Hi mamas, good to have this thread and I believe I am welcomed.
I have two questions, but I will go with the first one first. How do I get my 15 month old son to eat home made meals. He only tolerates cereals and he shuts his mouth tight to other meals.
I have tried amala, rice, spaghettini, indomie, plantain, semi etc to no avail. He does well at creche and still breastfeeds.
Pls help me mamas.
My son does same thing. Sometimes I just serve a little portion in his plate and set it down for him to play with. In the process, he eats a good amount of it, while the rest serves as decoration for the floor

You are a Jehovah's witness, yet u call ur brethren fools. Be ashamed of ursef oga! U have just behaved non Christ-like!

I still respect the Jehovah's witness as a denomination
Thanks for not losing your respect for us because of that dude's misbehavior towards you.

Each JW is allowed to make their own choice she it comes to blood transfusion. We have a card signed card we carry with us that states our personal stand on blood transfusion so that even when we are unconscious, the card duly signed by us can speak for us and no one can override our decision. The woman can decide to take blood and the husband can't stop her. That is not what we are encouraged to do. We leave each person to decide for themselves.

That is why i totally disbelieve this story.

If we want to be attacked for our belief on not accepting blood transfusion, then its a totally different case. We will explain why. But this, is laden with falsehood.
Christianity EtcRe: Jehovah's Witness Refused Blood Transfusion For His Pregnant Wife Till She Died by mitchyy(f): 6:42pm On Feb 19, 2018
MVLOX:
More reason I even know the story is a lie.. The husband has no right over the wife the woman's wishes. All the doctors needed was the woman's approval. That's if this story even happened. Do yourself a favor and do a very simple research on bloodless surgeries and yes more doctors going bloodless
Exactly why I don't believe the story. The woman can decide for herself. Its a personal decision and the husband has no right over her life as long as she can speak. So the story doesn't add up one bit.

This isn't the first time it's happening. It has happened at Ajah roundabout.

As we turned at Abraham Adesanya heading towards Ajah we met a herd of cows on the fast lane. A lot of them stayed on one side of the lane but some strayed to the middle of the road causing lots of cars to swerve to avoid hitting them.
We had to slow them and wait for an opportunity to drive past them.
I'm only concerned about the risks it poses to road users and also the cows if they get hit.
Person like me wey dey fear cow, thank God nor be drive that day. I for get instant high bp

Surprising!!! This is the same advice a young witness lady was given by a group of elders when she told them she wants to report to the police that she had been molested by an elder.

For those who dont know, Witnesses do not report child abuse cases to the police. They are told by their Governing body (8 old men in warwick) to handle such matter internally.

This has resulted in them ( The organization) losing numerous child abuse court cases.
Just make a quick search on google to see them.

If you become a Jehovah's witness today, and one of their members abuse or molest you.. the elders will warn you "Do not report to the police"!.

Then they will open their bible and read Romans 12:19 for you. If you do report to the police, they will disfellowship you.

The offender who is obviously mentally sick, will b disfellowshiped and then after a while brought back into the congregation.

What a nice Organization.
Another fresh set of lies just to steer the public towards more hatred for witnesses. Its just laughable that someone who is abused who is supposed to be the victim, will then be disfellowshipped. Who does that?

Were you disfellowshipped for a wrongdoing, hence your grouse? Just be honest

I thought you said you were not at my beck and call? Oh I can see it only applies to the questions I raise about your doctrines.
I'm not at your beck and call because I choose when to respond to you and how much time I spend doing so.

If this is how you speak with witnesses who visit you, I'm not shellshocked they stopped coming.

You are not asking questions to be informed. Be truthful to yourself. All I see is accusations, sarcasm and statements laced with untruth. Those who are asking to know, are not hard to spot.

You said we are being discouraged from engaging in personal study, which to me is the biggest boldfaced lie I've ever read here about us. My God! shocked
When anyone who attends our meetings know how much we hammer on engaging in deep personal study? Bro, why? Do you have to go that far in your campaign against witnesses?
Those engaging you in discussions here are just wasting their time to be honest, me inclusive.

