@Hernyolar, Your birth story reminds me of the saying "iya ni wura, baba ni diigi".. What mothers go through.. God bless you, baby and daddy. |
justwise:Thank you for stepping in, was about to plead with you to this, can you help by taking it a step further? Kindly remove the abusive posts that don't add any value. @ People, This isn't right in any shape or form. |
@Bhukkie, Hello, what gives you the impression that something is wrong? Why do you think cos you've experienced something bad in the past, it means that's your destiny in life. Positive thoughts my sis, positive thoughts. @missmalachi, It seems we "old" mamas have scared ftms a bit? The thing with "most" private hospitals is that they don't have the financial muscle that GHs and FMCs have, if push comes to shove, how many of them can stand? If you are registered with the reddigntons, st ives, eko, st nicholas in lag or diff, nisa premier and arewa in abuja, I won't have a thing to complain about since they charge so much that having "everything" is imperative. A friend's neighbour had her baby at gwarinpa district hospital(old looking unattractive building) @ about 7mths and barely at a kg or so and the baby survived and is thriving today. My friend said the boy looked like an alien when she went with her neighbour to the nicu to peep and she never believed the child would make it. God did it using the expertise and necessary equiments. At the end of the day though, don't people have babies @ iya alagbo's and cac missions..God is in charge of everything jare!! |
@proudy, You are 4th too? Nice. modath: |
@march mamas, Welcome to the month of fulfillment and liberation.. Its also my bdy month, 4th is the d day, somebody make my day and I'll send you 5 gold rings, 4 curly birds, 3 fresh eggs,2 turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree. ![]() |
@imurboss, ,I know its wicked to laugh at you but I have this mental pic of you looking for the meat in your handbag and couldn't help it. ![]() |
@Vivi, You are highly welcome, & papa Gode wwe return all praises to you cos your promises will never go unfilled. Find better seat and feel @ home but we now charge for membership ,madam kaffy is the treasurer. |
@Shawbabe, We can go back and forth till thy kingdom come but since we are clearly on opposites sides and with raging hormones et al, you can have the last word. You are so right. ![]() One undeniable fact is that this thread has gotten to almost 400pages(could have been more if not for the tsunami)cos of the blue pali and self pay packages since we all know india is actually where 9ja people patronise for healthcare related issues. We are having this debate cos we can afford the air fare to start with, some folks have their babies @ cac missions cos that's the hand fate dealt them. To the mamas that have lost babies;I'm sorry if you feel disparaged in any way,I pray that the lord will give you miracles that will keep smiles permanently on your faces. |
mytestimony:Are you no longer doing the CS? If you are 37weeks is full term(early term) and you are even showing signs of labour sef, can you try and get to the hospital for a check? |
Shawbabe:Childbirth isn't a new innovation my sis, 16yr old fulani girls wit their frail looking bodies do it while hawking fura de nunu till the 9th month with no medical intervention. As you rightly stated, person A's journey and story may not be applicable to person B so why compare apples and oranges. |
Gr8fulHeart:My pleasure. ![]() |
@Everyone, How we doin? @kimoni, We thank God for everything. |
I came out of lurk mode to state two things. 1. I made a 7hrs journey by road and the return journey 3days after(family car though) @ 36 weeks gestation with no ill effect to neither me nor the baby. 2. As @Drafrican rightly stated, the reason we are going to the US is primarily for the blue pali and we should stop with the better healthcare ish. If its for superior healthcare ONLY, the UK, india, uae even south africa are avilable options that would cost only a fraction of the $10-15k conservative budget that is needed for a us childbirth plan . There are myriads of 1st class hospital with top notch doctors/facilities in this country and the beloved dr fagbohun of oakbend/richmond is even an alumnus of abu zaria. |
@Jumayin, Can you get a second opinion? There's a miscalculation somewhere.. Put your trust in God,he is not a God of half miracles. |
@My FTMs, Sisters for a really detailed and educative ANC, General hospitals are the best, they'll tell you what you need to know not just fuss and mollycoddle you so every little thing won't send you to the hospital . I've done ANC at both a 1st class private hospital(they even do IVF) and a dugbe GH and the GH taught me a lot and you'll meet a lot of other mamas who will share their experiences as well. |
@Alaka, Nice testimony. @lullabi, With life ALL things are possible, no leaf will drop from a tree without the Lord's knowledge,He will do you well. @Debbie, I am not one to back down from a fight but in this case it will serve zero use, reason being your friend is in both physical and mental pain right now and needs to heal and put all this behind her. The hospital will claim she was sent back initially cos she wasn't well dilated and her inexperience made her sit back at home when she started having stronger contractions. What is baffling is that she could be calm while in a 48hrs labour and not speak to her mum, a friend, sis or an aunt... |
missmalachi:First of all, be calm...its light spotting without any kind of cramps I'm assuming? Depending on the intensity kpekus sometimes causes light spotting. Baba God dey for your side, no cause for alarm. |
@Kimoni. Congrats,God's blessings on the whole family. |
@Purehuman, It's surely not normal! Its excess prolactin production, and it inhibits conception. See a Gynae asap, but in the interim ewedu can be a great help. Visit the ttc thread for more info. @franashi, Wowza!! 5kg!! Congrats on the birth of the lil princess. @lala, Lucky you. |
