unyielding spirit who hasn’t slept a wink since 1973.
It’s a story that sounds like a plot from a science fiction movie, but Paul’s wakeful journey is as real as it gets. Back in the early ’70s, an unfortunate accident during a surgery left Paul in a state where the need for sleep seemed to vanish from his life.
bigtt76: With the changes in the National Insurance percentage, would monthly take home increase or decrease? Checked on the HMRC app and they are saying it would be higher from April 2023 to 6th January 2024 due to the changes taking effect from January 2024. Not sure what they meant
Your NI has come down slightly however because your food bills, energy bills , rent, mortgage has gone up and also because your personal tax free allowance has remained the same(fiscal drag) , You will see ZERO increase in take-home. In effect they took £10 and gave back £2.
We all need to register to vote and vote strategically to get this dogs dinner of a government out.
Jamesclooney: It’s a legit document. I don’t need to check any website. Here’s a redacted version of the sample. I’ve confirmed from ex-colleagues in Canada, this is what they use.
But this font is cartoonish. I m happy they accepted it. Must have had a good laugh at our expense.
Veejay123: It was mixed feelings today at Christ Chosen Tabernacle, as Servant Victor David, a one time Ragae Musician by the stage name, Dr Hammer of the "Old Mama Youngy fame", who is now a servant My of God with the auntion for deliverance, tendered his resignation letter to Church council.
He said it has been a joyous and glamorous moment ever since he started ministering from the time the ministry was founded in year 2011.
He said it was an opportunity for him and his family and will like to use this opportunity to appreciate everyone one of them who had been there physically, spiritually, Financially and morally for him and his family while he was the servant of God.
He prayed that, God almighty will bless them and their family greatly and give them a supernatural turnaround that will shock their enemies in Jesus name.
He continued, " I am presently tendering this letter of resignation because the bible says, there is time for everything, quoting Ecclesiastes 3 V 1-8.
He said 'like I said, some few weeks ago, the Almighty God has given devine instructions for the birth of three new Ministries and I will need to be active on them like never before.
The Ministries are: 1. Champions Network Inter'l 2. Champions Deliverance Ministry 3. Prophetess Vivian International Ministry.
The above Ministries are going to be demanding and time consuming.
As a result, there will have to be an appointment of a disciple from the present disciples who will be in charge from henceforth.
He concluded that, the a financial report of the ministry will be submitted next week.
He thanked everyone for accepting his letter in good faith and prayed for an uncommon blessing for them.
On the other hand, the Spoke person for the Council, who was shocked, said he was too small to accept the resignation letter of the servant of God, however, requested that he should please help so that, God will select the right person that will lead them by himself.
The servant of God now told them, God will definitely choose a replacement by himself from His disciples, to carry on His work.
Just watch out anytime you step out of the house. What I see will happen to you if time is not taken is not funny but It makes me laugh. It is in my nature.
Fast and pray for 1 week against misfortunes. There are three lines up for you this year.
Pray hard. You can choose to ignore ( your choice ) but I tell you, you will remember this day.
There are a thousand ways to die in this Nigeria. This phone you are pressing, have you prayed against electric shock? That roof you are under, bullet pierce am nko? It's now 3am , optimal armed robber and hired assassin operation time. When dem reach hospital inside keke, Dr go say lailai, oxygen no dey. Even if you wake up tomorrow, have you prayed against ogogoro drinking busdrivers? Igbosmoking Olopa nko? Areaboys? Trailer fall ontop ya car? Herdsmen on the road? The end will be as inconsequential and ignominious as the beginning.
drimzsmoke: Bros, you don't get it. The whole idea of "feminism" on nairaland by most female monickers is just crazy. My own mum worked from 5AM to 9PM (she closes at work by 4 and resume at her shop that time). But she didn't say because she was a REAL feminist, she won't cook for us(my p-man inclusive) or bath us. My dad only cooked and bathed us as children may be once or twice(I can only remember 1 time)
Have you asked her how she really felt about this? And whether this is what she wants for her kids. You are an adult now, you should talk to your parents like friends. Was your father a deadbeat? Seems like he did not breadwin and did no work in the house. What was he good for then?
