Nebes:
I remember that ABS in Onitsha used to give news broadcasts in Igbo and Igala languages. I used to wonder then what was going on as an Igbo boy.
The News in Igala was when I discovered we had Igala in Anambra. Welldone . I think Kogi people are the most detribalized Nigerians. They have a bit of everything. It's a pity their governors have all been write offs
Health › Re: Lost My Sense, Of Smell And Taste Who Else Experienced It? by missjekyll: 11:08pm On Jun 20, 2020
omosefeeguaibor:
Hello nigerians!! I do hope we all are staying safe and adhering to the health rules set by health officials(its for our own good anyway) ok to my main subject matter, I noticed for almost a week now, I am unable to smell or taste anything.

And NO it's neither corona nor cold, and it's not a matter of if one is asymptomatic or not. I realized I woke up one morning, and I had this weird feeling about something not being right with me, while I was trying to figure out what it was, I went about doing my daily routine first of in the shower, I practically couldn't smell my soap(fragrance I usually enjoy in the bathroom) I got worried and a bit scared, and thought probably someone tampered with my soap, I discarded it.

Then it got to the point where I had to eat my meal, I also discovered it had no aroma nor taste, (I could only feel the pepper sadly) then I knew I'd temporarily lost one important part of my life.

This is me that enjoy the smell of a rainy day.., the taste of chocolates, the fragrance of my soap, the burnt smell of party jollof rice, e.t.c. All those time I took it for granted I truly miss it now, cos I wish this is something I can control, but its happening to me and I have no control over it.

its just the memories of how things ought to smell I'm left with. Anyways its an experience never to be forgotten and I await the day my taste buds will be reactivated, and my sense of smell returns. For now, its just me and my imaginary sense of smell and taste.

P.S no one should come into my DM to start preaching the corona talk to me I ain't hearing it.
You,my dear, are an irresponsible idiot. Stay and be waiting for your sense of smell and taste to come back. Dont go into isolation. Until you cant breath.

If you infect anybody,God will judge you and punish you in full. Didinrin

obiekunie2:
Pineapple, with its sweet golden taste is a very popular fruit here in Nigeria but the thing is - we all seem to prefer using the English name for it.

for promotion of our culture, please tell us what pineapple is called in your language.

lalasticlala.
it's not native to Nigeria. I would be surprised if anyone has a name for it.

Really Sad and heartbreaking.
Chinedu died in the UK where healthcare is free. So fortunately no hospital bills to pay.
You have already raised 3 times your original budget.
What sort of support are you looking for on a Nigerian website? Do you not know how bad things are in Nigeria? I really dont get it
Health › Re: HELP: How Do I Manage Bleeding Hemorrhoids? by missjekyll: 10:59am On Jun 18, 2020

That is a lie! There are three places of weakness inside your anus from where you can have a hemorrhoid.

What surgery does is to reinforce those areas sort of like adding concrete to sand when building. After that surgery, you go home same day or the next.

Lol UK UK grin. Not surprised though. Thought you should get automatic extension without applying for visa though
It is. Your employer will contact you if you are eligible for the extension. You then send off your old brp for them to change. They ve had mine now for 6 weeks. Lucky that airports are still closed

E be like sey home office done do me 419 shocked

I called the home office covid-19 immigration support team to ask if I have to pay the IHS because I’m a front line NHS staff. They said I shld pay but apply for a refund. They gave me email address to contact to get a refund after payment. I made the payment and sent this email with all my details and application number about 2 weeks ago.

I got a reply today saying:

Thank you for contacting the UKVI NHS Team.

On 21 May, it was announced that the Home Secretary and the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care were to work together to exempt NHS and health and care staff from the Immigration Health Surcharge.

Officials in the Home Office and the Department of Health and Social Care are working through how to implement this change and full details will be announced in due course.

In respect of employees that work in this sector, the Immigration Health Surcharge will continue to apply until such time as an exemption is in place.

Please continue to check the GOV.UK webpages, as this is where updated advice will be published. The latest information and advice can be found here:

If we deprive Mr LuvlyIva of his newfound contentment with Nigeria, will this make your life happier today?

I say let him enjoy his view. Travelling is not for everyone.

Welldone Mr LuvlyIva. You are quite right in your summation. You are doing very well in Nigeria, more than you would have done in the UK.

I have been to Obudu, and Idanre Hills at Akure, and some places in the North.
I am actually chasing travel history, thats what I mean smiley
you can look at a thread on here. I think it's called US non-migrant visa thread. travel history doesnt actually make any difference since 2017 due to the current us policy on anyone coming in.

Maybe ,This will change when Trump leaves office. it's only till November. not too far. Have a look at this thread first . see what you think.

Sorry for barging in.

So it's time to have a travel family. From all works of life, we sit and plan how to travel, when the lock down and COVID is over.
I was thinking Rwanda, a friend was thinking Kenya, we just need teams and we think of when to fly. So during the off periods we have at work or something we think of a destination. Go as a team and come back home... Gonna be great isn't it?

Lets make our dreams a reality this time. June is by the corner, so let's utilise the chances we have. Request the whatsapp link I will have it sent directly to you. Thank you..
Are you serious? We are headed for a recession, please minimise luxury spending. Nobody's job is secure. salaries will be cut. Why not explore Nigeria first? have you been to calabar?

Honestly that tweet did not mean the military will start shooting civilians. Its meant once you allow looting by criminals, the same criminals will start shooting soon and maiming people. Which is eventually happening
please read up the origins of this tweet. never defend it again. do not say it out loud as well . unless you want to go viral and not in a good way

Pls is there any place in the east where I can take my drunkard brother to and keep him for rehabilitation. The family is ready to pay for him to remain there for some time and stop drinking
Does he want to stop? that is the most important determinant. If he does, A psychiatrist can help recommend a detox centre. I m sorry about the pain your family is going through.

whatever you do, YOUR GP SHOULD NOT DROP. I expect you to graduate with a first class. Getting a good job is the only way to stop all the aggravation.

Keep out of his way. Do whatever he tells you to do. Finish your schooling. Since there is noone you can talk to,pull yourself together. no more wild talk of suicide. see you at the top