Deadlytruth:
Written publications can't answer the question that arise in the mind after reading the publications hence a direct face to face interaction is indispensable. Much as there was existing collection of written scripture in Christ's time on earth he still took time to orally answer questions about God and did not just redirect all questions to those written scriptures?
Why then do you direct me not even to the Bible but to mere literature of magazines and publications subject to error by virtue of their human authorship?

Well, Jesus was so much at the beck and call of everyone that He cut short His sleep to answer Nicodemus' questions, frequently denied Himself rest to attend to as many as came to him for spiritual education, etc. It is not recorded anywhere in the Bible that he told anyone he was too busy to answer his questions however silly or unnecessary such questions might be. Why then are members of our God-approved organization telling people off with excuses of being busy, and calling such questions attacks?

The truth is that you really got no answer. After all you had earlier shoved off my question by implicitly alleging me of seeking to be noticed.
Peace be unto you all the same!
If you that is what you believe, peace unto you as well my friend cheesy

I couldn't resist one last comment grin

The manner in which the preaching is done is the very issue of this thread, and the carrying of bags and magazines from house to house is part of it.
Please address the questions raised.
No. I won't address any question raised. Why? I am not at your beck and call. A lot of pages have been dedicated to this issue and lots of fellow witnesses have said all that needs to be said.
Secondly, this is Monday. A lot of witnesses are not jobless.
If this comment leaves behind me a trail of attacks from you and others, you still won't get a response from me because I'll be busy attending to my family and business cheesy

That is an outward form of religion which has no bearing on actual righteousness. Some denominations also dress in particular ways which to them are the standards of being approved by God as against conduct and inner purity. The holding of Bibles and magazines in hands all over public places is an outward show of religiosity which Jesus condemns. True Christians are supposed to be identified ONLY by very very pleasing godly conducts and the actual manifestation of God's supernatural powers and not by mere showy but mundane activities like holding magazines at motor parks, bus stops and market squares.
Now its no longer the fact that we preach that is an issue, its the bag we carry? A bag? cheesy

The bolded is rather a hypocritic utterance. The caustic contents of your magazines against other denominations have already left no one in doubt that JWs are actually the ones on a personal vendetta against other Christians.

You accuse him of being awake for hours waiting for attacks? Since when has it become a crime or sin to sacrifice one's comfort in non violent defense of one's genuine convictions? Why focus on his zeal and tenacity rather than address his questions?

Are you trying to shut him up in a subtle manner by advising him to go and sleep?
Ironically you people cry "Persecution!" at the slightest perceived attempts of being shut up by the authorities, yet you are guilty of doing the same here using very subtle and seductive means.

What you guys are simply experiencing is the bitter truth. Someone who lacks the spirit will find it annoying when told such to the extent of seeing it as an insult.
Read to understand not to attack pls. Its simple English I typed bro. Breathe in and out and read again.

I said.... "Even IF the op insults US.."

I see you've been awake for hours waiting for people to attack. Maybe you need to catch some sleep and wake up with a calmer mind to discuss. It'll help. Trust me. Don't make people see you as having a personal vendetta against witnesses. Argue your points calmly without getting unnecessarily angry over everything.

If you are a JW, this is totally wrong. Why insult someone simply because they hold a different view from ours? This is not how we are taught to behave. Even if the op insults us, you don't go insulting in return. Not nice at all. I know we are all imperfect and its not easy but let's apply what we learn

The number one thing i do is to wake up early. My alarm is set for 5am if we are meant to leave 8am.
If we are meant to leave 9am, my alarm is set for 5:30am.
While dh and baby are still in dreamland, I fix breakfast, make baby's food, pack his meals and our lunch, cus we come back late and can't afford to be eating out all the time.
I boil his bathing water and keep in the flask. By the time I'm almost done, they are both awake. Dh helps take off baby's clothes and prepare his bath. I bathe him, while dh bathes and dresses up.
By the time he is done, I go in to bathe while dh dresses baby up but doesn't wear him his clothes. That's the last thing we do before heading out cus he will end up soiling his clothes.
We all have breakfast, take a selfie and then head out.
I guess that's a summary of our Sunday morning routine. Lol

Business15 Organizations Investing In Nigeria Agro-business - The Spark Magazine by mitchyy(op):
Looking to fund that great idea? Look no further. This list has been compiled to serve as a resource so you have 15 different places to look for funding, and how to go about it.

