Didnt I read something early this year about legislation to regulate cooking gas dispensing? This was after the catastrophe in Lagos.

May bear checking out as well if planning to set this up.

Goodmorning fellow Nairalanders. I am new to this thread, can someone explain to me what treasury bill is, and if I want to invest in it how do I go about it. Is it worth investing in?
Hi! Nnoo. We usually say read the first 20 pages of this thread. Then come back and ask any questions. Do you think you can do that? it makes for an interesting read. See you soon

We havent got a lot in reserve at the moment to defend with. I think it will be a pretty terrifying free fall. Aboki fx is now a new source of hypertension. I wonder how businesses in Nigeria will import stuff.

I remember the sense of desperation and hopelessness in 2016. I cant believe it's about to happen again.

These are not very good times. I

Okay, let me try to break it down a little bit more.

Emma says getting loans for consummables like rent, school fees or to buy cars is a bad idea.

But I think if you can get that loan at a very good rate, it's better to use it for those consumables. That way, you free up funds that you would have otherwise used to buy the consummables. Those funds can then be put to use in something that generates more returns than what is being paid on the loan.

Hope you get?
Crystal clear. Thanks Rational minds

I don't understand that either but for them to still be in business, I believe they're making profit. It's possible that they want to grow their customer base as fast as possible
They have been there for at least 5 years. Read their reviews.

How do they make profit/break even? I really don’t understand.
I ve wondered myself. is this money laundering or are they stockpiling forex for the recession.

They are seeing something we dont. I wish I could see as clearly.

I'm not sure this thing is this straightforward.

Lets look at this hypothetical scenario.

Two people work in the same place that gives car loan payable in five years with monthly deductions from salary. Both of them can afford to buy a vehicle without taking the loan.

One takes a loan to buy, and passively invests the money he would have used to in say Mutual funds.

The other buys from his "savings" or maybe interest from another investment while he keeps collecting his full salary.

Which one would you say has made the best decision.
This is usually where I zone out. I dont really do details but rational minds, would you mind stating this in some other way?

I m sure there is a huge lesson in there but I just dont get it. Thanks in advance

The sustainability right here is my fear.

I am 23 and i intend to invest 200k monthly (at 20 - 30% returns) and let it compound till i am 43 (Asides my pension fund). To compound faster, i also took a 1M loan from GTB which already invested and i'm already paying back.

The firms claim to be insured by Leadway but i know well not to trust these insurance companies when problems arise.
I see you took out a loan in order to invest. That was probably not the wisest decision you could have made. please pay off that loan first before investing.

Secondly ,agric tech is still a very new area. the risk is high. however you are young enough to recover if the untoward happens.

I must commend your interest in investing. if you avoid common mistakes, you will go far.

You are quite right, everything in Lekki is somehow over-priced if you keep going to most places in Lekki designed for the rich in Lekki.
Even the Freaky freakys are not left out, I carry one earlier this year after lap dances in Askamaya Lekki, she floow me enter house (first mistake), see everywhere nice, she went to the rest room and came to the bed, my blood was already hot so i told her baby, see bed make we start o as it was already 1am, she said make we talk first, i was concerned so i listened attentively.

To cut the long story short she said i will give her 30k by morning which will be around 6am as their normal departure time, my N10k bargain fell on deaf ears so i told her well, i will not entertain blackmail (in my mind), She said N30k or no deal, i said ok now thanks for coming, she say make i give am cab money, i gave her N1k she refused o, i quietly told her to come outside with me to go find more money, once i dey outside i made it clear na N1k dey for cab, she flung the N1k at my face and left angrily. The next day i drove down to Ajah and picked up a fresh Freaky freaky for N7k, total damage N10k max. Total saving N20k.

So island can be quite pricey.
Can we not please? it doesnt make for very pleasant reading. I cringed throughout.

In other news,I laff sotey tear comot my eye. I dont think the conglomerate is healthserve. They write differently. His problem is not being willing to learn. I can almost see where he is going. But he is young and may have time to recover or not. Depends on whether he learns his lesson.

Social distancing won't become a regular thing becAuse as human beings we are wired to be social. Anti-socialism reduces our humanity. That's why escaped convicts are always caught when they reach out to family or friends (something you would not do logically).

Pattern of consumption may change because many people may want to stock up more in the future . Also people would want to be more liquid and be cautious of where they tie their money down.

Jobs would be lost. But more jobs would be created for those that are creative. There would be a shift for online, technological ways of conducting business. I see AI playing a more dominant role in businesses moving forward.

But if na Nigerians. Leave . We no dey change. We have refused to change our attitude during the pandemic. People are still taking tricks laden with food stuff to reach their destination. Police is till complicit in enabling this despite the embargo placed by the government.

Is it post pandemic that people

As lawless as we may be, if you havent got any money, you ll moderate your behaviour by yourself and with yourself.
For example:compare spending during Jonathan's regime with that during buharis regime.

I would probably say that businesses which supply peoples NEEDS as opposed to WANTS have a greater chance of surviving the next few years.

Go for the second option, especially if the location is good. The starting capital (5m) is reasonable and, if you are strategic about your operations (value-adding), there is a high chance that you will recoup your 5m investment in less than 2 years. Nigerians flex alot.

Also, if you are investing 5m for the second option, it means most of the setup materials will be make-shift materials, so your exit process may not be too expensive if things dont go as planned.

In all, follow your instincts.
May I suggest that you look at how covid will change peoples behaviour in the coming years especially now it will most likely become a yearly affair.

I would suggest that if you do go for the second option, you may have to spend a bit more to make it covid proof.

I also suspect this property may likely become cheaper .

that's not the only thing we talk about here. we exchange ideas as well. Anyway TB has tanked. I wouldn't buy any now.
we are repositioning ourselves to profit off of this recession.
