Navidoxine. Stops my MS in 24hrs. My doc gave it to me for my first but he didn't have it when I needed it for this baby. My MS is usually severe.
But you have to comb the whole of Nigeria to find it. Took me 2months of search in diff pharmacies before i finally got it. Its quite cheap, N400 for a satchet

Chew thoroughly before swallowing, or better still, just lick until its finished. The doctors on call the morning my CS was done argued over when its appropriate for me to lick the minty sweet. They had different opinions. Maybe confirm from your doc first if its okay to take the sweet now before you go ahead.

This post-cs phase was the most challenging for me. I literally cringe when I remember the whole struggle to sit up, to eat, to walk, to bathe, to swallow the loads of drugs. God is your strength sis. You'll be strong in no time

I use a spit bottle when I'm at home. But when going out, I make sure my bag is filled with nuts: groundnut or almond nuts. I chew them little by little till I'm back home and it helps curb the spitting.

Finally, you have started that business you’ve always dreamt about. Feels good right? At this point, we know you would be trying to figure out how to get a structure for your business to make it profitable. Here’s an article to get you started.

In this article, we will be highlighting a few documents every business should have, and why they need those documents. These documents are what Lawyers would say are sine qua non to your existence as a business, which is simply Lawyer talk for ‘essential, an absolute requirement, important, vital, crucial, etc’.

So here goes:

Business Registration Documents

Whether it is a business name, a limited liability company or a partnership, you need to have some form of entity through which you and others would participate in to run your business. This entity would possess enabling and creating documents, which are most likely documents you filed and received from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

The documentation for a business name includes:

Certificate of Business Name Registration
Typically, a limited liability company’s documentation (which is the most popular) would include;

Certificate of Incorporation
Form CAC 1.1 (Application for Registration of Company)
Memorandum and Articles of Association, commonly referred to as your MEMARTs.


Founders or Shareholders Agreement
A Founders’ or Shareholders Agreement goes further than a MEMART to govern the relationship among the shareholders, and between the shareholders and the company itself.

A standard shareholders agreement would have clauses relating to the disposal or transfer of shares such as pre-emptive rights, rights of first refusal, redemption of shares upon death or disability,issues requiring shareholder approval, assignment of IP and invention rights to the company, appointment of directors, etc.

If Founders’ Agreement, it will also include provisions on responsibilities of the founders, vesting, decision making etc.

Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
An NDA is a contract entered into to protect the confidentiality of information shared between parties (business partners, colleagues, employees, service providers, consultants, investors etc.). It restricts third party access to the information shared and is enforceable in court when breached. An NDA could be mutual (for circumstances when information is to be exchanged by both parties) or one-sided when only one party is to disclose information.

Employment Agreements or Offer Letters
This is the letter with which the business employs employees, or the offer contract with which it engages other “workers” who may not necessarily be employees, e.g. consultants, interns, contract staff etc.

These letters must be carefully worded to ensure that the statutory rights and benefits applicable to each class of workers are covered. You also want to be careful not to term a person who is actually an employee; a contract staff and vice- versa due to the statutorily required pension contribution scheme by an employer on behalf of its employees.

Intellectual Property (IP) & Invention Assignment Agreement
This is an agreement through which an individual assigns rights in an intellectual property to another. The means of doing this is through an IP Assignment Agreement. It should be one of the first documents entered into by founders once they incorporate an entity or for others you engage to work with your business.

Whilst the IP Assignment Agreement usually addresses the assignment of pre-incorporation IP rights to the company, an Invention Assignment Agreement assigns the rights that may arise during the lifetime of the business, it is usually drafted in a “futuristic” manner such that it assigns to the company, rights that may arise whilst executing tasks in the ordinary course of business.

Terms of Service
You know that long epistle you typically skip reading and just check the “I Accept” box? You also should have one, especially if you run a business where you collect information from people, which around these parts is often the case as there is almost always an e-commerce or registration angle to most internet/tech start-ups.

Copying without customising your Terms of Service to comply with Nigerian laws and regulations renders many of the clauses unenforceable and untenable in a Nigerian court against a user.

Privacy Policy
How do you assure and reassure your website users it is okay to provide you with information? A privacy policy is how you do so.

A privacy policy is how you detail your business’ views and procedures on the information you receive from your users.The privacy policy technically is a legal document but it should be easy to understand. You need to put in great effort to craft a clear and accurate document that your team and customers can understand.

Vendor’s Agreement
Having a vendor agreement in place with vendors and service providers is important because it helps set the expectations between the parties when it comes to, among other things, the type and quality of services provided, duration of services,cost and payment terms, liability considerations and dispute resolution terms if things don’t go as planned.

