At the moment, Kogi workers are owed 5 to 6months salaries as they undergo screening! Survival without salaries (compounded by the national economic situation) has been tough for them!
Celebrities › Re: Skales & Manager Osagie Remanded In Police Custody After Confessing To Fraud:pic by MNDY(m): 10:03am On Jun 01, 2016
Just when I started feeling happy for this guy and his stardom, especially after being mocked by a Nairalander here on a thread sometime ago that he (Skales) would be an upcoming act till Jesus returns! That was when he was still under EME and compared with Wizkid!
-
He blew my mind with "Gum Body" and I am already planning to get "Lo Le" into my phone to be personally grooving to it on my own!
-
As for you Shady, work hard or leave EME like Skales. That OAP's remarks to the Skales issue are exactly my own thoughts on the issue too.
Politics › Re: Power Sector Illegally Sold, Fashola Says by MNDY(m): 9:30am On Jun 01, 2016
I knew that NEPA's privatization went wrong when it was done the monopoly way, bad thing for privatization's intention of providing enjoyment for the populace.
-
If the refineries are privatized legally like we are expecting, it would be a very bold move made that will have far-reaching positive impact on the ordinary Nigerian!

Politics › Re: FG Is Right On Fuel Subsidy Removal by MNDY(m): 1:24pm On May 13, 2016
Subsidy removal, way to go but if the minimum wage is not increased as palliative measure to boost purchasing power, NIGERIANS WILL DRINK FIRE IN JUST THE NEXT FEW DAYS ALONE
-
I want that (and not the subsidy removal) to form the basis of the looming protest #OccupyNigeria which I think the govt can avert even as we wait to hear its planned palliative measure!
Politics › Re: Fuel Subsidy Removal: A Good Decision Taken Too Late by MNDY(m): 1:08pm On May 13, 2016
Nigerians, perhaps this was a divine arrangement afterall!
-
If GEJ had implemented it and its funds were looted (like through SURE-P etc), the question of the fund's judicious use would have been another thing entirely and Nigeria would have remained the same except for more money for the looters to loot in such atmosphere of a freely riding corruption.
-
However, in agreement with the OP, that would have been the most appropriate time to implement the fuel subsidy removal in contrast to now when the naira is almost worthless and almost everything used by Nigerians is imported vis-a-vis the even more harder hardship of the subsidy removal engendered by transportation cost of products. To purchase anything will be quite very difficult - the sacrifice for the time being before things get better.
-
But if it was implemented then under GEJ and he did not continue in office, PMB would have emerged winner and seen to the judicious use of its funds as the subsidy removal would have still been running (already implemented). Comparing the depth of hardship then and now would depend on the pump-prices and the Naira's value now!
-
I care less about APC's 2012 condemnation of the subsidy removal @ GEJ and now supporting it either due to absence of govt subsidy money now or oppossition's political gimmick then whatsoever!
-
OPPOSITION'S POLITICAL GIMMICK:
Especially in politics (and in other situations like a debate etc), to win support, an opponent would DO ANYTHING to disagree with the rival, even if the rival tenders a very obvious and accepted truth!
Politics › Re: Tinubu Reacts To Fuel Subsidy Removal : "Buhari made a wise decision" by MNDY(m): 10:09pm On May 12, 2016
Anti fuel subsidy removal @ GEJ but now pro fuel subsidy removal equal to sheer "political gimmick"
-
Especially in politics, to win support, the opposition will DO ANYTHING even if it means disagreeing with a very obvious truth by the rival
Politics › Re: Tinubu Reacts To Fuel Subsidy Removal : "Buhari made a wise decision" by MNDY(m): 9:56pm On May 12, 2016
I personally take all these remarks of "opposed it @ GEJ but supporting it now" for pretence of ignorance of the concept of "political gimmicks" by people
-
Especially in politics, to win support, an opposition would DO ANYTHING to smear the image of the rival even if it means disagreeing with the rival on a very obvious truth!
Politics › Re: Subsidy Removal, the Reality And The Advantages. by MNDY(m): 9:36pm On May 12, 2016
Pidggin:
Subsidy was the only steady benefit we were gaining from our oil wealth. OP before you wrote your epistle you should have researched other oil producing countries. Most of them subsidize fuel and still provide basic amenities

