Akinz0126:Actually, that might not be the case..He is the first player to be awarded a new contract under the new coach. That says a lot.. |
NairaMaster1:Olympics is just a competition out of many..He still has many years ahead of him to repay his fatherland..I understand his reasons..Just imagine him losing his place in Pep's plan? Will Naija take him serious again in our plans? He needs club stability, that is what he fought for. Naija is always there for him to represent! |

helpee:Which rising profile now? For God's sake he is a former president of a Nation as big as Nigeria. All the recognitions he is getting are just normal. Nd does that make him not probable or what? A terrorist group mentioned his name as their chief sponsor. So should the allegation be overlooked because it involves the hero of the people of the rising sun? Abeg, park well nd grow from your sentimental shackles. |
Sodiq Umar was just horrific in the first half. Their passes were amateurish. Nd in the second half, it was the Germans vs 11 kids! |

BY ADEDIRAN ADEDAYO The opening matches for the European Premier League season were held on the 13th of August, 2016. Amidst all the sports frenzies by fans, there are some points that should be noted from the results of the matches. We have highlighted five of these lessons below : 1. Leicester doesn’t have what it takes to defend the title: The reigning EPL champions lost on the opening day of the season to Hull City – a team that is currently ‘manager-less'. Interestingly, they are the first defending EPL champions to lose on the opening day of a premier league season ever. From their not too appealing performance in the match, it is easy to deduce that the Premier league champions doesn't have what it takes to defend the title they won by losing just 3 matches throughout last season. 2. Manchester United is the team to beat this season: With a sterling performance against Bournemouth, the Mourinho-led team showed their intent for the new season. With Paul Pogba expected to make his debut in the next match, it will be interesting to see how the other 19 teams wouldsurvive the Red Devils' onslaught throughout the season. 3. Arsenal needs two marquee signings urgently: Arsenal suffered defensively in their opening match defeat at home against Liverpool, conceding 3 second half goals in the space of 15 minutes. Arsene Wenger must give all it takes to sign anestablished defender and a 20-goal striker before the transfer market closes in the next 16 days. 4. Liverpool's Klopp effect: Last season, Jurgen Klopp didn’t have enough chance to effect his style in the Liverpool setup. A 4-0 trashing of Barcelona in a pre-season match and a 4-3 away win over the weekend in a potential ‘match of the season’ game against Arsenal at the Emirates stadium is enough proof of the Klopp's effects at the Reds. It will be interesting to see how much success this would bring to the Merseyside giant in the new season. 5. Pep has a lot to do at Manchester City: Much of the talk was on the Pep-Hart relationship, but the citizens win against Sunderland in their opening EPL fixture was far from impressive. For a team coached by arguably the best coach in the world, the display was well below par. Pep Guardiola will need to shun off unnecessary distractions from media talks and controversies within his squad and establish a formidable team at the Manchester-based side. He must enforce his way into the side in a very little time. http://www.nkenu.com/2016/08/five-things-we-learnt-from-epls-opening.html |
vanbonattel:Seriously Oga, ur own type of 'igbo' no be here..! |
Montaque:Same way he touched boko haram and also dasuki-gate se? |
CSTR12:The same Okonjo that couldn't take the governors to the cleaners, when they requested to share oil proceedings? or the same one that sanctioned dasuki's megalooting...Stop trying hard to prove a baseless fact |
Chigold101:Kindly list out the coaches that led us during that "glorious regime" and tell us in full if they were fully paid without issues? Keshi easily comes to mind bro...Think nd stop being intellectually lazy! |
Why the cries pls? This administration isn't the first in trying to discover oil in the north. The only qualm I have here is that we aren't so bouyant economically presently to get involved in such secondary projects. FFK isn't someone sensible enough to be taken serious anyway. |
For things to work the administration needs a new economic team..PYO, Lai Mohammed and others have nothing doing in that team. We need experienced hands. Buhari is only a tested fighter against corruption. Currently, we need more than that. The ministers need to put all hands on deck. I still believe they haven't done enough to be tagged as Failure or Success. They are only poor in policy formulation. |
Bobandgreat:Rants! Gej was worse.. He was only lucky to rule us under a bouyant economy.. |