Agriculture and agro-business is fast becoming a major focus in Nigeria, especially since the economic recession that visited the country in recent times. The devastating effect of the recession made it necessary to look into other economic opportunities apart from oil and gas. And as necessity is the father of creativity, the many opportunities in agriculture are becoming more obvious. However, despite having creative ideas, for a lot of start-ups, funding is a major issue. It would not be if people had the right information on organisations that have taken it upon themselves to help agro-businesses with funding.

Here are 15 organisations you can approach for investment if you run an agro-business:

1. African Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF): The organisation is a US private fund that provides monetary support to businesses in 24 Sub-Saharan African countries, including Nigeria. With the aim of reducing rural poverty, they have been rendering support to businesses in agriculture, renewable energy as well as rural financial services and communications systems that support the two sectors. With the help of their funding partners, they have funded 257 businesses across 24 countries in Africa.
To be a beneficiary of the AECF fund, you would have to apply on their website and then go through a selection process, after which selected applicants are awarded the grant. The grant usually comes with post-awards conditions that would be made clear before the grants are awarded. And after the initial disbursement of funds, the AECF monitors their beneficiaries quarterly or semi-annually before other funding is made.
You can contact by sending them an email.

2. Bank of Industry: The Bank of Industry is an organisation that is saddled with the responsibility of transforming Nigeria’s industrial sector. Therefore, they offer loans to manufacturing and processing businesses. The bank does not offer loans to individuals or group of persons but to enterprises and they have to be registered. They also do not offer cash to the beneficiary; instead they pay vendors and suppliers directly. Their loans start at 5 million Naira but there is provision for less than that.
To apply, you have to be certain your product is among the products BOI supports. Funding for start-ups is at the bank’s discretion but the start-ups would need to have proof of performance before they can be considered. You can visit their website for more information.

3. Bank of Agriculture : Similar to the Bank of Industry, the Bank of Agriculture has a mandate by the Federal Government to support small and medium agricultural enterprises as well as non-agricultural enterprises. BOA has disbursed about 41 billion Naira to over 600 enterprises across the country in the last ten years. They get the beneficiaries by partnering with other institutions, such as Bank of Industry.
To secure a loan, you will need to have had a customer account with them for at least six months and must have deposited 20% of the required loan, must have a collateral excluding landed property and have a detailed business plan. The bank, luckily, has branches across the country or you can also send them an email.

4. SMEDAN: SMEDAN, which stands for Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, was established to initiate growth and development of small and medium enterprises. The organisation has different types of loans; the business loan, personal loan, mortgage loan and credit cards. The loans are divided based on size of fund, interest rate and the type of business to be funded. The organisation serves as a link between you and loan providers based on the type of loan you apply for.
To access this, you must fill in your information on their website and afterwards they suggest different loan providers for you based on your information. You can contact them by visiting their website.

5. Agri-Vie: Focusing mainly on food and agro-business in Sub-Saharan Africa, Agri-Vie is a private equity investment fund that seeks to address development impact challenges. For close to ten years now, since their establishment in 2008, they have invested a lot of money into value. Their ability to recognise value or its potential has made it possible for them to make impact in the region. But for rare cases when they invest in stand-alone primary production, Agri-Vie only invests in food and agro-business value chain.
Their focus is on food and beverages, dairy products, food logistics, health and wellness products, convenience food, forestry and timber agricultural inputs such as seeds and fertilisers, and renewable energy. Before any offer is made, the organisation will take a space of 12 to 16 weeks to evaluate the application based on prospects, capital structure, terms for the shareholders agreement among others. Agri-Vie is situated in South Africa or you could email them.

6. Tony Elumelu Foundation : Founded in 2010 by Tony O. Elumelu, TEF is an African non-profit organisation founded to support philanthropic goals across Africa in order to drive Africa’s development. Since then and when the TEF Entrepreneurship programme was launched in 2015, the foundation has supported many businesses across Africa, including agro-businesses.
You can apply into the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme by visiting their website to answer certain questions as well as upload some documents. If selected, you stand to gain not only funding, but also mentorship and a strong support system that would all see to your success. You can visit them at their office in Lagos, Nigeria or send them an email.