BouharryArtikou: Fees for Life in the UK test is £50 for most Monday-Saturday bookings. Some centres charge up to £65 for Sunday bookings.
The increased fee missjekyll (& Hyde) is referring to is the ILR (visa) application itself which increased sometime last year from £2,405 to £2,885 per applicant for normal (up to 26-week wait time application). You may be able to pay either an extra £500 (for priority) or £800 (super priority) to cut waiting times to 5 days or 1 day respectively.
derbylicious: Happy new year. Kindly recommend resources (app &/or website) for a successful life in the UK test prep please.
Use the official LITK handbook(10£ for a months access i think). Read it twice and go to exam. More importantly, ILR application fees now increased by 488 pounds extra.
I ve been on here for 4 years and disagree with you on this , with respect.
This openness is the attitude I met on this thread and its been modelled ever since the first thread.
We are getting even more members than before and must keep this thread a safe space. No room for being mean on here.
ReesheesuKnack: No one says a question is ‘silly’. My point is: A Briton working in Nigeria on a Work permit visa is an Expatriate.
A Nigerian working on a SKILLED visa in Britain is also an EXPATRIATE.
It says a lot that an EXPATRIATE Nigerian, on a SKILLED work permit (visa) to the UK is unable to do the most basic checks/research to know the link for visa application.
I tell you what (in my opinion, which I am entitled to) would have shown that this is an expat?
“Hi all, A friend got a skilled worker visa sponsorship and is in the process of visa application. Is www.uk.com/skilledworker the correct application link? Or are there any other correct links folks are aware of?”
In as much as there are no “silly” questions on this thread, We (ALL of us) should as much as possible discourage laziness and a penchant for being spoon-fed.
I do not agree. I met this thread as a safe space where no question is "silly". It has remained so and wont be changing now.
Pls ask your questions. The questioner does not get lost
ReesheesuKnack: Honestly , I think this someone needs help, serious help.
Someone who has been in the UK for sometime. Has gotten a tonne of experience, enough for them to apply for SKILLED VISA. Keyword: SKILLED. Someone who has gone through the rigours of health & care training, enough to work as an Expatriate in the UK. Someone who made job applications, attended interviews and found eligible for SKILLED worker visa.
Yet someone has to ask a friend to ask on a faceless forum for the link to apply for the visa?
I know that my position may vary with a lot of people here, but I honestly think that some people are not doing themselves any good. If the question was about some technicalities of completing the visa form, I would say fair enough… but to not take 2 minutes of your own time to google uk visa application link? Imagine the circle. The CoS owner doesn’t know the link. The CoS owner had to ask you, and you too doesn’t know. And both of you couldn’t take 3 minutes to search online, but to come to Nairaland and ask the most rudimentary question?
Gosh, this was a tad harsh, wasnt it. The OP was redirected to google eventually.
We just thought to model being nice to each other. Just like that coworker you enjoy working with. The one you jump up to greet and follow to lunch.
adekzy: He's not acting sanctimonious, your reply was rude, unhelpful and condescending to say the least.
The goal of asking questions here to learn from people that already toll the path, making it easy to avoid unnecessary mistakes.... And if you can't help a situation because you don't know you either wákà pass or you don't belong here in the first place.
Hundreds of direct helpful have been shared here without anyone sending us to a wild goose 🪿 chase on Google.
They asked Do you need sponsorship now or will you need it in future? Unless he is planning to leave the UK when his PSW expires, the answer to this question is yes.
bigtt76: Since you already have PSW, say no but they will definitely ask you what type of visa you have and you mention same. It shouldn't affect your chances though except the organisation is employing long term in which case 2 years might be too small for them. But I think you shouldn't worry about this for now, concentrate on getting yourself invited for interview. I applied with a student visa and was called up for several interviews, so I don't think its any big deal. All the best.
You should also research companies on the UK Skilled Worker Sponsor lists ...my bro @Hustla can help you with that or you scour on the Gov.uk website.
