Lol.. Bonny Island in rivers state has 24/7 power supply, bc it is generated by shell.. Imagine if states like lagos have their own plant.. Lagos is more than capable and will have more than 24/7 electricity and can even sell to neighbours

Smh.

I guess this would be nice to some of our countrymen since it is Trump. I imagine what the same people would have said if the sibling of the world's most renown terrorist "endorses" Biden.

Nigeria seems to be the only country in the world taking the US election as though it is happening right here in the country. It has become an APC vs PDP thing sort of.
What's the business of you, your countrymen and America.. Always fighting the wrong battle

I think we are almost there. For the past 4 weeks I have been having 24 hours uninterrupted electricity supply.

The only problem is the exorbitant hike in electricity tariff fees just introduced. Before now I get about 480 units for a 10,000 naira recharge. After the tariff hike I get just 189 units undecided
Which city is that?

a bit complex but here's my laymans understanding of the issues and solutions to them.

1. We don't generate enough megawatts. Nigeria considering the size of population and manufacturing capability would probably need between 30000-50000 MW to guarantee 24/7 electricity. not sure if the combined power generation stations can produce up to 20000 MW.

solution would be to build more power stations which will take time and money. some are already being built in mambilla, taraba. we also need more investment in alternate sources of power like solar wind and water.

2. our transmission and distribution network is poor and decrepit. system needs modernizing so that the little we generate can be effectively distributed. The recently announced siemens deal should hopefully help in that regard. currently we only enjoy 3000-4000 of the 7000 MW generated. when siemens God willing is done with the first phase that should double the transmission and distribution capacity.

3. Government needs to help the power industry through proper regulation establish itself as a proper business enterprise the way GSM did in the early 2000s. this will enable foreign investment and expertise to come in. currently the industry is not conducive for investors to put their money in because they are not sure of making their money back. the increase in electricity tariff was supposed to address that but sadly poor nigerians will be unable to pay due to estimated billing and lack of meters.

hopefully a combination of the siemens deal and scaled up metering should help nigeria get some appreciable amount of power which would reduce reliance on petrol and deisel powered generators.

4. Gas supply is another important issue that should be resolved. good there are some gas pipeline projects coming up which will supply our power stations adequate gas.
Nice one

The main issue is that government has refused to completely deregulate the power sector by allowing them charge cost reflective tarrifs

No, it doesn't mean a man must be a virgin, naturally women don't look for virginity in men. also men don't have sex with emotions, women do. That is why women that sleep with 2,3, or more men loose their ability to pair bond.
A virgin woman is more likely to stay faithful to her man, because he is the man to take her virginity. Haven't you noticed that women have this strong link to the man that took their virginity?

No, virgin women does not always mean they would be good wives, nothing is set in stone. Its all about probabilities.
Good explanation man.. Respect cool

The Exclusive list & Concurrent list in the imposed 1999 Constitution that is a Forgery.

Read it here: "Electricity Calamity and the Sham 1999 Nigeria Constitution" By Ndidi Uwechue
https://africannewstoday.com/politics/electricity-calamity-and-the-sham-1999-nigeria-constitution/

It is 1000MW for 1 million people

So Nigeria needs 200,000MW

We only have 5000MW so for 5 million people

The article above is clear on this matter.

Dissolution is Nigeria's solution!
Then what do the fg stand to gain by keeping it in the exclusive list and suffering the people.. To me states should be allowed to generate power and supply their states, you will find out some states will have stable electricity

I understand u sir.. The system is so bad believing anything that comes from the police is difficult. If i were u sir, I'd ask the same question, but yes everything thing I wrote is true and It wasn't under duress.
Firstly, I was actually Compensated for loss time by the DPO, Every time I had to visit the station, I was paid 1500 by the DPO, according to him, 500 for feeding, 1000 for TP. The first time I visited the police station, I saw two of the officers in the cell, and the DPO actually told me they will get the others and move them to the state capital for orderly room trial.

To how I got contacted, now it seems my report and the evidence got the PCRU worried, so the DPO was under serious pressure to solve the case, till today, I didn't know how they got my number but I was contacted around 9pm that day and invited by one ACP who is actually a friend to my aunt. The DPO was with him and that was how the case began. What I observed was that the DPO kept reiterating he'd never taken a dime from those rogue officers and he is worried they might implicate him so I should make sure i state everything I heard and witnessed incase am called to act as witness.

Actually I got a call from the PCRU and I testified just the way it happened. After 5 days of visiting the station, I was paid back in cash by the DPO. I had most of the events on voice and secret video recording. Too big to post here.. I can send you the recorded phone cal conversations and those at the police station if you don't mind. I got my money long ago before making this post, i just felt its wiser to put up an update here so our people don't lose hope. Just try to gather evidence at all times, it's always very helpful.

The audio and video recordings of all conversations and how i testified are too big to be posted here. I can send you a copy privately if you want sir. I just felt posting the outcome of the case here is important to give others hope and also to remind us to always get concrete evidence.
What's your email.. I need the video recording pls

Prior to my earlier post (link above) here about an illegal police extortion at a checkpoint, I want to state that I have been fully refunded, compensated for time wasted and apologies on behalf of the erring officers who are currently suspended and undergoing orderly room trial.

I was contacted by the DPO exactly a week after I made the post here and on twitter after ACP Markus Ishaku and the PCRU noted my post and gave me a tracking number. When I got to the station, I didn't have much to do as my video evidence already spoke for itself. I should have posted this earlier but I have been quite busy. Am very sorry for that.

I also want to use this opportunity to thank mature and sensible characters who showed interest in the case and those who also gave words of advice.
I appreciate the efforts of the mods who pushed it to front page and also