@Temmy, Your husbands's response is giving me the giggles, bwahahaha!! that's my kind of person!! ![]() @mytesti, FTM tinz, , don't worry yourself too much my sis, baby's skin fit not even send all you are preparing and just love up Cussons imperial lather like my shuren own.Disregard that woman, some folks!!! ![]() @testilife, Welcome, the more the merrier. @proudy, How is the male proudy? @everyone, Keep on keeping on. |
proudmom38:I do,its the uterus expanding. I even feel a mild cramp further down and around my previous scar point. It is well with us. @Aghaibiam, Its only a crazy person that will ask you not to be sad, pls don't brood too much . Babe just rest a bit and get down to biz with oga , one mama is back without her period returning. Pencilling you down for team november or december. God never disappoints. |
@Henyolar, Congrats, God's love on the whole family. @Julicoka, Canesten and ditch panties for now. @TobiaG, I'm not insinuating money is the reason here, just chipping in my observation, I trust our yoruba folks with CS aversion. @Miraclemum, Your hospital is a private one, this is a Fed govt establishment..Nisa premier is 750k @imurboss, Boss lady nor let that 1806 thing happen again, na beg I dey beg. ![]() @mumsgirl, Garki is good, national hospital and fed staff are very nice as well, the fct govt funded ones are very good and dirt cheap, depends where is closest to your residence. Don't know about Douz as well, there are lots of good places in this city. @nerf, Dec mamas never even ovulate the one wey dem go take calculate lmp, dem still dey do sisi not knowing mad nausea dey lay siege!! |
@mummy2be, The lord's promise in your life must come to pass.. Continue with your fluid intake. @kaffy,@proudy,@lala & others My Fellow july mama how far, no look march people faces oo. July is just 133d away. ![]() |
@Beedam, You are a clown,Nan 1 is good and friends baby is on cow&gate and doing ok. @Mzora, There is no cause for alarm, not everyone's belle dey follow the program. With my 1st pregnancy, minus the premature contraction @7months brougt on by nivaquine, I didn't feel nothing till 2days before delivery. @Tobiabos, Is the person a churchy or yoruba woman? On this CS issue, I sometimes feel its financial and some folks are just embarassed to own up cos for the life of me,I don't get why people will put their lives and babies' on the line when all the prognosis are not in their favour. I know its not easy out there in dem streets but life is precious!! I met a lady @ the hospital when I went for 12wk scan and she was complaining to her companion about the price for CS and talking about looking for agbo to shrink the baby's size cos she's been told she has the double whammy of placenta previa and a large baby and CS fees alone in that hospital(Govt but run for profit) is 120k while vag is 30k. I couldn't help myself I had to call her to a corner and advised her not to embark on a suicide mission and steered her in the direction of our trusted General hospital, I know GH is like a market but the consultants are top quality. When I had my son in '06, the GH charged 1k for vag delivery while CS was 25k,with drugs and what have you it didn't exceed 40k cos the bed per night was a 100n, today the same hospital charges 5k for vag and 40k for CS. The woman beside my bed's husband was angry at the wife and was very obvious about it cos of the financial implication despite being aware that it was a life saving measure. We had to chip in something so he wouldn't send the poor woman into post natal depression. |
@ Beedam, Madam Kaffy has given you the best advice. I know you love lil man with all your being, I also know you'd like baby to be on EBF but a well nourished baby is a happy baby, aint nothing wrong with formula if it will help this situation. It will also help you regain your sanity. I wish you were near someone that would just take you under her wings and give you TLC. @mytesti, Do that which you can and bone the rest. @mummy2be, The journey no long again,na so 3rd tri dey be for some people, heartburn no join abi? @miraclemum, Good news all the way... |
PDP senators are working on a script: campaign against the usage of the card reader. Odion ugbesia even said its illegal. I love my country but what have we done to deserve our "leaders"?? |
@Lala, Pele, I know its not easy. Try zobo with GINGER, it might not totally eradicate it,but it will help reduce the frequency&make sure you brush or gaggle with minty toothpaste after each vomiting episode. Reason being that the bile being thrown up erodes the teeth enamel after a prolonged period, I never linked the extra gaps that emerged in my dentition to vomitting throughout kid 1 & 2's pregnancy till I stumble on the info online. @beedam, I feel for you on the no mum situation cos my mum becomes my glorified maid after childbirth. Do you have a close aunt or sis? On the oka thing, I am of the opinion that. A) baby might be colicky or B)your milk isn't filling cos you weren't getting adequate nutrition and therefore the milk production may be impacted. @Isa's mum, Congrats in arrears. @splendour, Discontinue any medication that presents any uncomfortable side effect & ask for a 2nd opinion, I was placed on dat drug when I had this kind of episode but it was for a few days. @imurboss, You are a real boss lady, no F was given. ![]() @General House, I tuale for efribodi.. Na joy go end for us ALL |
@Amjane, Congrats, sweet birth story. You made it sound so easy, that annointing of ease will never depart your household. |
mytestimony:Awwwhhh. I totally approve of your decision(not that you asked or need it) ... No matter what any one tells me to the contrary, when anyone ttc,I hold fast to the opinon that zero risk should be taken. What is precious needs to be taken care of. |
@keji3, It means Oral Rehydration Salt, its used when there is a loss of hydration through excessive stooling/vomitting. You can liken it to drip but instead of taking it in the vein, its taken as a drink. |
mytestimony:Babe, don't be scared, the pain is just much on the first day but if they nack you better pain meds it will be manageable,by the second day it will become a dull ache... Did you opt for an elective cos of ttc? |
