Hello, I am a young professional and an international student from Nigeria currently working in Mississauga. I am in search of a private room in the same area as I am in need of a convenient and comfortable place to stay. As a non-smoker, I do not have any pets, but I am open to living with them if necessary. Thank you for taking the time to consider my request for a room in Mississauga.
Notwithstanding, if anyone knows any agent who can assist should pls share their contact. |

I dof my hat oga, you are too much. You deserve an award. Lekiboboe: While you await response from the gurus.
THESE ARE MY OWN SUGGESTIONS
You have two options here cos there you have no study gap & since you graduated 2021(MSC) and you also have Work Experience (as an HR professional)
Either you go for a - Fully-funded PHD program in Actuarial Science or Actuarial science related area e.g BUSINESS ANALYTICS (Scholarship) - Post Graduate Certificate (PG.Cert) in Human Resources Management (based on your Work Experience)
For the Scholarship Option, if you can take your time and do your due diligence about it, luck might just smile at you.
Interestingly, Business Analytics is more or else tailoring Management to Science, Tech & Engineering, i.e NONSTEM to STEM & am sure you know PHD is all about RESEARCH, so
If you are proficient in the use of Python, SQL, R-programming, Advanced Excel and some other Data Analytics software packages, and you also have some Research Experience or Projects, did online courses related to Business Analytics , yes you stand a Chance of getting a PHD Scholarship in Canada
Below are some Research Areas in Business Analytics you might want to consider for your PHD in Canadian Universities
- Big Data Analytics - Time Series and Forecasting - Statistical Machine Learning - Supply Chain Management - Blockchain Technology - applied econometrics - electricity markets - financial econometrics and quantitative risk forecasting - Bayesian methods - forecasting, sensitivity analysis - micro-econometrics, multivariate statistical methods -panel data methods and models - scheduling problems - stochastic non-life insurance and actuarial problems - testing and modelling structural change - Actuarial Science - Financial Engineering
Which ever Research area above (at least 4 Research Areas) you want to work on for your PHD in Business Analytics in Canada, you need to google professors in Canada whose Research Areas align with your Research Interests, or your prior research experience (MSC), then read about their Area of expertise, research work, articles (journals, publications), then draft a non-generic mail (cold mail) and send it to them to show interest in their work, how your research interests aligns with the Prof's Research areas and your intentions to join their Research Group. Once a Prof. finds you fit for his research group, all other things na cruise (Softwork).
Look at this illustration
So i am an Actuarial Science MSC holder, I have interest in "BlockTechnology" (which was stated on my Academic CV) for my PHD, so I went to google and type,
Professors of BlockChain technology Canada
So I saw a search result,
Professor. Victoria Lemieux https://blockchain.ubc.ca/people/victoria-lemieux
I read through her page and I saw this;
"My current research is focused on risk to the availability of trustworthy records, in particular in blockchain record keeping systems, and how these risks impact upon transparency, financial stability, public accountability and human rights"
Boom!!!, her research area aligned well with mine, so i drafted my Cold Mail & tailored it to her Research Area, then attached my well-detailed Academic CV and sent to her , two days later, she gave me this response (FIND ATTACHED THE IMAGE). In her next e-mail, she told me to go ahead and apply for the PHD program and attach all necessary documents e.g Transcript, Statement of Purpose (for Graduate School Application), Academic CV etc.). She gave me a supporting letter to attach to my application which shows that i have been accepted by a prof. (Supervisor). Three-Four Weeks Later, PHD Admission Came which was Fully-funded (Opooor!!!)
In a situation whereby a Prof. Mail you that he/she wants to have a SKYPE/ZOOM INTERVIEW WITH YOU the contents in the link below would suffice https://www.nairaland.com/6321900/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/331#99484513
A SAMPLE OF A SOFT REMINDER MAIL TO THE PROFESSOR YOU SENT A COLD MAIL TO WHO IS YET TO RESPOND https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/436#104040092
For more details on how to go about PHD admission, and package yourself for Graduate School Scholarships, take your time and go through the contents in the link below, relate it to your intentions of going for a PHD in a Business Analytics research area in Canada.

Note: Endeavor to ask questions from the Prof.
The PG.Cert Option Since you have work experience you can also go for a Post Grad. Certificate in HRM at Canadian Colleges.
See the link below for; PG. Cert in HRM (human resources Mgt.) programs & Colleges Offering them https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/440#95313925

Olanrewajuluke1. Pls pay attention. Whosoever may have assisted you to make the payment must have applied to his/her bank for a refund. This is the same thing some people do when they make withdrawal with POS. You are adviced to log into your account and quickly pay back the money else, you face a five yr ban. Rush to your bank, open a domiciliary account, fund the account, collect a card, then make the payment OR go to playstore, download barta by fluterwave, verify the account, fund it, create a virtual dollar card and use it to make the payment.
After making payment, draft a letter to the commission/embassy explaining that an agent made the payment and requested for a refund without your notice.
On the contrary, if you actually made that payment yourself initially, and you are sure you didn't fill any error form in your bank, then write a letter and attache your receipt.
Like the saying goes, "sometimes in life, the best victory is to lose". I will advice you adhere to option 1 and let sleeping dogs lie.
According to Frank, It shall end in praise. |