This list is by no means exhaustive. There are several other documents a business should have, some of which may be peculiar to your business or industry. However the documents listed above are a must-have to get your bases covered.

As humans, our wants can never be satisfied. And a fatter salary comes with bigger wants. Here’s a guide to help you control your financial habits for a more rewarding future.

Last December, I turned the big 30. Finally, I had crossed this mark that many see as “real adulthood,” the stage of awakening, resilience and dream chasing. I even searched online for lifestyle requirements of a 30-year-old woman. The requirements ranged from a little black dress, a good piece of furniture to having a defined career.

For the most part of the list, I ticked the boxes. However, something else jumped out at me: it had to do with financial habit. I had to ask myself some hard and sincere questions such as – how my financial habits could have made or marred me and whether or not I made the right financial decisions. Was there a road map? Was I deliberate about it? Did I have a structured plan?

With some hindsight, one always seems to be in a better place to give advice. I won some battles and I also lost some.



What could I have done differently?

Few weeks after I turned 21, I started my first job at an audit firm in Johannesburg. Oh my goodness, I was living my dreams! From zero salary to the equivalent of over one hundred thousand Naira. Yessss! I beamed as I signed the dotted lines to my first job.

As we know, with new money comes new taste. Suddenly, the down town CBD I used to shop at was no longer good enough. I needed a new place to shop for my new “status.” How about my apartment? Shared accommodation wasn’t good anymore;I needed a bigger space and on and on, the list went.

Although my income went from zero to over a hundred thousand, so did my expenses. And consequently, so did my lack. After a point, I didn’t have enough to get me till the end of the month and I literally crawled till month end.

I crawled.

I crawled and crawled.

It gave me a lot of comfort to know that I wasn’t alone as even my colleagues suffered from the same symptoms. So, we all shared the same pain and the difficulty to pinpoint what we were doing wrong. Instead, we directed our frustration at our friends who got jobs in a more lucrative sector. Interestingly, after further enquiry, those friends in the more lucrative sector were experiencing a similar situation.

That was a light bulb moment for me. It was clear that it wasn’t simply about how much I earned, what was more critical was how I allocated my earnings. Ironically, I had qualified as a chartered accountant, spent the early years of my career life auditing profit of different companies and identifying if the companies can continue as a going concern or not. But I wasn’t doing that for myself as an individual. I came to the realization that I needed to treat my finances as such.

For a company, Profit = Income – Expenses

As an individual, Savings/Investment = Salary/Income – Expenses.

I needed to put in as much energy as I put into auditing other companies into fixing my own life.So, I drew up a financial road map.

Every month without fail, I saved 30% of my income. Considering that I was barely getting by previously, how on earth was I now able to find 30% to save?

It is simple; I cut out the unnecessary expenses and started planning better. Many times, some costs can be avoided by making better decisions. For example:

Instead of buying groceries daily, consider buying in bulk.
Instead of eating at work daily, pack your own lunch.
Instead of going for dinner with the girls every Friday, reduce the frequency and take turns hosting each other at home.
Instead of always paying at the hospital every time one falls ill, look for a medical aid plan within your budget.
Automate the savings deduction to coincide with when you get paid. If you get paid on the 30th, ensure the savings is deducted on the same day instead of 10 days after when the wind might have taken the money.

Habits are hard to build, you might want to start with saving 10% of all your income and gradually ease yourself into a 20% benchmark, and then you can increase the percentage marginally after every 6 months.

So if you earn NGN100,000, invest the savings, that is, 10% per month, which is NGN10,000. You are probably thinking that is small money. When will it become substantial?

Let’s do a quick math, NGN10,000 saved every month for 10 years at an interest rate of 10% is NGN2,000,000. See how quickly those seemingly “small” amounts accumulate, whether you’re spending or saving it?

You need not leave it in your savings account indefinitely, it can be routinely channeled into other investment outlets such as mutual funds, real estate, equities, government bonds, Treasury Bills, etc.

If you are in doubt, print out a statement of your savings or investments after a defined period and you will give yourself a pat on the back. Get started already, there is power in starting early

I notice my bp has jumped from 120/80 to 135 /... I didnt bother to check what it is over. Please what do i do to check it? I have never read anything above 120/80 all my life.

Hi teamie. Please see your doc asap. My bp also shot to 130 in my first pregnancy and I was given a drug and placed on bed rest till it came down.
Pls see your doc. Let them check your bp again to be sure its accurate and then help you bring it down. High bp isn't good in pregnancy