7. Seedstars: Seedstars is a Swiss-based non-profit organisation. Their focus is investing in entrepreneurship ventures and technology in emerging markets around the world. In their popular competition, they invest up to $500,000 in the winning start-up company of any industry. The competition is run locally, regionally and at the global level in Switzerland.
You apply by going to their website to apply and be ready to pitch your ideas to a jury. For further information, you can send them an email.

8 The United States African Development Foundation: Focused on agriculture, off-grid energy and youth-led enterprises, the USADF is an independent US government initiative established by the congress to assist economic activities that improves lives in poor communities in Africa. Since inception, they have invested about $53 million in 500 active enterprises. Timely, the USADF calls for proposals from 100% African enterprises in the agricultural sector. However, they have different specific sub-sectors that they consider for each country. For Nigeria, it is rice, sorghum, cassava and aquaculture. You can get more comprehensive information at their website.

9. Acumen Fund: Acumen Fund was founded in 2001 by Jacqueline Novogratz to alleviate poverty using entrepreneurship. Acumen, however, started investing in West Africa in 2011. Since then, they have invested in six companies, including Esoko, a mobile platform that provides agronomic tips and market prices to rural farmers. Usually, they provide patient capital that provides start-ups with the flexibility and security to grow their business. You can contact their West African office in Ghana or you can also visit their website.

10. CDC: For over 60 years, CDC has been supporting businesses that have the highest impact in Africa and South-East Asia. They have a strict adherence to responsible investing, so they only invest in enterprises that would not make them lose money. Therefore, they expect their investment to achieve results that are proportional to the risks and opportunities in the specific market. CDC’s focus is centred on but not limited to infrastructure, manufacturing, health, education, food-processing and construction. You can be a beneficiary by submitting a proposal and after review, you stand the chance of being offered monetary support. If you want to get in touch with them, you can through their contact page.

11. Ford Foundation: Ford Foundation is a New York based private organisation aimed at advancing welfare worldwide. They believe in harnessing the opportunities provided by the West African political circumstances to address inequality in the region. Therefore, the Ford Foundation provides grants to ideas that would ultimately improve economic equality. If you are interested in applying for their grant, you can submit an application on their website and they will get back to you in 45 days.

12. YouWin: YouWin is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Finance aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs to grow their business. To be able to apply for YouWin, you have to be a Nigerian and resident in Nigeria, must have post-secondary school education, have to be between the ages of 18 and 40 and must not be in the civil service. Their focus is mainly on agriculture/agro-processing, ICT, retail, construction, and manufacturing among others. Application is done through their website.

13: African Development Bank: Founded in 1964, the organisation was established to alleviate poverty and improve living conditions in Africa. The African Development Bank consists of three entities; the African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigerian Trust Fund. Based on the economic recession that Nigeria faced, focus have been shifted to entrepreneurship in the sectors of agro-business, manufacturing and mining. The bank is therefore tasked with providing funding for budding entrepreneurs with creative economic ideas, especially in the sectors listed above.

14: Startpreneur: Startpreneur is a Nigeria startup accelerator that helps small and medium enterprises in the country start up and grow their business. The organisation, through an efficient team, does not only provide financial support but also hands-on guidance to help the budding entrepreneur develop. The organisation takes the entrepreneurs through a three-month accelerator program to make them investment-ready as well as to ensure success of the business. You can apply to be a part by sending an email, which should include your executive business summary.

15. Wennovation Hub: With focus on social impact sectors, such as agriculture, education, healthcare and infrastructure, Wennovation Hub is a Nigerian innovation accelerator that empowers entrepreneurs in order to achieve sustainable development for Africa. The organisation does this by providing services such as investing, management training, consulting, co-creation and providing co-working spaces among others. You can contact them by sending an email to them.

It is obvious that the issue with starting up a business in Nigeria has more to do with lack of information than unavailability of funds. With the right information at your disposal and harnessing that information, you are on your way to having the business of your dreams.
