Registered for a date at 7:10pm on Monday 6th May 2019. Got confirmation of registration at 7:20pm the same day. Got an email that assigned a date for the middle of July, at 6:11pm today. Registered through category B for English taught Bachelors. |
Champion100:With Category A, there is an option to select Abuja. Category B doesn't have that option. |
deleven:Yep. Unless you have a B-1 or B-2 certificate. |
To be safe, since the instructions are so confusing, I'd advise most people to go through category B (unless you have zero doubt in your mind that you belong to A) especially with this Paulinus we keep hearing about. This new system may make him even more annoying. At least with category B, even if you were supposed to go through Category A, you'll still be granted entry for your appointment. |
We are plenty that are waiting for these dates and we are even the ones with somewhat early admission. I wonder what's gonna happen at the end of May, June and July when admission letters really start pouring in. |
Goztino:I don't have a TIN so I selected 'no'. If you haven't done any tax related thing in Nigeria , you wouldn't have a TIN as far as I know. I believe you can select 'no' as well. |
Cc ketu223 Cc Fabcol Thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure. |
Anyone opened a blocked account recently? I just got my account details from Fintiba without going to sign any documents at the embassy, so I'm just wondering if the process has changed. All they are waiting for right now is a transfer, but I thought you make the transfer after signing something at the embassy. |
lavicollins:Most BSc's require completed 100L course work for admission. Seeing as you have an entire Bsc degree, I think it's safe to say you'll be fine. The key here is justifying your pursuit of a 2nd Bsc at your visa interview, but many people have done it successfully so... |
heybaby12:Wow that was super early. Guess I got to the party late. And I was feeling myself that I applied early...lol |
Princezd1:Let her create a new email account then contact the school informing them about the hack. They'll probably ask her to verify her details with them before the make the change. |
Nonsoanthony:lol. There's only one other school I have ranked above Mittweida so if i get admission there, then my heart will change. But the second school is a long shot so I'm not putting my mind there. |
heybaby12:Yeah but that would be for Summer session right? I'm applying for Winter. The issue has been resolved now though, I think it was from Uni-assist. I even went as far as emailing and calling Dr Klaus and he was way more helpful than Mrs Simone. |

After reading you and badmus306 messages I called uni-assist again and a few minutes later, my application status got changed to 'Data will be sent to university soon'. Thanks guys. |

Oh wow. Thanks for letting me know. I guess I'll keep calling and emailing. |
badmus306:I emailed Mrs Simone and even called a few days later. She said that unless Uni-assist has made a decision, she can't do anything, so I should just wait till the deadline of May 15th. It's so frustrating because Uni-assist is also saying they can't do anything till they hear from Mittweida. I already applied to other schools but my heart is set on HS Mittweida. ![]() |
badmus306:Hey guys, Congrats to both of you on the admission. I'm curious about how you applied please. Through Uni-assist? I applied for their Bsc in Applied Math program on Mar 5th and Uni-assist still hasn't forwarded my application to the school. They said that they are waiting to receive this year's evaluation criteria from Mittweida so they haven't started forwarding applications. Just wondering how you guys got past that. I called uni-assist again today and they supposedly still haven't receive this criteria. |
legionnaire:Yes you can, but make sure you're sending everything required by the school so that you wouldn't have to resend a missing document or something. So I advise you to look through all the requirements on the school's website. Keep in mind though that you may have to send a signed application form when you are finally able to apply through uni-assist |
Ketu223:https://nigeria.diplo.de/ng-en/service/visa/student-research-and-language-course-visa/1015536 - Useful info from the embassy for students. Also has the link to the checklist https://nigeria.diplo.de/blob/1505580/3325d585fde8c3d1ae824b24b3f86ecc/checklist-student-visa-data.pdf - Checklist |
OMOZ1:I think your school may be referring to a German Student Applicant Visa. It is different from a German Student Visa. Some countries process the German Student Applicant Visa for prospective students but I've never heard about it being done in Nigeria. In fact it's not even one of the categories in the appointment booking system. I'd advice you to read the email again and make sure. |
Mystical12:If you're considering a Masters, I'd advise against it if you have no relevant background. If you want to go ahead with applying for a BSc, I see no reason why you won't be fine. They would basically be teaching you everything from scratch so you'll be learning from the ground up. You just have to work hard at it. |
Congrats to everyone getting their AMs. We hope everyone gets to post their interview and AM dates throughout the year and especially once Winter admissions start coming. . . So, to learning Deutsch, since that is all I do these days. I've created a group called Nairaland on Duolingo for those who wanna learn German (which I assume is all of us since we need the language to succeed in Germany). To join you can use the code J3FX7M. Duolingo is free and this group is just a fun way to stay competitive as we learn the language, sort of an incentive to keep learning especially for those of not not yet in Deutschland. Joining is pretty straightforward with the code above. If you're confused, google 'how to join a club on Duolingo'. Ps: 30 days into using the app, I can already form quite a few sentences and have short conversations. As someone said, you have a huge advantage learning the language or at least becoming farmiliar with it before you arrive the country. Happy Learning! |
mbambah1:It says on the Fintiba website that you can write a letter to them or contact them somehow explaining the situation. We are all trying to go to Germany so the best I can tell you is to contact Fintiba directly. Anyone who might have been in your situation in the past is likely no longer on this forum. |
Lanre88, this link is your go-to for course. Use the filters to search for what you want. https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programmes/en/ No one can really tell you what to study cos there are too many options. Use the filters to get the program you want and the advanced search button to find tuition free schools. |
DemigodZeus147:Yeah that's because it depends on the school you're applying to. If the school doesn't require you to send certified hard copies, uni-assist won't require it either. For example if a school says that everything is done online through uni-assist, then all you'd need to do is scan copies of your documents and not mail any hard copies to them. This information can often be found on the application/admission requirements page of the individual university. |
KazOlufemi:Depends on what the school you are applying to asked for, but usually it's copies of your transcripts, diplomas, secondary school results etc |
Hiiii Nairalanders! Been reading for the past couple weeks and figured I should make my first contribution on two things. Learning German, and early applications. Learning German: Duolingo(free) and Pimsleur(if u can buy the subscription, fine. Otherwise look for torrents or something) should be your best friends. Duolingo really helps with spelling while pimsleur helps with listening. As far as speaking, if you read aloud in German often, the words really start to stick. I also dictate to my phone in German and that has really helped with my pronounciations. HS Mittweida opened up its application for a Bsc and Masters in Applied Math yesterday so that's one school where you could get early admission so that you can sort out visa issues early. Happy applying! |