You can deceive gullible Nigerians, but not some of us who are exposed
Those countries provided the basic amenities (and advanced) by judiciously using the subsidy removal's monies after passing through a very painful sacrifice stage when the subsidy was removed initially
-
On the certainty of the judicious use (and not heinous loot) of the fuel subsidy monies in Nigeria's case, Buhari's zero-tolerance for corruption would ensure the judicious use of the monies!
-
The need for increased minimum wage to match conditions cannot be overemphasized!

Congratulations madam grin grin
One of my top favourite songs even though I'm a male!

-
An excellent song and its nice video with that very handsome guy that played the role of her boyfriend!
Politics › Re: Fulani Herdsmen Attack Coromo In Taraba State, Kill 12 by MNDY(m): 4:32pm On May 08, 2016
But how can the president nip them in the bud when they are spread across the lenght and breadth of this country?
-
Perhaps his silence should not be taken as support for their activities even if the herdsmen are capitalizing on the fact that a fellow Hausa now rules the country whatsoever to carry out their heinous activities!
-
On the other hand, if a grazing reserve will address the problem, government should speed up its implementation before we have a full-blown herdsmen terrorism national issue on our hands!
-
The order of military deployment to Niger Delta to face the new militant group is because they (the militant group) and their activities are restricted to a particular area and region!
-
The herdsmen are everywhere in this country! And I am not even safe in my own remote area here where we see them pass by everyday!

Sports › Re: Sesugh Uhaa, Nigerian WWE Wrestler Makes A Debut by MNDY(m): 3:08pm On May 08, 2016
OP, which part of Nigeria can his origin be traced to?
-
And what is it with this WWE? I must admit that it is a well-organized event! But I don't understand the idea of becoming a fan of a thing that promotes violence!
-
It only engenders the tendency of aggression in its fans and watchers! Although not an option, boxing is kinda mild in that regard! Violence in movies is quite okay to watch since the good guy and the bad guy are known from roles played! But wrestling, boxing . . . NO! And please spare me the self-defense theory which you may refer to Karate for!
Education › Re: Nairaland Interschool Debate 3rd Edition: Third Place Winner: LASU by MNDY(m): 2:51pm On May 08, 2016
In shock, I had to access a post on my Facebook a couple of minutes ago in which a certain individual with his group passed vote of NO confidence on my former local government chairman now serving in the capacity of House of Reps. However, he performed very nicely as L.G chairman to the admiration of the people!
-
He is said to be absent in most of the proceedings of the House so far and has not brought up any bill whatsoever to the House when his counterparts are pursuing one bill or the other!
-
Along with some others, I tried to defend his "good" reputation judging by the good works he did when he was chairman! But the owner of the post opened my eyes to some shocking revelations after agreeing with me that he truly did live up to expectation as chairman!
-
He said his time in office (as chairman) witnessed the local government obtaining the largest federal allocation in the history of the local government, the thing (perhaps) responsible for some of his good works as at the time!
-
He also said the man has been reported to have led his thugs to some communities, unleashing them on his critics, destroying their houses and even making the very elderly ones among them to kneel before him!
-
If not for the social media (my Facebook account in this case), I would not have known these things! Though there are purported claims subject to confirmation!