First Application: March 2020 Refused- May 2020 Second Application: July 11 2020 Upfront medical- July 10 2020 Refused- August 23 2020 Judicial Review- September 2020 Settlement offer- October 2020 Application reopened- December 10 2020 Medical passed- February 28 2021 BVL- March 11 2021 Medical expired, new request and submission- July 2021 PPR- August 6, 2021
My application was quite complicated— *at the time JR was done, I didn’t have an admission anymore (the college had even refunded me); I had to look for a new school (different program and province) and upload new LOA within the 30-day timeline. *According to the GCMS notes I got in June 2021, PPR was issued in April for the old LOA, and this was later cancelled after the visa officer noticed the new LOA. |

I want to transfer funds from my salary account to my savings account as the salary account is not so active and so that all the funds can be in one account.
Do I need to provide MBS for the salary account or just make reference to the transaction on my savings account MBS?

After like a week I got a call from the school about the uncompleted application. They said my previous qualification does not really matter in canada. I was advised to go ahead and complete the application and make part payment before Aug 19 to enjoy the scholarship. They also said the school will assist In my visa application.
Guys how true is this..... If these are not group of scammers, then the school must be hungry for money. Pls dont continue with the application. The goal is to get the visa. I would advice you go for a P.G Cert or Masters prog. |

Chipo14: So I informed my DLI that I am yet to get a visa in response to their mail requesting for an update on my resumption status. I told them I am still waiting for a decision and may seek a deferral to winter or summer 2022. I was told they cannot defer again and I should send them a withdrawal letter by August so they can process refund of tuition deposit.
I am considering starting my studies as the fall semester is commencing online by September. I will however not be eligible for a refund if my application is denied after commencing online. I will also not be able to complete the program as it has mandatory 240hrs industry placement before I can graduate.
I need the gurus to advise me cause at this junction confusion is confusing my confusion. February 19 applicant B4 the gurus come, here is my take: - A refund invalidates your LOA. - Apply for a fresh admission, pay the application fee and secure the admission. - Write to the school and transfer the sch fees to the new admission. - If the sch refunds you before the new admission lands, pay the fees immediately you secure the admission. |

Bin working in a community pharmacy since December 2018 and I also attached a reference letter from my employer.
-SOP 6pages -Sponsor's personal bank statement: 19.5m -My own statement: 4.3m (4.1 from my sponsor as living expenses and I had 200k) -Sponsor's landed property (like 10) and I claimed itz worth over 300m (no evaluation) -I did a deed of gift from my sponsor to me, for a piece of land, and I back dated to April 2018, so I claimed my sponsor gave me as a graduation gift, since I graduated in Sept 2017. -CAC docs of sponsor's companies, with one being a good hotel which I claim itz over 200m, and also noted in my SOP dat i own a 10% shares with docs to back it. -UK travel history and old visas with the last expired 2yrs which I ddnt evn use. - I schooled in Cotonou, Benin Republic, So I added the stamps too. -My siblings; First as a director in one of my dad's company, I am d 2nd, 3rd as manager in anoda of my dad's company, 4th, a recent graduate from a private uni in Nigeria (Nothing to support d claims, jst family pics in Naija, UK and my pics at work wearing my white coat) -I flaunted my sponsor well!!!!!! -My SOP was really directed to Nigeria and Africa. I talked abt how much we are dependent on imported medicines, and how we were handicapped during the pandemic, since our major importers, India and China couldn't export bcuz the covid hit dem so badly. I talked abt our drug importation of over $500m in 2018 and expected hike of over $1bn in year 2030 and compared it to our export of only $800k (With reference links). -I talked about the AfCFTA which is signed already and how it will be good for manufacturing should be accelerated in Nigeria....Nd also, how I can easily export across Africa since my father is a freight forwarding mogul and how this will contribute to my country's GDP.
I got 4 US F-1 visa denials, ans the last one was in November, 2020. Same biotechnology course, but issues av been that I wasn't well informed, I was using my dad's corporate bank statement. I jst see say v.o go dey gbadun my speech for interview, dem go say mk I bring bank statement, if I just show dem, dem go say "sorryy....". One time sef, my passport sleep embassy, e no still come back wit Us Visa......Aiye le o!!!! Datz y I jst used personal statement now as I got more informed!

mercy445: Morning all,
Congrats in advance to PPR hopefuls.
Please I have a quick question. For those who did biometrics for a previous application. When you open study application, did your biometrics ever changed from 'we do not need your biometrics, if we do we will contact you. Though my previous biometrics shows on the right side when viewing on a laptop but that part under my application hasn't changed.
I want to be sure it's okay for it to stay that way or I have to do something so it states the date of my biometrics.
May application, medical passed June 15th.
I anticipate a response...I still don't know au to use this platform. If your biometrics is no up to 10yrs just relax you don't have to worry. |
