FoodRe: COMPARE Prices Of Food Stuff In Nigeria. by MissyB3(mod): 10:22am On Nov 02, 2011
dominique:
i^^^ my bad, i didn't go through the thread well. the foodstuff prices you gave are quite reasonable except for the plantain.its almost the same if you convert it to naira.
prices of stuff i bought recently. . .
1/2 gallon g/nut oil- N700
2 huge tubers of yams- N500
30 eggs- N740
beans- N600
4bulbs of onions- N100

thats all i can remember for now
That means 1 egg is about #25? In 3 years, the price of egg has increased by 25%. Hmmm!

FoodRe: Jollof Rice by MissyB3(mod): 11:10pm On Oct 31, 2011
busayochic:
1st you have to cook the pepper mixture for more that 3mins shocked
After allowing your stew cook for 3 minutes, you add maggi, I didn't say turn off heat. Lol.
''Add maggi'' and Add rice'' are in 2 different paragraphs, which implies both ingredients are not to be ''introduced'' into the pot concurrently.
After adding maggi, the stew has time to cook before rice comes in. Even if you add rice immediately after maggi, it's still ffine as the stew will eventually cook with the rice.
Plus, timing, in cooking, is subjective.

busayochic:
2ndly, stirring the rice will make it burn embarassed
Putting other factors aside and focusing on only the stir factor, the jollof rice will get burnt IF you:
1) Stir once it starts to boil (after adding broth/water i.e) (probably)

      OR
2) Continuously stir while it cooks

After you add your rice to the stew, you can stir as you please, IMMEDIATELY. Before you add water broth.  You should actually stir, to mix the rice with stew.

busayochic:
heres my rendition of your recipe

I did the whole process backwards wink
I want the plantain  embarassed

@Missy ★ B  I really doubt if this jollof rice will taste good,
You're invited to dinner tomorrow.  cheesy

I'm not a nutritionist, but I know even if you eat 'light food', your system will all the same retain what is useful, and you'll eventually expel what isn't needed.
If you think your diet isn't healthy, improve it. While you wait for NL nutritionists to help you, do some google search.
For example : http://www.google.it/#sclient=psy-ab&hl=it&source=hp&q=how+to+eat+healthy&pbx=1&oq=how+to+eat+healthy&aq=f&aqi=g1&aql=1&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=34383l38215l5l38517l18l10l1l5l5l1l415l3037l2-6.3.1l13l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=be31c673d8b08329&biw=1280&bih=506

This should be in the Health/Fitness section, and you should be asking what exercises to practice.

That said, eat food that contain low calories but high nutrients. Eat, at least, 3 hours before going to bed.
Use the search button, you should get more tips from other similar threads.
