campichristian: I have another AL from OVGU magdeburg for a more preferred course but you need to put few things into consideration before deciding which I’m yet to make my research based on those criteria, I guess I’ll do that after receiving all admission letters... Okay. Nice. |

Alore: Euro was N404 then.
Even at that, GTB said there was CBN restriction of €1,000 cash deposit per week into an Euro-denominated account. So, direct funding of the Euro account using Aboki's cash deposit was not practical. It would take 9 weeks to fund €8829. Crazy!
A way around it was to open a dollar account, buy dollar from Aboki ($1=N360) and fund the dollar account. Dollar-denominated account can accept $10,000.00 per day.
FX conversion and transfer was then made from a dollar account to Euro account - no restrictions. Then the bank charges you their transaction fees of about 23k with GTB. You can instruct them in the form to deduct the charges from your Naira account so that your Euro amount is intact.
From your Euro account, it then flies out smoothly to Fintiba or whatever BA operator you choose. With Fintiba, you get notified within 24 hours that your Euro has landed. You can also pay directly from your dollar account to your euro fintiba account. The bank will apply a dollar/euro cross rate. If that helps. |

Tommynaku: As you said, its am invisible payment and it doesn't include school fees alone. There are more to using Form A means, of subsistence, medical bills etc. One can use form A for means of subsitence while studying and thats where block account may come in.
I believe if its possible and ok it will be beneficially to us all I didnt mention other invisible trades because they don’t pertain to us in this group. I only mentioned what I knew as regards block acct/school fees pymt and I also said I might not be 100% right. Moreover some other person here just confirmed that his money was returned back to him. So by all means everybody is free to make enquires like I stated. If you must know I work in the bank but that’s story for another day. All the best. |

Aerofly76: Form A discussions. Get it clear. All these banks are in business. CBN rate is definitely not aboki rate. All banks do these Form A thing. And they source forex from CBN and Co. Am sure experienced guys on the platform have explained these transactions very well here. Let me also add, form A is used for invisible trades usually school fees payment. Invoice should be generated by the school and payment is made directly to the school account. But the payment to block account is neither school fees nor the invoice generated by a school. So unless someone has done this before we need to be very sure before proceeding. Most of the people you meet at the branches might not give you the full details or maybe we are not asking the right questions, until you send your documents and they reject it from their head office. I might not be 100% right but this is the bit I know about form A |