oluamid:
The fact that the show was adapted from the books tells you all you need to know. And I tell you, the show doesn't even come 25% close to the thrill you'll get from the books. It is known.
Lolz @ "It Is Known", you got that from the Dothraki . . . right?
-
But I heard somewhere that Jon Snow was left dead in the book in contrast to his recent resurrection in the last episode 'Home'
-
HBO is said to have plans of deviating from the book in certain circumstances!
-
I actually want to order for the book! I hope the book is as brilliantly worded as HBO's screenplay in GAME OF THRONES, a thing that made HBO earn my respect and admiration apart from extreme suspense too
Literature › Re: Things Fall Apart VS Arrow Of God (pics) by MNDY(m): 4:05pm On May 02, 2016
oluamid:
I won't like to compare because I personally find both Things Fall Apart and A Song of Ice and Fire compelling. Forget the TV show, read the book and give your opinion.
You are telling me that I stand a chance of getting an even more thrilling and fascinating experience from George R.R. Martin's book than the one I am already getting from HBO's Game of Thrones! Superbly intelligent minds are behind this show
Literature › Re: Things Fall Apart VS Arrow Of God (pics) by MNDY(m): 6:32am On May 01, 2016
I've not read Arrow of God, but Things Fall Apart is one fiction work so perfectly composed that it is globally respected! Only the TV show GAME OF THRONES can stand Things Fall Apart in intelligently created fiction

The same one who was at the center of their fight and quarrel with their brother Jude which I still believe was real and not publicity stunt especially after hearing the song 'Call Heaven' by Paul at that time, reaching out to their late parents in the song!
-
I actually finally knew how to establish their two identities (each to his name) through that trouble, like this! Peter is the 'trust-breaker guy' like Peter who denied Jesus in the Bible!
-
I hitherto always couldn't place each to his correct name! I would know them correctly at a time and then forget later!

The area where I live is remote and these Fulanis usually come around!
-
My fear intensifies with these stories of their attacks in other places including neighbouring villages and communities here sometime ago!
-
Only the provision of a grazing reserve by the government as suggested by someone before, can address this problem!

This Olajumoke still has that bread-seller face even after the stardom and upgrade! Lolz!
-
Keshi my guy is good with lyrical words perhaps even better than Olamide!
-
I am earnestly waiting to hear what Lil-Kesh will name his own record label! Especially after seeing that creative coinage of an acronym that he formulated as the name of his album - Young And Getting It (Y.A.G.I)

YAGI sounds like a Yoruba word! I don't know if it is!
Celebrities › Re: Olamide Gushes About Wande Coal's Cover Of His Song by MNDY(m): 1:16pm On Apr 27, 2016
DJ FX2 just jammed it on Dream FM's Mid-Day Express Show now and believe you me, Wande kept it so 100 that I plan to download it!
-
Singing on it with his usual sublime skills took the song to another level giving that excellent listening experience to his own part in it!
-
Wande is one very skillful guy out there! I remember being very stuck with one of his old amazingly outstanding song 'Private Trips' and I've also jammed one of my favourites from him titled 'Same Sh$t' ft. AKA on countless repeat without getting tired!
-
Tipsy's version of WhoYouEpp is also very much on point! She broke down the concept of the song with her verse as she cited various examples of WhoYouEpp scenarios! Nice! I love her version so much!
-
Meanwhile, this new song from an upcoming Enugu act named Dizzy VC ft. Phyno titled 'I Still Want My Girl' is taking over me totally! Very dope tune from an upcoming for that matter! I actually thought it was J. Wills until I googled it! J. Wills is also one fiercely skillful dude to look out for!

Baddest thing ever in they history of motion picture, followed by Godfather trilogy, and then House of Cards. smiley
Like every other critic of GAME OF THRONES condemning the show for the ill-fate befalling the Starks (suspense strategy) or the death of almost all earlier familiar characters, or what do you actually hinge your criticism on?
-
It is an awesome show with its contents styled along real life issues to control one's mind! I totally love the show to pieces!
-
I think HBO wants 8 seasons and perhaps has announced finishing it in 2017 as against the usual way of every Winter of every year for every GAME OF THRONES season!
-
So, which series or Hollywood movie whatsoever is your best/favourite and better than GAME OF THRONES in your own opinion?

I would really love a return to Qarth as the series continue! I love that place!
