Chimamanda this, Chimamanda that. How long has Chimamanda been married? 4years? 5years?.

Give me a name of a feminist that's been married for over 20years and is still married.
my mother believes in treating all her male and female children equally and she has been married for 32years.
Everything they own with my father is equally divided between irrespective of who acquired it.
They are millions of ordinary women out there who believe in equal treatment of all who are still married happily for decades. So i dont really see the point of this.
My father is proud of his wife and has never seen or treated her as a threat because she is equally as human as she is undecided

What kind of men have you had dealings with in life? So according to your logic only men do inhumane things? What then do you say about women who cheat and their husbands end up unknowingly raising children who aren't really theirs? Or haven't you seen women who verbally, emotionally and physically abuse men too? Pls be fair in your reasoning ok.
I am being as fair as i can be. Men make up for things are that are considered inexcusable when a woman. Thats the way society has always been.

I dont remember ever saying that women cant get abusive too. My point was whether she does something small or big its always painted in the worst way possible, what i need to know is why?

I have dated the good and the bad. If i see unfair treatment i call it what it is. I give respect wherenits deserved and i dont hide being the "submissive woman veil" where im not respected. Thats the way i am.

That reminds yesterday a woman posted on how she got married a virgin and barely 2 months into her marriage she found her husband's sextapes, in their matrimonial bed with different men. She sounded like the God-fearing submissive wife, just like you. Clearly "submissive woman" get it right, do tell me what went wrong there?

Adivce given to her by many was pray for your marriage and her will grow up. Now tell me if it was the woman cheating would the guy have been adviced to pray for his wife because she is still growing up?

Read too many stories of perfect submissives who get screwed over their entire married life but they stay through the pain, deceit and diseases because they "blindly follow the Will of God". Im sorry i know where to draw the line between being a good woman and being plain foolish.

My previous comment strictly applies to decent people who are at least trying to live their lives in a way that pleases God.. If your have had bad experiences with men in life, I do hope you eventually find peace and realise there are PLENTY of handsome, loving and decent brothers out there.. smileyThat's all I have to say to you. Take care!
i have a father who loves his wife and i hope my marriage to be as successful as theirs. I have already witnessed a decent man right from the day he set eyes on me. I know whats good and i know what just ain't it. He has never tried to impose his authority on her. They do most things jointly and equally. Doesnt matter who acquires what in the house, so long it forms part of joint estate they own it equally. They treat each other with the same respect and dignity and thats what i long for.

Christian feminist...Lol......Leave God out of feminism biko....
let me get this straight feminism is anti-christ because you people believe they are going against the will of God.

Do you call yourself anti-christ when you go against the will of God by having sex outside marriage or do you call it a common human weakness?

That being said, I am a Christian and my bible teaches me to submit to my man. The same bible also instructs men to Love their wives like Christ loves the church.. this means in an unconditional and sacrificial way. In my time on earth I've come to learn that life is so much easier when things are done God's way and any home structured in this manner will definitely be successful/happy and peaceful.
God told men to love their wives in a conditional and sacrificial way thats true, but do tell me why they divorce or cheat on their women over trivial issues? Shebi they are still God-fearing but when a woman decides not to submit (im not even talking about infidelity or divorce) she is the next best thing after Satan.

A man cheats or has an extra-marital child---> he is a human being capable of flaws

A woman decides to go against her husband's decision to relocate to another city---> an anti-christ, going against the will of God. She cannot submit to her husband's authority.

Maybe you like society this way but i feel everyone should be treated in the same dignity and respect whether man or woman.

Feminism started off as women asking for basic rights such as the right to vote, work, get an education and be financially independent... All of which are now achieved. So what else are modern day feminists fighting so vehemently for? They want to be superior to men but yet call it "equality" .. thinking that to be wise is to disrespect a man whilst demanding adoration in return.
Lets see;
1.There are still child marriages.if you dont believe me go ask at what age Yerima marries his last wife and what age he divorces her to take a wife younger than her. Come back at tell me there is no need for those child to be treated with the same respect and dignity as their male agemates. Instead of being in school their are being married off at 15 and divorced at 17, again go ask Yerima whats up.

2. Sexual abuse against women and underage girls. How many stories on NL have made FP in the last 2months alone where an underage female child was molested or a female was gang raped. But you know what maybe you are right, they already have the rights, there is no need to promote realisation of those rights now is there?

3. You probably dont live in Africa but women in many African countries as still being denied succession rights because of their gender. Unless you are telling you help everyone of them that finds herself in this situation, i dont think you should be saying anything any further.

how me a woman who constantly battles to wear the trousers in her relationship and il show you an unhappy woman who doesn't know how to enjoy her life. There is strength and blessing in submission.. A man who loves his wife would do ANYTHING for her if she were to play her role. Why turn your home into a war-zone.
why would be treating each other with same respect and dignity be seen creating a war-zone. Last time i checked we are all equal before the Lord, whats so sinful about treating each other that way?

am a woman who is not ashamed to admit that as women we all need companionship and I enjoy allowing a man be a man whilst I do my part as a woman. This approach to relationships has never failed me in life...
No one said you shouldn't be a woman. The issue is being treated with the same respect and dignity

Frustration is the bedrock of extreme Nairaland Feminists. That and of course their atrociously rotten puccy! Clean women has no business with extreme feminism. They love their men too much to care about who's boss and all what not... grin grin grin
i doubt a man who is confident with himself will feel the constant need to make a woman feel like she is inferior to him either. Only insecure, frustrated men feel the need to do so grin

The less privileged should work to put food on their tables like everyone else unless they are underage, seriously disabled or ederly.

The Govenor should be working towards creating employment for these people not just giving them free food.

i understand you. Why put up with something your partner would never put up with if the tables were turned.

I just lost hope for the OP when she said that she even got calls and messages before the wedding and his friends even covered up for him and she just turned a blind eye to it. Of course there would have his back what else would she expect from them?

He lied the first time and this is the second time, but hey maybe she wants him to bring any extra-marital child in the house before she really knows what she is dealing with. What ever makes her happy o

All these people talking about for better or worse will be the same people to insult her left, right, centre, over and under when she comes back with another sexcapade of his.

Always an excuse 4 a wayward n promiscuous life angry
its not an excuse other end up with personality disorder because of the trauma. Rape is not something easily dealt with. If anyone close to you ever falls victim you will understand just how much it can damage a person

That's the average Nigerian female mentality. wink cheesy You are only doing yourself a disservice by participating in conversations with resilient, die-hard masochistic women. cheesy They would soon start quoting the bible to argue why you should die in pain. grin The bible says God will not give us what we cannot bear/handle. Nigerian women can handle pain, hurt, disloyalty from their men cheesy, that's why God gifts them all three in their marriages. lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed
