Family › Re: I'm Bored, So Why Not?? Yet Another Feminist Thread! by Moana(f): 7:31am On Jun 05, 2015 |
The main purpose of feminism is to promote human rights for women and it would be unfair to discriminate against transgenders because of their sex change. They should just be accepted like any other fellow woman, so long their goal is to redress issues that negatively effect girls and women because of inequality. The focus should be on the goals they aim to achieve as feminists, not their sex (sex-change thereof). |

Yezzir: You may be right but I wouldnt expose myself more than I have already. Talking about it with strangers is even too much for me but I really don't know where else to turn. Maybe one day I'll look back on it and smile but for now I just need strength to face the next day
Anyway thanks for your words, you're probably right about the gossiping whatever it is that happened I hope you will come to peace with it one day and finally move on. One thing you need to know about life is that people will always talk good or bad and you need to stop feeling the need of looking good in everyone else's face. We all make mistakes, learn from them and move on. Everyone has problems and everyone makes mistakes, never let gossip or judgemental people take away your happiness and peace of mind. I can tell that I always have people who try and rub my past mistakes in my face and all I do is tell myself that they probably hope it will make them feel better about themselves by being mean to me. They gain nothing and I lose nothing, so its best ignored. Accept that you made a mistake, learn something from it and continue to seek what will make you happy. There is no point in crying over spilt milk, just move on with life and make wiser decisions in the future. Let those who have nothing to do continue to live in your past and the mistakes you have made before, but never let them drag you down that road. Your past remains what it is and its best to leave it behind you and be happy. |

Say no to promoting gender equality in Nigeria and have your grandfathers and fathers marrying off 12year olds all in the name of culture/religion Shebi the plan is to make them submit and turned into sexual objects before they even know what algebra is |

francababy: Update on this event. They were able to reach Oscar through one of his friends this early morning. Oscar said he never slapped his mum. He said she slapped him once and he was shouting at her not to try it again then she wanted to slap him again and he slapped her hand down. The palm of her hand. When she was throwing the slap, he slapped her hand down like he was blocking the slap. Then he went to his room packed a few things and to look for Tania who went to wait for him in their church. that woman is very foolish and she needs to let her son be. She wasn't dictating his life when he was struggling why should she feel she needs to dictate his life now that he can stand on his own |

bukster: When I first saw the title of the thread I was horrified and extremely angry but after reading the posts in this thread it seems that law was created to impose further sanctions of people who rape minors and it doesn't actually lower the age of consent It is a welcome development but the law should definitely apply to children over the age of 11. It is appalling that although we are in the 21st century we still are not able to create laws to protect innocent children from pedophiles. my dear don't expect the law to protect children if its the pedophiles themselves making the law. |

favourelisha: Useless muslims religion but it will not and never work in this country,if they like let them give out their daughter in marriage @ 11yrs. Nonsense!!! they want others to give away their 12year old daughters to them, the plan is not to subject their own child to that bill |

So @ 11 now, men can screw dem legally?
Did the senate check their mental capability or dem no no say cases go full court now with "she willingly aggreed" of course they didnt , they just tasted 12year old Toto and decided it was good to go. You think they are worried about a 12year olds capacity to reason and be held liable? |

esscence00: i've never had any of such 'bad' experience to potray women as vile. what am saying is that some nairaland 'feminists' have interwoven feminism and man-hating together. and I would always condemn violence in any form, so thats even out of it. recent threads i family section would confirm what am saying about feminism being interwoven with man-hating. so I understand feminism and the concept is not just 'it'. and in which circumstances has it been interwoven with man-hating? Enlighten us. |
