Sorry sir, I’m not disputing your claims but everyone suddenly thinks your wife is the devil. I remember your previous posts where you said your wife has been out of work due to covid as she was isolating due to her “sugar problem” which I’m sure you meant diabetes. I remember very well in that post that your couldn’t care less about this despite the fact that diabetes is a high risk factor for mortality from corona virus. I also remember that from that post she is an agency worker meaning if she doesn’t work she doesn’t earn. All you cared for at that time was that she had to work to meet the financial requirements to bring you over. Seeing as the U.K. is such a hard place if your spouse is not supportive it doesn’t need a genius to figure out her sudden cold feet. But now we are all Joining you to lambast and flay this poor lady who we don’t know how she is coping in this period of uncertainty.
Poster, you may not see it but it's obvious to me that your wife is struggling seriously financially already.

What value can you add to your family financially at the moment in the UK? If you cant , it may be better to stay in Nigeria where you can add value for now. You can go visit for a month if you like. It's only 6 hours . But You must continue working. Must.

None of you are wrong. It's all correct. It's all perspective.

I m quarrelling with ahibo though. I felt it was rather callous to say somebody on oxygen is already dead. That is somebody's Daddy and grandfather. Peoples lives will be changed forever when he dies. undecided

It take years of hard work to build huge fan base. You make it seem too easy.

If it's that easy to make money on YouTube, everybody will be a millionaire by now.
It does take years of consistently good content, just like anything worthwhile. If you are not good at it,why do it at all. This Best ever Food review show guy is a natural. he reminds me of Anthony Bourdain. I wouldn't recommend any of you check him out if you have somewhere to be today. you ll cancel all your appointments.

Seems you are very knowledgeable on YouTube. Do musicians make money from their music video views??
He isn't .if you have got a huge following on youtube and your content is monetized, you are made. I follow mostly food and travel channels like best ever food review show(I highly recommend him,he just did a review on znigeria), mark Weins. once they put out content,1 million views in 24 hours.

Anybody can make money on youtube . so long as you are monetized and consistently get lots of views, you can resign your day job. No ones mentioned Instagram,I wonder why.

With coronavirus changing the way we entertain, more and more people are staying indoors and watching internet content. I m seriously thinking of starting a youtube channel. I can spout off on trump for hours,I do not like that guy at all.

Yes musicians make money from views

Tech is where it's at now. I personally know a tech guy who makes 1000 pounds per day plus enhancements. he works everyday for 8 hours. Those websites and hospital it stuff do not run themselves. I believe the tech guys salary.

I also believe the 150 to 1.2 million. people have moved from 150k to 2 million after tax. It all depends on your skills. If your skills are in high demand eg medical or tech, you will make quite a bit of money.

I can attest to these because I have personally witnessed this from people in the uk.

I noticed that you ignored the rest of my questions, but here you go...

If your missus doesn’t want you to join her, the best advice to you would be to stay put and develop your career in Nigeria, while you take turns to visit each other, maybe once every year. I say this for the sake of peace and your marriage.

That said, let me share a short story with you. I know someone who was earning about 4 times your monthly salary in Nigeria before deciding to join his family in the UK mid last year. Today, that amount is what he sends to Nigeria as monthly Naira savings, after taking care of his UK bills and reasonable amount of savings in Pounds Sterling. Maybe he was just lucky, maybe not. It depends on a lot of factors.

By the way, why are you so fixated on further studies? You can undergo series of trainings and certifications to get better and make yourself a lot more employable, without necessarily going back to “school” at a huge cost, which you certainly can’t afford at the moment. You’re even talking about government loan, for what? You don’t even need a University degree to get a good job and earn a decent living in the West.

Long story short, you can make it anywhere, even more so in the UK, but you need the right support system, including that of your wife, who you’d be moving to join. If she doesn’t want you to join her, please don’t, lest you regret leaving everything behind and throwing away whatever you have right now. You’ll need her 100% support if you make the move, and if you have the slightest hunch she won’t be giving her 101%, stay happy in Naija and enjoy your peace of mind.
Anybody making 800k in Nigeria must be very highly skilled. I m not surprised he is making even more in the UK. Poster are you very highly skilled? I see you talking about working without certificate? and going to school at the same time.

You must be married for 10 years to a citizen to become a citizen. only citizens can access loans.

So,in effect and I stand to be corrected, you will come to the uk ,rent and grocery and transport and entertainment bills will increase, you will go to school putting even further stress on her salary.

Please line up a job or have a plan before you leave Nigeria. Money stress can collapse marriages.

This article whose abstract you quoted verbatim was published 31 years ago and it's the same with this

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2791709/

Among the 17% that had deterioration in renal function, their possible explanation was just speculative as there was no data from their study to show that it was due to their underlying infective process.

I suggest you show us a recent study showing that deterioration of renal function is due to the underlying infection and not due to vancomycin, preferably a randomized control trial or a meta-analysis.

As a Cardiovascular and Nephrology Specialist based in US, can you show us some of your publications so that we may also learn from you.

Lastly, as a specialist that you claim to be, I thought you should have known better than online prescription. Granted that Telemedicine is the way to go in this Covid-19 pandemic, the consultation between you and the Op should have been outside the public domain.

I hope I have just made a common sense here while waiting for your publications in Cardiovascular and Nephrology Medicine.
Cheers!!

But total lockdown will not be introduced again. We just need to learn to live with the virus cos it doesn't seem like it's going anytime soon.
I beg to disagree on this. The next lockdown will be imposed by people on themselves, when they see people keeling over left right and centre. I have never seen derangements in how the human body works as I am seeing with this virus.
This virus will be studied in medical schools till the end of time. We will still be talking about it in a 100 years time. Stock up foodstuffs and hunker down . It will be a long wait.

No bank is going to send your dollars in dom accounts out of Nigeria in times like this. undecided
How it is done is this;
-You take your naira and buy any stable(independent of oil) country's currency that has a direct exchange rate with Nigeria naira.
-You go to the country physically with that cash in hand,go to their black market for fx and purchase dollar,Euro or pounds.
-Carry that fx physically and return back to Nigeria and sell in Nigeria black market too and make what you can make in the name of profit.
Things you should know;
-Your life and money is in danger because if authorities catch you, either they kill you and take your bread or they take the case up and you go to jail, which will make you still lose your bread because that is when you will find out that you have to pay import duty on currency before you can move it in.
Also if robbers catch you too, then it is sorry for you.
-Also,it is a volume business because you will find out that the difference of purchase price of the dollar between these countries(Nigeria and country of purchase) is very small,so you have to hold good money in order to be profitable.Mostly $100k and above.
Also it is a very fluctuating business as rates change everyday so you might want to pick a country you can go to and return the same day so as to make projected profit instantly. You might gain or lose from fluctuations.
-)It is a very shady business too as they can sell you counterfeit fx,so you have to know your dollars or trust your sources.

Look men,it is not a business for the faint hearted but if you have made up your mind, carry on...

The countries that you can do this business in,I will not say.
It is left for you to use your brain grin
There is NO BANK involved,it is an all cash,BLACK MARKET transaction.Let no one fool you!!!
Mein Gott! *clutching at my pearls*

[quote author=Nnamz post=89514308]Just ignore the brainless men on this forum. I mean, why would any sensible person be even asking that question whether in his mind, dreams, or out loud, if a woman should hand over ownership of her property to her husband? Did you hear yourself? (shocked). From now on I'll take the advice of a lady I respect on this thread: ignore all these men without brains.

Hmmm, seems you are alright after all Nnamz. Had you pegged for a rather braggadocious, ''do you know who my father is '' bellend . Sorry about that. I do apologise.

Oh and I wouldn't use bad words like brainless. Be Kinder. Everyone is a product of their environment. Things like this trigger me because of my patriarchal background.

Why do you love jumping into conclusions.

Answer the question.

Is it right or wrong?

Is it logical or illogical?

If you have been following my writings, I support women ownership of properties and investments, men ownership of properties and investments, and joint ownership of properties and Investments
This is a moot point actually. Whatever your answer would be as a man is what it is for me.

As a woman is it proper to hand over a house you built while you were single or house which you inherited from your parents to your husband?

I have heard cases of some men who expected women to change the name on the title documents of such properties.

Is this right? Is this logical?
Let's turn this around? Would a man do this? Why is a woman being expected to do it?
I dont get it. We have brains and bleed red just like men do. Why treat women differently? #shrugs

It depends on if we are running a joint ownership of everything. I would expect to be in on his properties as well.

@OP, here we are on Nairaland, a place filled with weird fellows who are ready to fleece you of every Kobo you have. I prescribed a potent antibiotic which I deal with everyday. I also posted peer reviewed articles on vancomycin and its safe usage in treating infections such as the one you stated. But I am being attacked tooth and nail, talking about you ending up in AKI or ESRD. OP, at the end of the day, the choice is yours. These herbalists here will rather see you sick so they can make money off your condition. Nigerians are truly evil people.
